Got this email from ATT on my order. But when I click the link and login, it just spins with a message " Please give us a moment. We’re almost there!" and does not go anywhere.

Why is the ATT thread the deadest preorder thread? This post would have 50 - 100 pages by now many years ago. So strange.

I think the people on this forum like tracking flights from China and want guarantees they get launch day vs. 1 day later so AT&T gets no love from the macrumors crowd but still processes a lot of phones.

My preorder with AT&T for a 256gb Gold 12 Pro changed from processing to preparing to ship yesterday, however the estimated date has stayed the same.
 
When I clicked on the Fedex notice about the arrival on the 23rd, there was a statement " Per shipper instructions, package will not be delivered until the scheduled delivery date "
 
Anyone got a service summary for upcoming bill from Att and showing $41.84 and $26.35 in tax but I already paid tax when I ordered iPhone 12 Pro what is this tax for? Tax for the wireless plan should not be this high. I have unlimited elite with 3 lines.

When I ordered on AT&T it said the tax for my phone ($95) would appear on my next statement. I did not need to pay it upon checkout.
 
odd, i paid the tax straight away.

Me too. I paid tax right away when I ordered from Apple tax was exactly for $999 phone. Why are those tax in my bill so high if it's for wireless plan. I'll wait for actual plan bill.
 
Wow these forums are usually slammed and only on 7 pages this year. Much less demand. Did not order on pre-order day, although I was tempted to. Ended up upgrading my daughters iPhone X line in the end.

Ordered an iPhone 12 Pro 256g in Blue at 4:22p EST on 12/18. Website quoted Nov 9-16th ship dates.

Seems like demand is high among people I know, but we've already gone through this drill so many times. My expected AT&T delivery dates consistently come out weeks later, but I always end up with the phone delivering on launch day.

Less chatter since there isn't any reason to fret on it like we used to.

No. In fact the entire promo is centered around the “$800” trade in credit, to match the iphone 12’s price. The $800 is not given all at once: they give you a credit for the monthly payment of the iPhone 12 (26.67 per month, x 30). If I ordered the pro I would still get the same credit, which wouldn’t cover the whole payment for the Pro obviously. But I didn’t want the pro, nor a payment (albeit just 6.67). I don’t have a payment now so didn’t want my bill to go up at all.

This appears to have happened to me too. I checked trade-in and all looked good at check out, but when I finally received the confirmation there is no mention of a trade-in and the installment amounts are the full price. I was hoping this was just a delay in processing the trade-in but now I’m worried it didn’t process. Their confirmation emails are completely unacceptable. I guess I will have to call customer service on monday.

Yes, but only by canceling my original order and reordering. This pushed my delivery date back by a week but I wanted to be certain I had the promo offer. When I re-ordered it on the last page it had a section about returning my old phone. The first time I ordered it didn’t have that, even though it appeared to accept the promo and my trade in. I tend to think I would have been okay with the first order but I’m the kind of person who would stress over it.

Since I was also changing carriers, this is the first time I've ordered directly from AT&T instead of Apple. AT&T commonly pads their delivery dates? I'm showing a 10/26 - 11/02 delivery date currently, and I ordered as soon as pre-orders opened.
 
For those wondering if you can trade in a phone to get a regular iPhone 12, I believe so, I have it under my account, I didn't do it, plus ATT tweeted it at me, that I can get iPhone 12 64GB for basically free with trade in, obviously 64GB is way way way too small for me. But it says for new and existing customers, get iPhone 12 for free.
I believe you can still get that offer for the pro. You’ll just have to pay $6.67 a month ($200/30), or more if you want more than 128 GB. But you still get the deal.

I don’t think they pad their delivery dates, I think their ordering system is just all over the map. When I ordered my iPhone 12 the first time, it was hours after pre-orders openEd. I received a delivery date of October 23. When I re-ordered about three hours later (my trade-in was not added to the original order so I didn’t get the promo, and canceled it) my delivery date was October 26 to November 2. As of this moment my order status is “preparing for shipment,“ so maybe sooner than the 26th. We’ll see.

I ordered on AT&T site and they said it would be on bill. Apple.com usually charges it right away.

We share the same account and I can log on and see everything in the account and all. So I called on Friday and asked to change the ship to addresses after he sent me the order confirmations which only went to him. I went thru two levels of support and they could not figure out how to change the ship to address. Second level said they would create a ticket for me and that I would hear from them about the status of the ticket. Well, no change report, no status on the ticket and here I sit. It is hard to imagine they were so dumb as to do a preorder system and an order delivery system and have no way of changing the ship to address. By the way I have the security password on the account so that is not an issue. Anyone find a magic way of getting ship to addresses changed?

I ordered online twice and both times I was able to change the ship-to address. It was a little confusing at first since what I thought should be "clickable" was not. I finally noticed the small pencil icon and clicking/tapping that allowed me to edit the address. That said, I wouldn't be able to change it now that the order has been placed. Pretty sure you'd need to have Online Sales dept make that kind of change.

We’ve all come to the acceptance of the subpar preorder experience with them

this is my 6th preorder thru AT&T. This is the first year I didn’t click order as soon as pre-orders opened, but was a last minute decision this year. No worries. Demand feels lower though in general.

Of the previous 5, all arrived on time with various status changes during the week with the exception of one that arrived the next day.

Does it actually show "in progress?" Mine showed "in progress" as of last night, but today is showing "preparing to ship." My delivery date is between 10/26-11/2 so I don't really think it is "preparing to ship" but who knows.

it will remain preparing to ship from this point until they affix a label to it sometime this week. You’re in good shape.
