Wow! Installing apps literally ate the battery. It dropped down from 45% to 15% and i needed to plug it to the charger. The phone was hot as hell too.

What phone? My 6S has been doing this on 11.1b2 and 11.1b3. I've reported it once - I'm going to get a screen video when I go in an manually update tonight and report it again.

It's easily half that of iOS 10. I keep looking at the battery percentage all day. Once it goes below 50% it starts to drain 1% per minute. Web browsing on LTE especially even on good signal wrecks the battery.

Haven't seen the rapid drain under 50% thankfully but the overall battery life is dismal.

Your morning use literally looks like 100% screen on time. Is that your normal pattern?

I live on the left coast and my cohorts live on the right coast. So I do a lot of my initial day review in the first 3 hours or so. I do keep my screen brightness at 30% or less ...

At this point ...
Usage: 5:42
Standby: 10:18
Percentage 28%

I did have a couple of conf calls (speakerphone).
The majority of my day is on wifi. I average 5ghz at 175 down and 25 up with 11ms ping for signal.
Call is via LTE as wifi calling has not been dependable.

Is this normal? IPP 9.7 128 GB wifi, iOS 11.0.3:

(Last 24 hours).

P.S. Battery is down to 56% in that image. It's 7:25 PM, local time.

Brightness at 48%. Auto-lock set to 5 minutes.

Battery has degraded 10% of its original capacity, so it can last up to 9h of video if I am not mistaken (10h for my brand new iPAD).

No it’s not. iPad Pro 9.7 users should easily get around 14-15 hrs of usage. My iPad with moderate use easily gets that much on iOS 10.

So it’s not as bad as my iPhone but not good either.

Yes, 6s+

31% lost battery life on last night :/ battery stat does not tell anything odd.

Don't keep it turned on at night. I lose 10-15% every night on my 7 Plus lately on Beta 3 for so,e reason ,just idling. Turn off the phone. Even with low power mode it drains 8-10%

Low power mode seems to make no difference with whatever this is.

has anyone else noticed this?

Yesterday my battery was at 41% on the Plus by 4pm.. this phone has never reached 50% at that time unless I was on it the whole time.

My phone right now is at 81% and it’s been used for only 20 min.

My phone usually at this time is at 95-96%.

Have you done a hard reset since the update? My finace's 6s+ was chewing through her battery after the update to iOS 11 and I finally made her do a hard reset while I watched (as opposed to her saying she did it just to appease the nerd in me) and she hasn't complained about it since.

Wow - you do that without checking the battery usage to even see what is causing it???

Or doing a hard reset?

The battery seems to have improved a little after auto-lock was changed from 10 to 5 minutes and I let it run down to 3% before recharging. I don't think it was the update realized this week for a few apps, since they were not the most used from that list.

This is another thing I want to ask: could it be that some specific apps need to be perfected (receive further updates) to waste less battery? Or maybe it's Safari that needs badly?

It's possible. Facebook had a bad update and it was rinsing through battery last year. It's improved but will always eat it.

I was having problems since ios11 with YouTube eating it. So I deleted it and reinstalled and it's been behaving since.

Tapatalk has been using the battery 74% (33min on screen)... hmm... i dont think so... a while ago i had 48% left, now an hour later or so, i have only 25% left and the phone was on the table...

I went from having the best battery life I ever had on a iPhone with my 7 plus to one of the worst I’ve ever had just downloading iOS 11.

I’m not using the phone any different than I did before. It’s unbelievable how bad it is now.

Yesterday I had 5 1/2 usage with 25% remaining. iOS10 I would have well over 8 hours of usage with 25% battery.

Beta 2 was AMAZING with my iPhome 7 Plus battery. Better than iOS 10 at its best. Now beta 4 literally depletes my batery like butter. It scares me
That this is GM potentially!

I have no idea whether nPlayer and ProTube are or aren't battery draining apps. But I will throw mine as a reference on a stable iOS: I'm on iOS 9.3.4 on my 9.7 Pro and it generally lasts 14 hours. On 50, it's generally at 7.5 to 8 hours, but my usage in those occasions is fairly light. At first glance, it seems low, but I do not have the full picture to know for certain. On heavier usage, it lasts closer to 12. 5 still seems slightly low on 50%.Nothing terrible, of course.
I will offer a curious stat though: I had a few books to read on iBooks and I am extremely surprised about how long my iPad lasted only using iBooks at low brightness. It lasted 22 hours (That is, again, screen on at all times. I know, hard to believe, but all I used was iBooks.)

I’m thinking about rolling back as well to 10.3.3

What about iOS 11.1?
Is that supposed to fix the drain issue?

Different people are having different experiences. Hard to say what it would be like for you aside from you experiencing it yourself essentially.

Much worse than you can ever imagine, we hope the upcoming ios 11.1 would address all the major issues and lags with iOS 11 as a whole because right now it's filled with too many bugs and lags and glitches

You can't. You are stuck on iOS 11 now.
This is what Apple needs to address the issue where someone can't downgrade after upgrading is too bad

I'm on iOS 11.1 dev beta 5 and my iPhone 7 is draining much faster than on iOS 10. Lost 20% of battery during the last 4 hours, only used it for some emails and WhatsApp messages.
