Still waiting with order in progress
That's absurd. Well, almost absurd. Maybe they wanted to improve the in-store experience this year. They had it so under control today it didn't really look busy. It looked like any normal day in an Apple Store. Or Town Square.

Once I made my reservation today I was certain I was going to open my app and find the blasted thing PFS for real this time but no. There it sat, stubbornly...

I was ATT Next, 256 GB, SG with 11/17-11/24 delivery. The only change I ever saw was going from Order Placed to Order in Progress. No tax charged to CC and no bumps. Set my alarm for 6 AM this morning, checked local Apple Store inventory via the Apple Store app and when I saw my phone was available, I cancelled my pre-order. I tried to do a new order immediately but the first couple times it said I still had a pending order. After a couple minutes, I tried again and was able to process my Next order for the same device and line for pickup today. So finally some change! This time, it was worth getting up early.

Cancelled my order too with no progress and ordered for pickup today.

Stil no idea what Apple was thinking with these pre-orders but Im no longer seeing the benefit of getting up at 3am to order. From now on, I'll just take my chances with store pickups like I've done the last 2 years.

Yea I won’t be preordering again. It’s pointless. Still waiting on AT&T to reset my next upgrade

I tapped out as well. I cancelled my order and easily scheduled a pickup for this afternoon. I think there is a systematic issue with the ATT Next orders!

Did others order through Apple and have issues with Next not resetting? On phone and already chatted and they are no help

AT&T is saying it takes up to 24 hours before att next resets itself
Oh on chat they told me 8-10 days. And I just spent 10 minutes trying to get through the thick head of the person I'm on the phone with that this is not an apple problem, and I don't want to order from ATT.

Another agent told me within 24 hours it will reset itself since the upgrade was made through a 3rd party retailer(Apple)

I got on Safari on my phone, logged in and cancelled my order. I then opened the Apple Store app on my phone, saw the cancelled order. Then, I tapped Buy and went through selecting my device and when I got to the ATT verification part, I got a message that I had a previous order in progress blah blah. I waited a minute and tried again, same thing. I waited another five minutes and tried again and was able to choose Next, confirm pickup and place the order. I got my Ready for Pickup email an hour or so later. I didn’t log into ATT or speak to anyone there or at Apple. The whole process took less than 10 minutes.

I wish it was that simple. Still showing full price upgrade as the only eligibility

I don’t know if it mattered or not but I completely closed out of the app and started from the beginning and that was when it was able to go trough completely. Not sure but it may cache the results of the last upgrade check until you start over. Sorry it’s taking so long for you.

I still had no movement. So I checked istocknow.com - canceled, waited 3 min and my upgrade was active again. Placed order on the Apple app and now have a 2pm reservation. Apple screwed up with this process. Oh well.

Thanks for the info. Worst case if I have to wait till tomorrow or Monday, it’s still sooner than the 3-4 week wait
