OH WOW!!!! KFC has a few spots in Athens, so HOPEFULLY I can try that.

Question...whats this deal with bacon and chocolate now?

chocolate covered bacon is not a new thing but it is a delightful snack if you have a pack of tollhouse morsels and a pound of bacon handy.

even better is bacon dippedc in chocolte anf then breaded in those canned french fried onions that get used with gree beans during thanks giving....OMG I'm pregnant aren't I?

Healthy

So we can now do a study, compare posters today against the original posters in 2004:

How many of the bacon-lovers are still alive?

How many of the bacon-abstainers are still alive?

Maybe bacon has some secret healthy property that offsets the cholesterol induced heart disease.

Gotta say I am not a fan of the bacon over here in London

I like my bacon crispy

Over here in London, I go to the breakfast buffet at the Marriott
Their bacon is listed as "streaky bacon" and "back bacon"
Neither of them look like they have been properly cooked at all :(
The "streaky bacon" would be ok if they just fried it up a while longer
The "back bacon" looks more like undercooked ham that couldn't make it as real ham

And don't get me started on the beans and mushrooms on the breakfast buffet

But hey, the fruit is good :)
Bananas, cantaloupe, honey dew, watermelon

Judging from your constant complaining about London in this thread and the pizza thread, perhaps you'd feel more at home in France. ;)

Ha! I would feel more at home AT HOME!! :)

I am just tired of the room service food here after a month and a half, that's all
I can't say anything about London really, because I haven't been to the city at all, just the airport and the hotel

Wow, so I woke up earlier thinking I might like to make myself a BLT, and I said to myself "hey maybe I'll resurrect the MR bacon thread beforehand" so I sign and... What are the chances that it was already done!?

Anyway, I'm minutes away from BLT deliciousness.... Homegrown lettuce and tomato, some scrumptious bacon and mayo on toasted white bread. Can't beat that.

State of Denial
This has to be one of the oldest threads on MR. First post Feb 2004.

I'm going to call this an oldie, but a goodie...

Recently switched to turkey bacon, while not as good as the real stuff the trade off it worth it.

Is that sour kraut inside the dog?

Fascinating.

I do a bacon wrapped johnsonville smoked bratwurst 6 of them at a time usually take an hour to bake in the oven on a broiler pan because I wrap them in about 1.5 pounds of bacon (roughly 1/4 pound per wurst) Then I put them on a hoagie roll with hot dog relish kraut and onion sauce
