I am curious about the CC charge. If i remember correctly it seems like almost every phone i have pre-oredered the CC charge happened in the early hours of the day (1am-3am). Is that usually the only time that it happens? or do things get charged throughout the day and status' could still change. Maybe.... just MAYBE this would keep me from updating my order status 400 times a day and checking to see if my credit card has finally been charged.

Maybe so. My CC was charged at 1:30am.

I had a Next preorder with Apple slated for 17-24. I walked into the local ATT store two hours after they opened, and got a 64GB Silver no problem.

Maybe I just got lucky, but even my store had more in stock when I left.

Did you cancel while in the store, and how much of a hassle was it?

My guess is you wont see any more movement until Sunday night/Monday Morning. It's the weekend already in China. I am waiting on a SG 256GB ordered at 3:12 EST. No movement at all.

From getting to apple store waiting online to walking out with iPhone X totaled 90 min. Cancelled my pre order while waiting and upgrade rolled back in about 5 min. Wasted time getting up at 2:30 to pre order. from what I'm reading, my experience with apple store walk in is not typical. And this is from me deciding on a whim at 11:45am today to drive by to see if its worth waiting. good luck to all.

Just got my new phone. Chatted with an AT&T rep while in line and my Next was reset so I was able to get a phone.

I think the ATT Next upgrades done thru apple with 17-24 dates are somehow stuck in a limbo lol

I ordered mine at 12:15 with nov 3 date but upon checkout it said 17-24. No activity so far..Except that my mine is not eligible for an upgrade anymore. So that processed.
I am thinking of walking into the store and picking one up this week or something. If I cancel my order how long does it take to reverse my next plan so that I’m eligible again to upgrade in store?

Set up reservation. Canceled order. AT&T told me the reset had already engaged before I even called. Now waiting to pick up.

So how is the in store purchasing going? Do you stand in line to reserve or just walk up to someone? I wanted to try my hand at it after work today

Just got home from the Apple store. I got there around 11:30 and there were a ton of people waiting and a ton of people behind me. As soon as I got the reservation I canceled my order from Apple online and my Next eligibility changed immediately. I got my 256GB silver after waiting for around 2 hours.

I just opened a new line with ATT Next and I am going to pay it off and cancel the line. I am keeping the preorder on my line for my mom I think, but yeah I didnt need to hassle with reverting upgrade or anything.

First time posting in this thread, but I was in the same boat. Got the reservation notice during preorder, lost my in store pickup, and was given the November 17-24 delivery with no movement yet. Decided to go to the local Apple Store in Farmington, CT at lunch, waited in line for an hour, and walked out with a 256 gig silver iPhone X. Cancelled my preorder when I was handed the new box, AT&T Next reset eligibility within seconds. The Apple Store employee told me he was planning on doing the same thing. If you have an Apple Store nearby, it's worth taking a drive ...

There are two lines at Cherry Creek. One for the reservation and one to set up res. The set up res line had 6 people in it when I got there but the Apple guy said that was the shortest it had been. Just had to wait through a couple people asking 20 questions then got to the guy. They had both 64/256 AT&T Silver so I went with the 256. Didn’t order that on Friday because I thought it would be more popular.
Getting back in line shortly.

Thanks for breaking it down. Would I be able to get the reservation and then go back in line after work?
