One of the greatest meals I've ever had, was on a cold and wet quay at Harwich waiting for the ferry.

Two bacon butties:D

I have never been able to recreate the taste here in mainland Europe :(

They don't even sell the right cut of bacon here. I miss that and real chips too.

Sometimes chewy is good, sometimes crispy is good. As long as it's thoroughly cooked -- I hate when I get served raw bacon.

Same here. I also prefer lean bacon... meaning mostly meat. I hate having to wade through a battlefield of fat to get to the good stuff.

I love bacon as long as it's not crispy. I like my bacon chewy!

Agreed! :)

In my case, it's fillings. Last thing I want is for something to break, and I recall years ago when my mom introduced me to non-bacon Bacos, whose rock hard bits rivaled Grape Nuts for tooth-cracking goodness.

Chewy bacon also means the many flavorings will actually be savored. Crunchy bacon is too much like burnt toast, and I pity those of you who cannot enjoy fully-flavored meat properly.

My mom, who works at a BK, says that they are preparing to release them nation-wide!

Has anyone had Wright's peppered bacon? This stuff is the bomb, but our local Sam's Club no longer carries it. What gives? Anyone know where else to find it???

Wrights is my favorite by far and I can find it at my local Wally World. However, I had to go to Tennessee and I had this bacon from Benton's. The curing process is different and the taste is amazing. I wanted to bring some back but my 6 hour drive wouldn't really be great for the bacon.

This has to be the only thread on MR, where, even if there's disagreement, we all just get along for the appreciation of bacon.

Bacon could end all wars.
