Works in Carlsbad, CA. However my phone number is from Visalia, CA (Central California), not sure if that affects whether the feature gets activated.

So this is not done by area since I'm in Miami and it ain't working for me.

I just spoke with AT&T and the operator confirms that in order to enable AT&T Wi-Fi calling, AT&T requires you to have the "unlimited voice plan".

Running in airplane mode with wifi on, received and made a call with no noticeable difference. I have to leave the microcell on for the wife, so it will default to that if I turn airplane mode off.

I haven't tested quality between WiFi calling and microcell.

I will most likely unregister my number from the microcell and keep it up for my wifes phone.

Does it handoff calls like it does with the microcell?

Another surprise: I was told it doesn't work if you have "unlimited data"
(in other words, the old customers can't get it).

WOW!! Totally not surprised. Once the 6s comes out, i'm switching to T-Mobile. At&t couldn't value their customers any less. I've been with them since 2004.

Clearly AT&T is manipulating customers to get them off the "Unlimited Data" plan.

Clearly. I've used about 19GB of data this month and i've been throttled to the point that my phone is unusable on AT&T after I go past 5GB. I'm getting about .05 mbps on full LTE signal right now.

...but then you would lose your unlimited data plan anyway. What's the point?

Live in Richmond, VA. At least for me. I tried it over the course of a week. Wasn't working and I tried again today. It activated and appears to be working.

So I have two SIM cards on two different AT&T accounts. The first screenshot is with an AT&T account that is NOT based (for billing purposes) in my current location - and has unlimited data.

The second screenshot is my personal line, which is a mobile value share plan with 3GB of data. Someone here has already mentioned that its working for them in VA Beach, where I am also. So based off of that info, and the fact that my personal SIM is stating the service is 'not available for my account', while the other SIM I use for traveling is still giving the generic 'not avail in your area yet' message - it looks to me like this may in fact be an account thing, as some of you have suspected already. I guess it wouldn't be surprising if the make this unavailable for those with unlimited data still.

Using an unlimited data SIM card with a different area code, while located in VA Beach (Where this has been confirmed to work) gives a 'not available i your area', which is hilarious considering as soon as I switch to the local personal SIM (still in Va Beach) I get an entirely different message, saying my account does not support the feature. That's weird. I was the one who said that it worked in Va Beach, Va.
I turned it on just the other day.
