That sucks bro.
You missed out for about a few months.

Damn, I tried to order one earlier today and could not complete the process because I'm not eligible for an upgrade until Jan. 8th.

I called AT&T and they said with any other phone they could move up my date and give me the deal but they can't with the iphone:rolleyes:

So this deal only applies to new customers or people who are eligible for an upgrade...

So could I add another line to my account and get the refurb 3GS for $49, then pay the early termination fee of $175 and just sell the phone on ebay after I unlock right? Or do I have to pay some kind of fee to keep the phone?

Probably have to pay a months bill and then be able to cancel without returning the phone if Im not mistaken.

you can do this but you usually don't end up making enough money fr it to be worth it, but it is possible. keep in mind the activation fee and first months service will run over $100 alone

or if you add a line. it might be worth it to check what your etf is currently, its probably 75$ or less, which still makes this a good deal

bought one yesterday

I actually was going to buy an iPhone 3G Refurb for the past week and for some reason I had woke up yesterday (Friday) to finally make the order online with ATT. After surfing the ATT site I noticed the price of the 16GB 3GS was the same price of the 8GB 3G Refurb ($49). 1st thing that came to my mind was that this is a mistake made by ATT so i better take advantage and order now so I did and after coming here didn't occur to me it was a Black friday sale.

I checked today and looks like prices are back to normal. Only thing is I ordered under a business account and it seems the shipping was not free overnight it was actually 2nd air free shipping. Overnight was $15.00. Activation was free however.

The Price is back up to $149 guys.
It was good while it lasted :)

Yeah, at least it wasn't like when the first iPhone initially came on the refurb market, and the refurbs would sell out in a few hours. With a little recouped cost from my original iPhone (which was also a refurb) this should not be too expensive an upgrade. :)

This is my first upgrade. I had a used phone when i first got cingular back in 2006, then bought my own phone two years later. Never have used my upgrade. For $50 i think i got the best upgrade you can get.

I've already got a small list of apps downloaded haha.

I am new to the site and just wanted to get some info from you guys who also jumped on this awesome deal.

When I ordered 2 of the 16g 3gs iphones in white they said they were in stock. I received my email conformation and check online for the order status it is now showing that they are on back order. :(

Anybody else seeing what I am?

How long do you expect them to send them out?

Can't wait to get the phones.

They show on back order till they ship them out.
It shouldnt be long, they should have them out by the beggining of the week is my guess.

I'm not. Mine shows that it shipped on the 27th, with expected delivery tomorrow, but I ordered the refurb 32g, not the 16.

mine still shows processing :/ like I said I know they flagged it because of all my addresses. I might also run into the my address doesnt exist problem. I tried calling but couldnt get a real person, typical att:(

Thanks for the reply guys. I was just curious and excited at the same time.

I'll keep posted on how long it takes.

Currently its listed as in progress and shows that 2 sims and 2 iphones are on backorder.

Maybe its because I'm a new customer? I'm currently with sprint and will be canceling with them as soon as I get the iphones.

Could be, although so am I, FWIW. The process is very confusing, although I shan't think that credit approval takes more than a minute or two.

I just got off the phone with them. They said that they are not on back order anymore and should go out within a couple days. Even though my status still says they are on back order. :D

My credit shouldn't be holding up any of the process. I have great credit. ;)

My phone shows to have shipped on Friday, but the route it is taking makes no sense at all. I live in East Texas. The tracking information shows it left Ft. Worth, TX on Friday which is only a couple hours from me. Then it went to Memphis, TN and now it is in Shreveport, LA. It is supposed to be delivered tomorrow. Talk about taking the scenic route.
