Apple Extended Keyboard II (M3501)
"Beautiful vintage mechanical keyboard for a true geek or for collection (model 1994).
After multiple tests, this keyboard offers unparalleled performance in both typing comfort and key repetition speed.
Recommended use: For a casual player (?), it will be impossible to tell the difference between a conventional keyboard. For an expert, the minimal difference between feeling each switch will be decisive and synonymous with victory on the playing field. (????)
Warning: keyboard sold as found, with some residual traces of beard and cat hair hidden between and underneath the keys.
Give new life to this exceptional keyboard."
Price: €1000 ($1093) !!!!!
Sounds like this guy used to write for the "J Peterman" catalog!

Here's a fun one...$300 bucks for a DP 2?!?! NUTS!

What's even better...the demands! I would love to reply to folks like this and tear in...One could buy a brand new in box apple wired keyboard for like 50 bucks. What a complete rip off:

<picture snipped>

Since you're from my neck of the woods, Meijer in Wyoming has the wired keyboards for less than $40 on closeout right now. They also have the wireless ones for around $50, IIRC.

Did you see this Cube post that's been on the Grand Rapids CL for over a year now?

It started out at around $1250, and has slowly gone down in price. Lately, though, he's been bouncing the price up and down by $50-$100. Might be a good deal for a diehard if it's collector quality, although it comes with that CRT monitor. I don't begrudge anyone trying to get maximum dollars for their wares, but that's a bit high for me, even with the original boxes.

Unfortunately, I missed a 500mhz Cube a couple of weeks ago for $100, and only by a few minutes. Grrr.

Also, a personal rant. I can't stand folks that don't list any technical specs of the machine. I always make sure to note everything from processor, video card to hard drives. If you're lazy, at least point to every mac or something.

Yeah... my favorites are the "Mac Laptop" posts that only say "Works good" with no pictures, no specs, no price, nothing. You email them for more information and they say they know nothing about Macs, but it's "a black laptop" and they have no way to take pictures of it. Don't these people have cell phones, even cheapo ones? Laziness, IMO.

Holy cow, I wish I would have noticed this sooner. That's a good price for wired keyboards. Speaking of over priced PowerPC equipment, our area seems to be saturated with it. Check out this Dual 2.5 for $1500. Although, some of that pro tools hardware is impressive. Not sure about it's current street value.

To be fair, a lot of people in the music trade still run their G5 rigs precisely because of the cost of the additional hardware and software sunk into them. There was a documentary on Jeff Lyne (ELO, Traveling Wilburys) the other year and his home studio still ran a G5 as the main workstation.

That's not bad for that rig, although you could put that $1500 towards something much more modern and powerful, which is what he probably bought and why he's now selling this one...

There's a decent 2.5 quad G5 for $200 on the GR CL right now (EDIT: it's down to $150 now). I thought about it but didn't want to deal with the LCS.

The keyboards are gone. I stopped there yesterday to do some grocery shopping and checked to see if there were any wireless ones left. Nope.

You aren't kidding about the overpriced PPC kit, although I have gotten some decent deals from time to time on Intel machines ($50 for my Blackbook, and $50 for a white 2008 Macbook that my son uses).

Here's another old listing that's been frequently relisted on the GR CL for a while now, that'll most likely never sell:

Small world...That's my Quad ;) Still haven't fully committed to selling it, but I have it out there in case the right buyer comes along.

This is the worst ad I've ever seen. The fact the person either thinks, or attempts to make you believe it's an iMac G3, it's worth a thousand euros, and that it works, just is insulting. I even emailed him "This is a joke ad, right?". So far no response. I can't tell if it is a joke, a scam, or simply the seller being a huge idiot.

The comment you make regarding the iBook G4 is interesting, "that'll most likely never sell".
Obviously it depends to a large extent on the condition, and on the local/national market, but in extremely good condition it didn't strike me as being ridiculously priced. I say that just by looking at the national market here in France. There are many iBook's on offer of similar spec to the one you show at $175.
These are just a few I've just found listed, all private sales:
180€ ($203); 190€ ($214); Two at 200€ each ($226); 210€ ($237); 230€ ($260). There are others from 60€ ($68) but not in particularly good condition.
Oh, and I've left the 'best' for last. Comes with an OS Tiger manual (not the DVD), power lead slightly damaged, and (as always) a dead battery. At least the seller did have the decency to say that he will except close offers!
The price? A cool 350€ ($395). That makes the one you indicate quite a 'bargain'..........:p

Prices in Europe are significantly higher, secondly it's Grand Rapids.

rare iMac G3 i guess..

eBay isn't popular in the Netherlands at all. The bidding system and fees aren't liked very much. Marktplaats.nl is the number 1. Ads are free (although they do try to get you to pay for extra exposure), if you bid, it isn't a contracted deal and it's all up to the seller to decide when they accept a bid, and up to bidders to actually buy it or not. That said, Marktplaats was bought out by eBay in the early 2000s, only a few years after the site had launched.

I can't quite match that iMac for 1000€ in post #237, but just seen this classic bit of nonsense for an iMac G3........

Ad reads, "I found this in my grandparent's basement. I don't know the specs. I've just been to see an adviser and been told that it's worth between 500€ and 750€. I'm asking 650€."
THAT folks is a whopping $735. Now don't all rush to buy!!

iMac cheepo.jpg

I guess it's the same here as in US, sometimes you have to pay to get them taken away! I have several G3's in great condition, and never paid more than 32$ even for a superb, scarce 'FlowerPower' model.

That sounds like a waste of time to me. I wouldn't want to buy or sell there by the sound of it.

It is no different from Gumtree in the UK (also owned by eBay) or Craigslist. It is just a glorified small ads portal.

The system has worked solidly for years, although scamming is way easier so one has to be a bit more suspicious, or insist on paying through PayPal, or only pick up objects instead of shipping.

DUAL CORE MDD anyone .... At a great price... About usd300.

Its a remote State of the country... It is believed that head hunting still exists over there !
