Are you kidding me? iPhones have the worst battery lives ever. Everybody I know has problems with bad problems with batteries. Even my $100 Motorola's battery is better and lasts longer than iPhone SE's 2020. iPhones immediately also shut down when it's too cold and you can't use it outside. It always shuts itself down and then you gotta find a place to go inside and warm it up like a little baby. Pixel does not have such problems.

You really didn't tell me what's wrong with Pixel and I refuse to believe that iphones battery life is better than Pixels. Plain out refuse. iPhones are famous for their awful battery lives. Every single person that I know has problems with iPhones battery. Every single one.
No, not in my experience. I've had an XR, and now 12. Both do better than the 3XL I had, and the 4XL I have now. The S20 Ultra and Note 20 Ultra also do better, and get a full day out of both Apple and Samsung vs the Pixel running the same apps. Sorry my experience doesn't fit your narrative, and/or argument. Just like you, I know quite a few folks using Pixel devices, and they all said that they wish battery life was better. I'm sure if I turned off various things it would improve, but what's the sense in that? Why get a phone if you can't use all the features? Seems to defeat the purpose to me...?

The issue I have with the Pixel and Samsung devices is that they do not integrate as well as Apple devices overall. You can scream and yell, and get animated that the experience is the same, and that some how I'm not doing something right, but the overall experience FOR ME is better w/ Apple vs. the alternative.

If I could have the pixel running on Samsung hardware, and the integration of Apple I'd never look back. But for me, after using them all for a period of time, my experience has been that Apple is better....FOR ME.

I'm a huge Android fan but neither of these arguments will support your case. My iPhone 12 Pro Max battery is just as good as my S21 Ultra and better than my Z Fold 2 or Pixel 4XL battery. It is also better than my Note 20 Ultra which I gave to a family member recently.

I've had Android devices shut down when exposed to extreme temps as well.

Camera is subjective. I think my S21 Ultra is capable of the best shots, especially when using zoom. It's probably my favorite camera overall but I'd probably rank it just behind the 12 Pro Max and just ahead of the Pixel. The 12 Pro Max is so consistent in almost every situation and I can't say the same for the S21 Ultra or Pixel. But all of these devices have excellent cameras and wouldn't be much of a determining factor in which device I use. S21 Ultra is my overall favorite device and I use it on my personal line while using the 12 PM for my business line.
No, I refuse to believe it. Batteries are the main reason why I started disliking iPhones and am afraid to buy one. Everyone I know has problems. Every single person! Recently my father said that iPhone sucks, because he can't talk outside. It randomly shuts down when it's like -20C, but his Samsung does not do that.

Cameras are cameras. It all depends on the lighting, software and everything. About the battery, I refuse to believe you. It's funny that my iPad lasts forever and the iPhone doesn't.

You can believe what you want, but as someone who has extensive experience with almost every flagship from Apple or Samsung, I can tell you that's just not the case.

A budget phone like the iPhone SE, sure, it's battery isn't going to be great. The iPhone mini, sure. An older iPhone, ok, but all phone batteries lose capacity over time.

The 12 Pro Max, as well as 11 Pro Max have outstanding battery life. You can look at any battery comparison test on YouTube and see as much.

I can find alot of things to gripe about with the iPhone, but battery is not one of them. What kills the iPhone for me is still mostly software related. The only thing hardware wise that I can't stand is the stupid notch.

Also, while using my Note 20 Ultra on my boat last summer, it shut down on me a few times while using it to play music on the boat, not even sitting in direct sunlight. The Texas heat got to it, same as it did my iPhone.

Not apologetic, apple has the best research and development team in the business, they probably have a road map planned out a long time ago for new hardware and software at certain stages down the road when they feel it’s ready for prime time.
Best in the business? So this was done on purpose?

Funny some complaining still buy apple products.
I buy tons of Apple products and will continue to do so. I have had every iPhone since the very first one and upgrade every year.
But that doesn't mean I cannot demand more from them or point out when they miss the mark. I also recommend them to friends and family.

Only blind brand faith apologists believe Apple (or any company) does not make mistakes or has their best interest at heart. Only an apologist is afraid to point out a companies missteps.

Agree. I have a Logitech S3 and it’s on the front. I can use it when charging. Odd Apple couldn’t find a better solution.
They could have...but it would have compromised Jony Ive's aesthetics. Look at the 2013 Mac Pro - it's a beautiful piece of hardware that doesn't serve its target market whatsoever. The butterfly keyboard. The single port 12" MacBook etc etc.

Ive's form over function ego was rampant for a while after Jobs' death.

Looks like it may be the google foldable. Not interested really in leaving IOS rn but I'll be following rumours/leaks surrounding this device greatly. Would love to see google throw everything into making a true next gen foldable flagship.

