Seriously though, if you're in a situation where you're using your phone and you think to yourself, "Man, I wish I could go deeper and longer", there are products for that.

It is not so that you can go diving……but i like the fact that it is a little over-engineered (in terms of seals) for those oops moment or those times in the pool for a period of time.

side by side you can’t tell the difference when it comes to display quality, as I mentioned earlier 120hz isn’t needed on a small mobile display.

Have to call BS on that one.
WHile depending on the users setting for cool/warm, tru-tone, light/dark, for the same settings the 12PM is not the best. It is close.
As for your comment on 120, LMAO!!!!! Paradigm much? You place them same size side by side ansd compare 120 to not and the difference is noticeable.

Not a game changer. I have iPad Pro 2020. Yeah little smoother. But it’s not like iPhone is a stuttering mess to begin with.

Water resistance is still luck based. Sometimes it works and other times it doesn't even in shallow water but, more importantly, it's not covered under warranty so that tells you how much confidence the manufacturers have. Some are having too much cool-aid.

Works for me and my pool.

Most just pass a “test” and the value as it applies to warranties degrades over time.

120hz isn’t noticeable on a small device, picked up a s20u in store last year, made sure 120hz was on, side by side with my iPhone was like yeah nothing special in my eyes, on a bigger display like a laptop or tablet I’d take it 100% that’s when you’d notice 120hz.

I own an iPhone 12 Pro Max, and I will stick to it, but this comment is very inaccurate. I used the Samsung Fold 2 for several weeks, and tried the Note 20 Ultra for a few days while I owned the 12 Pro Max. It is very noticeable with both devices. Frankly, I preferred watching shows in most apps on the Fold 2s screen than on my 75” 4K Samsung TV. That’s how good that display is at 120Hz. It is significantly smoother too. There really isn’t a comparison. Apple is far behind in this, and if you use your phone a lot, it makes a big difference. You see this at a store for a few minutes. I used these for 3 weeks total. If Apple doesn’t move to 120Hz or similar with the 13, i will switch back to Android. I’m staying because of the ecosytem and better quality apps.

Exactly what I said, on a bigger display like the fold 2 (tablet) it’s worth having 120hz, on a smaller screen like a mobile phone you’ll barely notice a difference.

Tried 120hz on a s20 ultra didn’t wow me at all.

Here’s my thing…i have iPad Pro 2020 vs. iPhone 12 PM.

Scrolling…sure iPad is smoother…but not that I would care much about.

Movies…still prefer my iPhone. Better HDR/Dolby Vision.

I read that HDR on Samsung flagships still lag behind iPhone 12 PM.

Sad to see the usual suspects are turning this into a "rah-rah, iPhone rulez" thread as usual. Knock it off, will you? Look at the title of the thread (and forum section you are in!) and ease up on the constant Android bashing.

Both platforms have their pros and cons. Apple is great within its own ecosystem and not so much outside of it. Android is like the Wild West at times, but is much more open. I've been using Apple products for over 25 years and still can't comprehend why some people feel forced to constantly big up everything they do, even when there are glaring omissions in their products at times.

I have to use both iPhones and Android devices every day as part of my work. My SIM is sitting in an iPhone as we speak, but I also have an Android phone with a 90 Hz display (not even 120 Hz like some devices) and the screen on the Android phone is far nicer and more fluid. To pretend otherwise is just nonsense. These screens exist on Android phones under £200! Why accept less for more money? What is this, Stockholm syndrome?

Irrespective of that, Apple damn well should have high-refresh displays on their phones at the price points they are charging. To have massive bezels on a "budget" £400 device and huge notches, no always-on display and no high-refresh screen on phones costing £1100+ is frankly scandalous in 2021.

The lack of all those features gives Android users a stick to beat the iPhone with and rightly so. Instead, Apple are selling magnetic chargers and stick-on wallets at £59 a pop while Samsung give users a full desktop OS (DeX) for free with a £599 S20 FE. Farcical.

what is “all those features” you speak of besides 120 Hz?

Dex?! Are you kidding me? Who has copied Samsung on this? LG? 1+? No one. You know why? It’s useless.

And these phones (besides S21 Ultra) that have 90-120 Hz….. are they color accurate? Bright? Proper HDR calibration? Black clipping?

Read XDA review of S21 Ultra display. Not the greatest HDR playback.

This reminds me of screen resolution argument from ignorant droid users. Lol

I just use the ignore function.

But forgive them, insecurity isn't something to be envied and ignorance and dishonesty aren't exactly good form either.
Imagine be desperate enough to lie to yourself, let alone others.....

Insecure much?

If I had the best phone in the world in my possession, I wouldn't waste my days bitchin about other devices.....on an "Alternative to iOS" section, but that's just me I guess.. I'd just be happy to have the best phone in the world ;)

I have both the S21 Ultra and a 12 PM and the 120hz is very noticeable to just about everyone in the world. Well except some Apple fans like you. But later this year when the iPhone 13 has 120hz...you will be the among the first to say how great it is and somehow Apple just does t better....

We just need to report the trolls. They will get warnings and then suspended. Otherwise they only come here to take the threads off-topic and rile people up.

They really are insecure. Just look at how much their phones mean to their identity and self worth that they have to put other choices down to make them feel better about their own choices.

That's your opinion, I've already got pro motion on my iPad Pro, on a bigger display it's more noticeable, is it ground breaking must have no, didn't really see what the fuss was about when using 120hz for the first time, I'm not buying the 12s/13 this year, my 12 pro max will do me just fine for another year. Give me pro motion 120hz on my MacBook then ill be excited, got no issues with 60hz on my iPhone.

One Android feature coming to the iPhone 13 this year will be AOD Always On Display. Can't wait for that one.
I upgrade my iPhones every year.

But how will you use 120hz on a MBP when people really don't scroll that much on a laptop because of the bigger screen. But a phone and tablet the 120hz smooth motion is a great feature to have. But now if the MBP had a touchscreen then 120hz smooth scrolling would be awesome to have.
I have a 2019 MBP 15 and it does the job for me. Not looking to upgrade until I can get a touchscreen on a MBP.

No such thing mate, apple is the best, no completion, if you want lag, heat, battery drain, bloat, ads in apps, 2x apps for messages, photo, mail, internet, calendar and plenty others, ?‍♂️? get a samsung lol, promise you one thing, you'll be back on iOS in a week or two.

Even die hard Samsung fans are starting to the see the light and gimmicks on samsung phones.

I can post "Why I switched to Android" video too. The same guy has many videos claiming that Android is better.
Samsung phones are pretty good, to be fair. Many Android phones have much better batteries than iPhones. Also, my $100 Motorola lasts longer than iPhone SE 2020 (It has 3000mah battery, but you know..It still lasts longer. I tested with my friend)
Androids mostly have 1 apps for everything and you can remove all the apps you want and install any app you want. How would you get (free) ad free YouTube on iPhone? You pretty much can't.
