Battery capacity and battery health is not the same?

Then tell me why my phone never gets hot when charging to 80%?

‘I do not know. Maybe all phones are not the same. I turned off the 80% limit last night and plugged in the charger and this am the phone is room temp, not even the slightest bit warm.

This is not my imagination, I have owned every phone since the 3G and have never seen this before.

The manufactures always say that when the phone is new, the battery takes a couple of weeks of recharge to reach its full potential, it stays that way for some time before start degrading

So I was shocked that before it could even reach its full potential it started degrading, even if its .5%
Its not a big deal for me, it's just that I have never seen something like this in my previous 3 iPhones.
I’m not saying that they’re lying but I’ve never heard that before.

I’ve heard that accurate percentage estimates require a few cycles.

And you should do this routinely, at least every few months, especially if you are obsessed about battery state.

29 cycle count and my 15 pro max is at 99% battery health already. My iPhone 14 Pro Max took half a year before it got to 99%. Haha

I am glad it’s not just me then after 26 charges down to 99% health. Thought my 14 Pro was bad but now same issue sooner. I understand it’s a battery etc but as other people have stated it’s bad that from the iPhone 6 to the 11 Pro Max my battery health always stated at 100% after 1 year of use.

Did you check how many mAh full charge capacity your battery had when it was new? It is likely matter of how good/bad battery you get. If it is weak from the start it likely also gets weaker fast. I've seen that before and this time with our two 15 PM again shows this, one that started with strong battery is actually getting even a bit stronger in first two months while the one that had weak battery (lower FCC mAh) from the start has been going down ever since. The strong one started at 4538mAh and is now hovering around 4450mAh but the weaker one that started at 4501mAh is already down to 20-30mAh. Also monitoring these while they are in use (iMazing allows you to see battery data while in use, but notice that it will updated once every 1 minute or so, it is not real time reading) I see that FCC in strong one dips very little under load while in weaker one easily takes even 50mAh dives. Both ones have Desay battery and mainly charging with Apple 5W charger. Difference in usage is that stronger one gets some abuse while the weaker one is babied, so it does not really make much difference at the start.

Thanks for replying. I didn’t check the battery prior to first use unfortunately didn’t know you could do this, is this an app or website IMazing to check the battery levels? It just seems on the new iPhones battery drains at rapid speeds since fast charging was a thing. I have always had optimised charging enabled only use the Apple plug and lead and it’s never charged at night straight off the charger at 100%.

Its obviously a problem that they haven't fixed since the 14 pros had the same issue, garbage batteries.

Unacceptable.

My guess is that your battery was weak already when new and it is deteriorating and maybe faster than if it was strong one when new. I'm witnessing that with our two identical 15 PM's, the one that was weaker when new is getting weaker much faster while the stronger one is actually improving. That iMazing is website you can download app for Mac and Windows, even free version allows to see battery health.

Surely rapid charging will likely shorten battery lifespan but I doubt it makes much at all noticeable difference in the first few months, it is inherent problem in certain batteries. Again, good example our two 15 PM's where one with stronger battery gets abused but still getting stronger and the weaker one babied and still getting weaker.
