Hey, its de ipad pro 11inch 256gb lte ( cellular) model

When does the new imac comes out?

I send this to apple with pictures so now they cant say they aint see a anything

These are great photos!

Once again this confirms it only happens to the LTE models so far! I am holding on to the 12.9 version and LTE model which also confirms a slight bend from the antenna band onwards. This is only on the shorter side of the ipad and the longer end is perfectly fine.

My best guess as to the new iMacs would be Summer 2019 at WWDC. Personally I wouldn't even bother unless it was a redesign with slimmer bezels and FaceID built in but who knows if apple will do that.

As for your iPad, my god yes that's bent. I just returned mine and bought the cheeper iPads as xmas gifts for the family and debating on getting one myself as a hold over until they fix this issue (if at all)

So you returned to Apple, presumably for a replacement and they returned it?

Probably better to return for refund then reorder.

as a construction pro (I'm in same field) you should take a look at the Surface Pro's. Crazy durable and will run standard apps (aka anything Autodesk). I am still on the fence myself as the tablet experience on S Pro isn't great, but the device sure is built well and offers an opportunity for light construction app work when I am away from my more powerful office laptop

I can say the same for my Samsung galaxy book 12........it’s a keeper.

Well i returned it,5 days ago. i sended it to towards apple for a replacement but they say: we aint find anything so they send me the same ipad back. Now i put some big pictures into the box with the apple ipad and send it for a second time back. If i get a ipad thats bend again or they return the same device back. I refund my full amount. I will travel to the official apple store to show them this.

Becuase on the phone apple is like: well do you think this is a problem? Its like talking to a computer they cant understand that 1250 euro's is alot and we want a flat tablet. All i ask

I own a 256gb 11in WiFi model. Didn’t notice any bending on mine.

Not sure on when a new iMac comes out. They’re already late 6 months. I wouldn’t buy a 2017 (current) model today until it’s significantly cheaper.

planned obsolescence taken to a whole new level. other companies will follow suit. its getting ridiculous

How is it planned obsolescence? There's no indication that these bends will in any way cause malfunction if handled like any 1300$ piece of electronic equipment should be handled.
I bet my ass that these iPads will last much longer than the first gen iPad did (that was built incredibly sturdy by the way).

All things said however, this level of build quality is not something I expect from a 4-figure tablet. It's something I'd expect from aliexpress 200$ knockoffs.

I don't think it's acceptable at that price point, but i also believe it won't obstruct functionality in any way.

Edit:
also i don't think its a defect; i think it's a fundamental production line flaw and if they want to pursue the same design bend-less they'll need to adjust it.

I don't think the A12 chip ever reaches temperatures that would heat the aluminium enough to cause structural integrity issues. At that point it would probably be too hot to even handle.

I agree with you for the most part, but:

If it is bend there is tension on the display. This stress can have impact on the longevity of the product. Think touch issues, cracks in the glass etc.

I agree with you however this is probably not planned obsolescence, but more likely a sloppy Q&A, which does not fit the price point.

Well, I got mine out this morning and it appears to have a bend in it... I don’t think anybody sat on it but can’t guarantee it as it was on the couch overnight. It’s a slight bend but it is there now dang it

Well, I broke down a few weeks ago, and decided to order one of the new 12.9 LTE models. This, after returning the 11” with all its kit, because I didn’t feel it was worth the money. What forced my hand was, that I sold my 10.5” three weeks before the new models came out, at an amazing price, fully expecting to love, and keep the new model. Imagine my dismay when I sent it all back to Apple for refund! I took over my husband’s 10.5” iPad Pro, because, well, he rarely touches it, unless he’s going to a medical conference. Well, he just scheduled an upcoming conference, and asked me when he could have “his” iPad back.

I was so nervous waiting for the 12.9” LTE 1tb to arrive. I opened the thing, inspected it, and saw what looked like a little bit of a bend, on both short sides of the iPad, right where others show them. Then, I did the smart thing, and laid it on a fully flat surface, with just the camera bump laying off the edge, to see if it was flat. To my surprise, the dang thing was completely flat, no bend at all, despite my eyes indicating there was one, when looking at it held in the air, not on a flat surface.

It has now been a week and a half of solid use, and I checked again this morning, in the same place, in the same manner, and it is still completely flat.

