Looks like the WiFi calling is not working for unlimited plan.

Can anyone with unlimited data plan confirm if it is working for them?

This is insane :( ATT

I had it working the other day in Connecticut, however when i left my house and was off wifi i was unable to send a sms text, i rebooted my phone and it still didnt work i had to turn the feature off and reboot it, obviously a huge inconvenience that out weighs the positive of the feature and something ill assume they'll in a future update, Anyone else have that issue?

I noticed something interesting.

I work at a college campus. Classes started on Monday. Last week on campus my phone did NOT switch to AT&T WiFi calling at all. It stayed purely on LTE.

This week, the campus is full of students and now it's on WiFi calling nearly full time. The signal strength is the same, so my theory is that it's not just signal strength that causes the switch; an overloaded tower can also send the phone to WiFi calling to alleviate the load.

Now, this is an unscientific observation; it's just what I've noticed since yesterday. But it may show that there is more to the algorithm AT&T uses to switch to WiFi than just the number of dots.

Att has no logic at all. UDP no vowifi= I have no reason to turn on wifi = will use more cell data. Att! Please stop mismanagement.
This isn't true. Att Reps know nothing. I changed my 450 minute rate plan to unlimited minutes and kept my unlimited data plan. Wifi calling then activated right away. I switched back to my original plan and wifi calling still work. I think if i toggle it off then on, it won't work anymore.

Did you lost your Rollover minutes when you switched back to original?

Did you do it online or with CS rep? I want to change my lines for free Canada calls, but still worry about UDP. I have a-list, do you have it? If yes, did you loose it when switch back and forth? Thanks.

I did it online. I didn't have a list but I'm pretty sure you'll loose it. Att rep said I can't switch to unlimited calling because I'll loose unlimited data. He meant I need to move over to mobile share. Of course the rep was wrong, you have the option of a few different voice calling plans online. while still retaining unlimited data because all your Change is the voice plan.

I didn't, however I switched the rate plan to the Unlimited rate plan, activated the wifi calling, and then quickly switched back to my original 450 nation plan. The roll over minutes were still available after the change, but if you choose to stay on unlimited calling minutes you wouldn't need rollover.

I see. you did it online and what effective date you choose? Today? Last billing cycle date? Thanks

Thanks a lot. I wanted to switch to Canadian plan, but CS rep told me I loose my UDPs.

Hopefully getting closer for me to be able to enable it. I have a Hoover number living in Madison. I am hoping it will eventually work with my UDP and my 700 min family plan.
Noope. No one yet reported that it is working with limited plan. It is working only with unlimited minutes (shared plan)

I was able to get it working with my unlimited data plan! I have the 450 nation plan which i replaced online with unlimited calling minutes then activated wifi calling right away. a minute later i switched back to my 450 minute plan and my wifi calling have been working since. Customer service reps don't know anything and I'm sure of this now. You can do all of this online. Those with the unlimited data plan can move between 3 available calling plans.

My phone is working with it in Fort Lauderdale, FL. I have unlimited talk and text. I like it at home because there are rooms in my house where the signal was -114 db. Tonight, when I was talking to my wife, it switched to the wifi and the call was as good as if it had been on the cell tower.

UDP with700 minutes, I have something new in Boston/Cambridge area. It says contact carier for the activation. Before it was "Oops.."
No vowifi with limited minutes and UDP.
Att step by step pushes me towards t-mo. T-mo is slow with 700 band in my area. And I pay both of them :-(
