Just as more anecdotal evidence, I wake up at 5:45 every morning. With moderate to light usage my iPhone 7+ will be dead by 10 AM. It will drain 10% an hour in standby. Putting it in power saver mode seems to help some. It’s very crazy.

Latest update for iOS11
IPP 12 G2 - battery life is about 60% compared to iOS 10
Mini 4 - battery Life is about 80%+ compared to iOS 10
7+ - Battery life is about 70% compared to iOS 10

All devices have been reset and installed as new in an attempt to fix other errors / crashes. A reset did help on battery life but it is not close to what it was on 10.3.3

Couple of strange battery observations over the weekend:
  1. 7+ at 54% when I plugged it in. It immediately jumped to 62%. Immediately unplugged when I saw that and it stayed at 62%. Instant charge?
  2. IPP stayed at 100% for almost 30 minutes then rapidly dropped to 92% within a few minutes
  3. Mini 4 - charged from 73% to 100% in less than an hour. Takes 3+ hours to charge from 50% to 100%.
There is something causing inconsistency with battery level. :(
I left my iPhone 5S iOS 11 in flightmode with 97 % not charging for the night. In the morning it said 100 % then drains like crazy.

This is what most are seeing. Crazy battery stats. So your phone, off the charger actually went up over night?

Wow I dodged a bullet by not upgrading my iPad Pro 12.9 2nd gen to iOS 11. 60% of iOS 10 battery life is unacceptable. I am getting 2 days battery life currently on 10.3.3. My 7 Plus battery life seems to be around 55% of iOS 10 and iPad Air 2 at around 70%.

A normal time frame under 10.3.3 would give 3+ days between charges. Now it requires a recharge during day 2.
Something is definitely up with this release.
Getting into the habit of plugging it each night now. Back to the old ways till they find the issue and fix it.

So this is my two-years-old 6s battery performance between iOS 11.0.3 and 11.1 Public beta 3:

I've noticed significant battery life reduction since iOS 11. To the point where I just keep my phone on charge at work all the time.

Also noticed that charging takes a lot longer now - used to be much faster at getting the % up.

Clean install with 11.0.3 on my 6S Plus. Battery life is garbage.

I exported a raw file from Lightroom Mobile and I saw the battery drop 4% in an instant. I did like 5 of these and my battery went from 60% to 40%. Ouch. And the app seems to be taking a while to make the file than it use to.

What's strange is that I'll charge it, and the battery will go from 40% to 60% in like 10 minutes.

Look no further, Wifi Calling is your main culprit.

The battery in the latest beta seems good. No need to keep the phone in low power mode all the time. Back to two days on a single charge on my IP 7+.

How did you do that ? Fresh install ? I still need to keep the phone in low power. 6 hours tops

Gez, you would think that since the iPhone traditionally has a reputation for terrible battery life that they would have concentrated on that during the year long beta testing they did...strange right...unless it was planned that way.

Clearly Apple is not one to make mistakes which is why it is clearly deliberate.

Word on the street is a class action suit is being considered.

My iPhone SE have great battery time with latest 11.1 beta 3

My iPad Air 2 have horrible battery time with 11.0.3

Just because one doesn't wish to consider another explanation, doesn't mean that another one is therefore a given and a fact. Logic doesn't quite work that way.

You are correct but this is a corporation that had plenty of resources, time and tens of thousands of volunteer beta testers and still released this crapware iOS 11. Think about it...they are fing you without even buying you dinner first!

This deceptive business practice might be acceptable to you but it not to me.

Let us know how you make out.
I have done this and it had minimal affect. Then again I don't have a lot doing this.

Prior to doing this I've taken other steps/measures on my iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch (IOS4) to alleviate the battery drain issue on all of my devices (since installing IOS 11 and IOS 4 on the watch).

After one day; I noticed that the iPhone (battery drain) was basically the same, the iPad Pro seemed to be a little better with the biggest improvement in battery performance was my Apple Watch. I'll give it one more day and compare again.

Oh good god.

No one is saying iOS 11 is a great release, far from it in fact. But going into “deceptive business practice” B.S. conspiracy theories or playing some sort of victim card is beyond laughable.

If it’s that bad for you, there are no shortage of other branded smartphones for you to choose from.

Good luck to you in finding a new forum to entertain yourself.