Also, I paid the $4.99 for this third party keyboard, called handy keyboard, and I’ll be if that thing isn’t great! It gives a split keyboard to the 12.9” iPad! Is it perfect, far from it, is it worth the $4.99, hell yeah! It’s so amazing having a split keyboard back on the 12.9” Pro! For those of you with the 11” model, for some reason, people report on the App Store that Handy Keyboard doesn’t work on that model, so you’re kinda out of luck there.

What model is that Dutch?

I would also advise you AGAINST buying a new iMac today. The model is going on two years of age without updates. I own the 2017 summer model and it’s the same one being sold today.
Depends. New iMac will probably have T2 chip so might have issues like others.

Ridiculous. Apple proud of this? Saying you should accept it though.

That looks very similar to how my 12.9'' was curved.

Just shows people try and see and convince themselves otherwise. Maybe people need to enjoy their devices and not get Obsessed on it

Being dissatisfied with a bent device is hardly obsessing. A straight device makes enjoying it much easier, as is the case with most cases when a product seems visually flawless - from any angle.

Game- Just to clarify, I wasn't obsessed, or trying to convince myself of anything. I am a longtime Apple product owner, and I own a significant amount of their stock, so their success is important to me. My first computer as a child was an Apple II/e. I currently own two iPads, an Hermès Apple Watch, an iPhone XS Max 512gb, a 2018 Core i9 MacBook Pro, two 4k AppleTV units, four HomePods, and all sorts of Apple accessories for these items. I am clearly a decent Apple customer. I run my photography business with my Apple gear.

My post was to point out that not all of these iPads are warped or bent, and that they do, to an extent play/trick ones eyes when looking at them held in the air. I fully believe a good number of these iPads are arriving bent, and with real issues. I had ample evidence to be concerned as to what condition mine would arrive in. I was pleased to see that my pad was flat, when laid on a flat surface, but I was prepared to return it, had it displayed a bend. I think it is wise to check these devices against a flat surface once one takes ownership of one, because they are not cheap, and there is a decent chance the unit will have some sort of a bend fresh out of the box. If what is happening with these iPads that I suspect is happening, they look fine in the factory, and fine going into their boxes. It is in transit that the plastic and metals, as they harden, set, and dry are causing a bend to form, particularly where the LTE antenna line is, as it is some form of plastic bonding to aluminum. So, for those stating these are not bending themselves, and that someone clearly had to do the damage, I say that is not necessarily so.

Has anyone not seen noticeable bending on the iPad but noticed their iPad does not lay flush with a flat surface (screen down)? Not sure what to make of it, since I don’t see the terrible bend a few people have, yet its clear my iPad isn’t perfectly straight.

I’m talking about those who no bent but are obsessing over each angle to convince themselves that it is bent

Those who have clear bend now that’s something different

Oh I agree with what you’re saying completely. It’s too easy for the eye to think something is bent due to seeing others being bent

I posted pics on here and some here said I should return mine as it’s bent but on my experiences that’s not something that looks bent to me and a few others here also said it looks ok

I decided to measure it properly and there is no bend. My wife to be said it looks more straight than bent but like anything different angles can look different and how you take a picture can make it seem not straight

I have had 6 iPhones, 2 iPad Pros, 3 non Pro larger iPads and 2 minis and known have ever been bent. I work on a set with literally 50 iPads in use every day, no bent ones. I know dozens of folks with scads of apple products and no bent devices. I feel pretty confident that this is NOT some design issue no matter how much you think you ‘baby’ your stuff.
And how exactly was it bent from the factory and you didn’t notice it for over two weeks? If you carry it everywhere and not in a bag, I’d think you’d notice something like that right away.
Yeah apple will probably swap it this one time just to shut you up but that’s all it will be.

He is not lying. Maybe you need to check properly! Apple confirms!

It's looking more and more like the 11" is the model to skip. Apple will quietly fix it next year. Hopefully by then iOS will be more up to the task of taking advantage of the increase in proscessing power.

Think more than anything these reports makes us paranoid. Without threads like this I wouldn’t even be looking at it from different angles

Amazing what the mind does to you and makes you think

Exactly. This is turning into one of those Blue dress Gold dress things. Is it bent? Or not bent?

After the price hike on the new phones this is the follow-up , good maybe apple can finally wake up and take a huge loss and next year they can appreciate their long time customers and give them the pre Tim Cook quality.

But for this GEN , they can keep it.
