I just got setup on this $60 plan Goodbye to Straight Talk, enjoying LTE speeds (9Mbps Down on the tests I did so far and got up to 14Mbps up)

This was today when I walked out the store :)
Will try again later

It's funny because they kept saying "LTE will not work". Even the store manager came to warn me.

They ported the number from ST instantly and as soon as I swiped my Amex, my phone got 4G and then LTE signal.

Be careful with running too many speed tests :)

One of those 45+ Mbps tests burns up over 50mb!

Yup, LTE definitely working! and for the first time I'm using Visual Voicemail...and it feels great not having the need to dial and wait....

I love it so far! One thing I don't like is the slight delay with switching between LTE and 4G between calls. I think apple should find a better way in the next iPhone to allow some sort of simultaneous 4G and LTE connection? and as the member said above, Don't do too many Speedtests as it will eat up MB's

nice feedback, definitely buying the 5S off contract, when it comes out and switching to this plan
not having to worry about apn settings is great too
gotta love the low pings.. dare i say it seems gophone is on the same priority as postpaid? it's certainly a tier above Straight Talk / MVNOs

good feedback on howardforums too

My earlier problems in this thread have been solved finally. I wasn't getting LTE coverage, only 4G. It turns out after a few phone calls with at&t tech, I was given an older spec nano sim from my local At&t store that didn't support LTE.

I went to a corporate store and they set me up with a new nano and I am now enjoying LTE coverage!

Also, as mentioned earlier about being told gophone doesn't support LTE, I was also told this by the at&t store manager at the garden state plaza in NJ. Unbelievable really that these people can be so clueless.

Wrong, not even close. I have 3 lines on T-Mobile got $120 with unlimited talk text and unlimited LTE. On T-Mobile your always covered you can even roaming ATT network for free. With 2Gb of data a month you can't even watch the apple keynote.

U can't do this on att

Now imagine everybody was doing this on their phones. Eventually something's got to give. I doubt any carrier would be able to support this type of usage if a majority of their customers started using their phones as their main internet connection. I can't wait for the day I can't call 911 because my entire neighborhood is either watching some pr0n or streaming Baby Einstein for their kids all night off of their phone's / hotspot puck's internet connection.

Get real. You can call 911 with "No Service" whatsoever.

U can always make a call if the data was congested. U can always make s 911 call. I'm sure these high speed networks were designed to consume more than 2Gb of data. T-Mobile even has a 12Gb teathering option. I use an average of 20gb per month my carrier has no problem with it:)

Exactly. You don't need a data connection to make a call.

Not 100% true. If you are ever at a major event or sporting game, and the carrier doesn't beef up support or have a DAS in place, your phone basically becomes a brick due to all the traffic. No calls, texts, etc go through.

Good example is at CES. All carriers bring in COWs. Without them, nothing would work, even 911.

At Celtics games here, Sprint and TMobile phones don't work inside TD gardens due to all the traffic. VZW and AT&T share the DAS inside, so they work perfectly.

Also during emergencies, 911 is never guarenteed. After the Boston Marathon Bombings, no one was able to make a call in that vicinity for a few hours, due to all the network stress.

I am officially registered with callingmart.com as a reseller, if anyone Needs Refills for this plan feel free to get in touch I can do $60.

So far I have hit speeds of 30Mbps Down and 27Mbps Up on LTE, everything is working great :)

Able to use an att iphone 5 on this? How does one go about it?

Why wouldn't you be able to....its an iPhone...a Smartphone.

Get a SIM from AT&T store or Apple Store for AT&T and sign up online at the gophone site, super easy. Or Call up AT&T Prepaid to activate if you need to port in a number (try not to ask "dumb" questions as those specialists are already light headed usually, its best to keep conversations small and simple to get your work done).

Heah i went to att guy said cant do it.

I'm on the plan and so are 1000's of others, obviously he isnt get any commission selling prepaid plans lol...

LTE is working great and so is MMS + Visual Voicemail....cant beat that

fair enough, so i just need a prepaid sim, or micro sim since i have an iphone 5, and pop it in and just follow the activation directions?

Get any SIM...I didnt ask for any specific "Prepaid SIM". I just got a nano SIM and activated that online, then called up AT&T to have it port my number but they said Its best to call and activate rather than activate online and then call as it makes it longer to port the number since they have to re-assign SIM # to phone number etc.

Hello, I was thinking about joining this $60 gophone plan. Does anyone know if I can use this plan on a verizon unlocked iphone 5?? Please reply!! Thanks!

Ditched my horrible 2 day old tmobile plan for this, and got lte as soon as I powered up. Went to get a sim from a different AT&T store with a guy who wasn't a lazy bum.

No. Verizon iPhones only work on gsm networks outside of the US

This worked with one hiccup.

Ported a relative from ST to this plan. As described here, I went into Apple store and asked for a new ATT 4s sim and got it free. Due to the old plan expiring the next day, I called the closest corporate store and asked about all of this to figure out if they seemed competent. They did so I went in.

I stood there with the lady and her iPad as she was helping us get on the plan. As discussed here, she mentioned this was only for Android and wasn't sure if this would work for an iPhone. I didn't get the "up-sell" vibe from her but I think they are trained that way. I told her "I know this works" so let's continue. We did.

The Apple store sim caused their AT&T software to error out. She went and got another new SIM card - I looked at it to see if it was some sort of "GoPhone" sim as someone previously posted. Nope. Looked just like my Apple store sim.

Ported ST number in about 15 minutes with a phone called because ST acct/pin number - that's for a different post and took an hour of googling the night before.

Everything worked except LTE because the 4s doesn't have it. 7 down and 4 up everywhere so far during the past three days.

Hope this helps.
