Yes,
I am referring to the 7 plus that I purchased through Apple's upgrade program. Reps at At&t and Apple said that my phone can be used at Verizon. I just have to wait until March 4th when Apple will let me out of my contract because they are raising the UDP price.
I'm on the IUP too. So basically if I wanted to move to VZW (from att) I would have to get a whole different phone and have to pay off this one?

Is it true that Verizon can't switch from LTE to 3g or other bands without dropping the call?
Yes.

Or submit to the terms of VZW's trade-in. Unfortunately the Intel modems in the iPhone 7 models for AT&T and T-Mobile don't have CDMA radios so VZW
won't activate them.

Hence why I guess I won't consider VZW's UDP because the switch sounds super messy and doesn't sound (based on what some have said so far) worth it?!

Only if you use volte for calls.
It's sad but true.
If you move out of LTE coverage area to cdma only then the call will drop/disconnect.
That doesn't happen with gsm carriers.
Well that is kinda crappy. . Now not sure I want to leave. I'm thinking that may happen often driving or going in and out of buildings.

So I've had AT&T since the Cingular days , while I love the carrier. The plans are ridiculous to me. I don't want DirectTV or anything like that. Just unlimited

My question is: would Verizon with unlimited data be cheaper than my current AT&T bill?

I believe we're paying off 2-3 iPhones so that probably contributes to the bill at the end of the month. Anyway, we pay around 300-350$ a month for a family of 5. We have 15gbs of data I believe , with rollover data bringing us to 20gbs usually. How would Verizon compare to this? Thanks!

Oh last thing, would the iPhone MKRG2LL/A work on Verizon networks if we did switch? (We got them from Target, I googled it and it comes up as a unlocked iPhone. But if it does work- does LTE, wifi calling, etc work natively?

It looks like Verizon would be cheaper. For the unlimited plan for five phones plus a 20 dollar device installment on three of the phones at any given time would have you coming in at about 260 plus tax. Target phones are typically sold through apples reseller flex policy and are unlocked. They may have a software lock on them though that you'd have to pay them off and request unlocks from at&t on them.

Features like wifi calling, voLTE, visual voicemail, etc. would all work on Verizon on iPhones once you activated the phones on their network. Android is a little less cross carrier on certain phones. The iPhones will download Verizon's carrier update shortly after they're activated and all features will work.

Been having att since the iPhone 6 and no complains with the coverage or LTE data speed but they do need to lower their data prices. Also I always liked the idea of a phone with a SIM card

Ah ah okay, as I'm not that expierenced with phone plans, what is it per line? 45? Any chance you could breakdown the 260?

And oh okay, awesome!

Thanks again

For a single line, the unlimited plan is $65 with line access fee of $20 (or $40 if line is in contract), minus $5 autopay discount.

For shared/family account, the unlimited plan is $110 with each line access fee of $20 (or $40 if line is in contract), minus $10 autopay discount.

No corporate discounts apply aside from military/veteran discounts (and a few government ones it seems).

The rep I worked with at Verizon said switching phones is as easy as moving the SIM card just like AT&T. Was I misled?

It should be that easy. I put a Verizon sim in my unlocked AT&T 6 Plus and it connected to Verizon's network with no issue.

AT&T will be forced to respond soon. They made a big deal out of this Direct TV/Unlimited package so to offer unlimited to everyone in a way is a setback for them.

At the same time they can't be the only carrier not offering unlimited (cable package aside). I expect them to offer unlimited for $75 (right between VZ and TMO) in the upcoming weeks.

It is, once you have an active SIM from Verizon. Unfortunately, to open an account you need a phone on their white list. They don't sell SIM-only plans.

In a few years that won't be an issue. I believe Verizon is turning off their CDMA network at the end of 2021 and will drop the CDMA requirement for white listed phones before then.

I have 4 iPhones 5S, 6S, 6+, 6S+, all factory Unlocked, service with ATT 3 of them unlimited data 1 with 3 GB data paying after 20% discount $233 a month.
my question is can I use this iPhone on Verizon or I need to buy new iPhones?

I hadn't previously considered switching but after doing my homework, the international calling and roaming deals with TMobile are insane. I have family that calls Thailand from the states and AT&T bends me over on the $. I'll hold out to see if AT&T answers in the next week or so, only because I am getting bill credits for 2 iPhones, but if they don't step up I'll just pay them off and move over. It'd be nice to be able to not have to switch sims when traveling internationally as well.

The 6s and 6s+ should work but the 5s and 6 won't support CDMA unless they are the Verizon versions.

Yes, they make it sounds nice and easy to get you to switch.
And then once you switch the back and forth starts.
1st if your device is not CDMA compatible it will not work even if its unlocked.
2nd if your unlocked device is not on their whitelist/compatibility list lots of features will not work. Like VOLTE, visual voicemail and many other things. You will go through lots of calls to tech support and higher up tech support to try to add your imei to their list so everything can be enabled but that is not always the case and sometimes your device cannot take advantage of all the features even though its unlocked and works for calls/text/data.
So yeah, its nowhere near as easy as swapping sim cards.

The 6+, 6S and 6S+ will work.
The 5S will not work since its lacking cdma radios.

just picked up my phone from Best Buy and I'm porting from AT&T to VZW. How long do I have to activate my phone? I'm traveling this afternoon so was going to wait a day or two....is that ok?
