One Android feature coming to the iPhone 13 this year will be AOD Always On Display. Can't wait for that one.
I upgrade my iPhones every year.

But how will you use 120hz on a MBP when people really don't scroll that much on a laptop because of the bigger screen. But a phone and tablet the 120hz smooth motion is a great feature to have. But now if the MBP had a touchscreen then 120hz smooth scrolling would be awesome to have.
I have a 2019 MBP 15 and it does the job for me. Not looking to upgrade until I can get a touchscreen on a MBP.
Not sure about AOD, could be a battery hog, phone is always close by, like the one tap feature to wake up the screen with iPhones.

Spend most of my time in safari scrolling on my MacBook, now that apple has a more efficient chip in their Macs, pro motion could be a real possibility soon, got a M1 MacBook Pro and the battery life is amazingly good, don’t charge it for 10-12 days sometimes.

Apple won’t be releasing a touchscreen mac anytime soon, would eat to much into their iPad sales.

As someone who has had AOD on several Android phones over the years, it is absolutely not a battery hog. It makes little to no difference to battery life (most of the pixels on an AMOLED screen are off when it's in use anyway) and you can schedule it to only display at certain times.

This should have been on iPhones with OLED screens since the X. Being able to just glance across at your phone and see the time with zero interaction is a great feature. The tap to wake feature is fine for LCDs, though.

AOD is a great feature to have just look at the Appke Watch 6. It doesn't seem to be a battery hog on my AW 6 or S21 Ultra.

So you admit Apple crimps some products so as not compete with existing products. Goes to say they do that with all of their products. Glad you can admit that.

Wouldn’t say that, apple is apple, they won’t rush a feature or new hardware unless they 100% know it’ll work flawlessly and not cause issues down the road.

Apple watch has a LTPO display which makes AOD efficient, apparently apple couldn’t get Samsung to make them enough LTPO drivers for the 12 pro series, so apple being apple they didn’t want to jeopardize the user experience for their customers and canned that feature.

They were even late to the party when it came to 5G because the modems weren’t efficient enough.

I like apples policy if it ain’t working 100% the way we want, you don’t get it till it’s ready.

Might not be for everyone, I’ve got no issues with it.

side by side you can’t tell the difference when it comes to display quality, as I mentioned earlier 120hz isn’t needed on a small mobile display.
As you mentioned earlier, that was a flat out lie and you know it. ?
processor is very important keeps the phone running like a champ 24/7 Samsung users in Aus are getting constant overheating messages and camera lag.
Lol you and these "users in AU" ?. Processor power doesn't help you when you can't use it. It's like having a car with 200 on the dash, but the governor locks you out at 120. You can talk to me all day about how it's capable of 200, but if you can't use it, you haven't said anything that carries weight. The same concept applies with processor talk.
120hz isn’t noticeable on a small device, picked up a s20u in store last year, made sure 120hz was on, side by side with my iPhone was like yeah nothing special in my eyes, on a bigger display like a laptop or tablet I’d take it 100% that’s when you’d notice 120hz.
I don't think anyone here believes that for a second. The difference is quite clear and obvious.
Like i said, with the exception of 120 Hz, 12 Pro Max remains the BEST display. The only display that may knock it off is the S21 Ultra…but up to now, 12 Pro Max remains the best.
That's one heck of an exception to make. Lol so you want to disregard the biggest differentiator in an effort to make an argument in favor of the 12PM? ?
Create desktop experience? Like the stupid Dex thing?! LOL…good luck with that. Look at all the high-end productivity app on iOS that takes advantage of the processor….and compare that to the 2nd rate apps on Android.
Productivity apps on a small screen with no multitasking, isn't going to cut the mustard.
As for your mention of Dex, yes Dex. And it's actually quite useful when you're on the go. In my travel backpack, I keep an HDMI to USB C cable, a Bluetooth mouse, and small foldable keyboard to connect to my phone. This has kept me from having to bring a laptop with me many times.

Didn’t Android 11 cripple multi-tasking on Samsung phones? Oh yes it did! I think that Android 11 also cripple multi-tasking in general. LOL…didn’t think that i knew that, did you?! :D
Crippled multitasking? Where'd you hear that? I multitask just fine. I still split screen, do pop out windows, have bubbles, open and minimize apps, and run picture in picture. I don't know where you got that from, but you couldn't be more wrong.

As you can see in the first screenshot, I have the browser open, why my IHG app in a pop up, and a text message up in a bubble.
Screenshot_20210228-200243_Samsung Internet.png

As you can see in the second screenshot, I have a split screen going with the browser and IHG running, while also watching a video, and off screen I still have that same text bubble that I can swipe to bring back up to access.

Sorry...gotta call BS on the "won't release a feature unless it is ready" Apple has a long history or releasing products and features that were not ready or well thought out.

Then AOD has been around for 5 years it has evolved about as much as it can

yeah...we are not going to agree on things.
Especially when you says things like this......your blind brand favoritism shows

Because this was not fully thought out to work flawlessly and was panned even by most of the Apple faithful.

Wouldn’t call it brand favoritism, got confidence in buying iPhone because it works flawlessly for me and millions of other people also comes with the best customer support/service in the business. Using iPhones for 11 years now, never ran into any issues, a quality well made product when it comes to hardware and software.