Times have changed mate. I switched from the Note 10+ to the iPhone 11 Pro Max. Now I have a 12 Pro Max. I tried the Note 20 Ultra for a bit. Battery life on today’s mid size to larger iPhones (10xR, 11, 11 Pro, 11 Pro Max, 12 or 12 Pro Max) is insanely good. I’m a heavy phone user wake up between 6am and 7:30am, and an frequently at 70% by 7pm. I haven’t tried the S21 Ultra, but on the Note 10+ and Note 20 Ultra, I was at 30% at best by that time. In particular, iPhone standby time is insanely good. And again, I’m not a fanboy. I love different things about each platform and still have a Pixel 3A XL that I keep as a spare and to stay up to date on Android’s latest.

Wasting your time, some people only see big specs and nothing else, my 12 pro max with a way smaller battery than these android phones leaves them for dead when it comes to battery life, at the 50% mark I'll have 6 hours usage, can easily hit 10 hours usage with 15% battery left in the tank. this is from a 3,678 mAh battery.

Some people only see big specs in phones and nothing else, means nothing at the end of the day if the heart of the phone (processor) isn't up to par.

lol, no one i know with a iphone has a problem, if they did it's a easy fix with Apple, Samsung you may as well throw it in the bin than deal with their customer service.

You just have to wait years for Apple to acknowledge the issue, well worth the wait right?

Anecdotally, the issues I've had sorted by Samsung were done promptly and without issue or payment, sorted within weeks.

So, which phone, in your opinion, is the best alternative to the iPhone, Robster?

Could fill this whole thread with missteps from Samsung and other companies, if you enjoy using android Phones that’s fair enough, been there done that, nothing much has changed for me when it comes to android, my opinion I still think iOS is miles ahead. ?‍♂️

The temp range of the latest iPhones are from around -4F to 113F. Above or below is not recommended.
Then again the Galaxy is pretty much the same. I think they all are bound by the same limitations. So at extreme lows and highs to have a phone fail is not unexpected. There are phones designed for extreme weather.

They all have had missteps. For you to claim that Apple is miles ahead speaks of significant hubris.
We know you like Apple and hate Samsung. It would more appreciative if you could leave the fanboyism aside.
Thx.

Please don’t tell me you’re comparing Samsung customer support to apple. ?‍♂️ Not even in the same league ?‍♂️

Don’t hate anybody, just don’t like samsung screwing their customers, exynos 2100 s21s have had major issues here in Australia and Samsung are sweeping it under the rug and ignoring their customers. ?‍♂️

Every issue I've had has been sorted within weeks, I didn't have to wait months to years for a problem to be acknowledged, like the multitude of stories on this very site about class actions due to Apple sticking their head in the sand about product faults.

How about we start a comparison thread on how long it takes a company to act on a fault and resolve the users issue, go on, I'm keen.

But, in the meantime, how about saying which phone you think is the best alternative to iPhone and leave it at that, the war against Samsung doesn't need to be held here, make a thread specifically so all three or four of you can high five each other.

You're not using multiple accounts are you?

One account ?

Best alternative hey ? at the moment none, maybe one day if google works out which direction they’re going in, one minute flagship processors next minute mid range processors ?‍♂️ One minute face unlock similar to Face ID next minute gone, ?‍♂️

Haven’t updated their camera sensors in years, falling behind the completion.

A pixel 5 in Australia is $999 not wort the price for what you get. Google has a track record of not seeing things through.

A lot of people say pixel is the closes experience to a iPhone, if only they knew which direction they’re going in, not interested in mid range processors and poor build quality at crazy prices.

So in the meantime for me there is no best alternative to a iPhone, maybe in the future that will change. ?‍♂️

I have also had better customer service and support with Samsung.
I still stand with the iPhones batteries generally being worse. As someone who lives in a cold climate iPhones do shut off a lot randomly and the same thing doesn't happen with Android phones.

As I've said before, my friend has iPhone SE 2020 that she recently purchased and I wanted to get one too. So we did the exact same things on our phone and her phone died before mine did and I'm using $100 Motorola phone.

And yes, the topic is the best alternative to iPhone. I also got a warning from a moderator for insulting another member even though I highly disagree with it. The Android hater should be reported because he keeps going off-topic.

iPhone battery life before XR/iphone 11/iPhone 12 line i would agree wasn’t the greatest it’s why the iPhone 11 series got such big praise as battery life was amazing and still is. Can’t say I’ve had many times where my iPhones have just switched off that doesn’t sound normal. Not happened on my android phones either to be fair sometimes bugs can happen from time to time but thats as far as i would class it to be honest.

that old chestnut lol.

Bit mean liking someones post who tells a forum member to get a life as a come back, for the record. True colours.
Oh yeah! It totally fits doesn't it. I mean you can't make this stuff up...

Someone says this

All I gotta do is show them this....Prime Time!