That has been one long term wish that my iDevices multitasked as well as my Android.
Side note, the only device I have without a touchscreen is my MB.

Well, at least we all have plenty of choices these days that are all good. That hopefully we can all agree on. Personally I love different aspects of each platform.

Indeed. That's an area I simply don't understand Apple's reluctance to move forward with. I would expect them to eventually provide that functionality at some point though.

Nothing to move forward on, apple doesn't rush software or hardware, if they feel it ain't ready for prime time or not needed on a smart phone then tough luck that's the way it is, that strategy has been working flawlessly for 14 years now, proven with a great customer experience when it comes to software and hardware.

If iPhone users want split screen, Dex, and all the other so called features, no one is holding them back the door is that way ?? most of these features would be lucky if they have a 1% user base, looks like iPhone users are happy with the way things are considering iPhones smashed it again with iPhone 12s sales.

Lovely thing is no one is held hostage when it comes to choice, they can switch over whenever they feel like it.

That simply is not true. People should demand more from Apple. They should get the newest hardware and software features. That is just being prudent and good customers. One can still demand more from them and still be a loyal customer.

Then to be honest Apple has had many many blunders rolling out new features that already existed for years.

So they don't always wait to perfect a feature that has existed for years.
Sometimes they implement it wrong. They aren't perfect just like everyone else.

If we didn't demand more from them the iphone would vastly different than it is today.

Seems like what they’re doing at the moment is working, smashing phone sales year after year, I’m pretty sure their research and development team know what they’re doing.

Don’t want them turning the iPhone into a cluttered mess with a hundred extra features and settings that most people won’t use, one thing apple is good at is releasing new features slowly while keeping the user experience pretty much the same.

If something ain’t broke, why fix it.

Why are you so apologetic for them?
If customers didn't demand more from them the iphone would still be just like the Iphone 4. Small and behind the competition. Look what happens when Apple adds new features and designs the customers want. Sales go through the roof.

Not apologetic, apple has the best research and development team in the business, they probably have a road map planned out a long time ago for new hardware and software at certain stages down the road when they feel it’s ready for prime time.

Let’s face it not everyone is going to be happy with what apple puts in or leaves out of their phones.

At the end of the day for me it’s a smartphone which works incredibly well for me 24/7.

Rather apple focus on the hardware side of things like their chipsets which has been leading the industry for a very long time.

I concur. Over the last 6 months I’ve used a Pixel, S20 Ultra, and Note 20 Ultra. I jumped into the full Google ecosystem to try and mimic (as close as possible) to Apple’s, and it’s not as smooth or fluid. Some things are better, but the overall experience is lacking.

The Pixel was ok, and the stock android was nice. Both Samsung devices were incredibly nice; screen, build, and performance. But in the end it was all the small things in totality that brought me back to Apple. There are things I miss from both Pixel and Samsung, such as no notch, smaller icons, customizable spots and features. In the end I just want things to work all the time, and consistently. Apple continues to excel in that area...

Pixel is way better than iPhone. They take better pictures and everything works very well with Windows 10 as well. I couldn't find a thing that's missing, so tell me, what's missing and what didn't work?
My IT Security teacher said that with every device and operating system the problem is always between the computer and the screen and I agree with that.

What you said, including my post, is suggestive. Pixel is not “way better” if it doesn’t meet your needs or expectations. Not to mention the Pixel battery life is pathetic compared to both iPhone and Samsung. Camera is also suggestive. I’ve taken pictures with all three; each one has its strengths and weaknesses. Show 5 people pictures taken with all 3 phones, and you’ll get 5 different answers as to which ones are the best.

I agree with an old saying that has been true over the centuries; those that can’t do, teach.

Are you kidding me? iPhones have the worst battery lives ever. Everybody I know has problems with bad problems with batteries. Even my $100 Motorola's battery is better and lasts longer than iPhone SE's 2020. iPhones immediately also shut down when it's too cold and you can't use it outside. It always shuts itself down and then you gotta find a place to go inside and warm it up like a little baby. Pixel does not have such problems.

You really didn't tell me what's wrong with Pixel and I refuse to believe that iphones battery life is better than Pixels. Plain out refuse. iPhones are famous for their awful battery lives. Every single person that I know has problems with iPhones battery. Every single one.

I'm a huge Android fan but neither of these arguments will support your case. My iPhone 12 Pro Max battery is just as good as my S21 Ultra and better than my Z Fold 2 or Pixel 4XL battery. It is also better than my Note 20 Ultra which I gave to a family member recently.

I've had Android devices shut down when exposed to extreme temps as well.

Camera is subjective. I think my S21 Ultra is capable of the best shots, especially when using zoom. It's probably my favorite camera overall but I'd probably rank it just behind the 12 Pro Max and just ahead of the Pixel. The 12 Pro Max is so consistent in almost every situation and I can't say the same for the S21 Ultra or Pixel. But all of these devices have excellent cameras and wouldn't be much of a determining factor in which device I use. S21 Ultra is my overall favorite device and I use it on my personal line while using the 12 PM for my business line.
