I’m struggling between the iPhone 12 Pro Max and the Samsung S21 Ultra - I love the freedom and customisation with the Ultra but also like iMessage and the polish too. I can grab the S21U for £850 whilst still being in a position to return the iPhone for a full refund of £1200.

I totally feel your struggle. I have been switching between the two of these phones for months. I love both of them, for many different reasons. The S21U is slightly smaller, so feels better in the hand. It's cameras are incredible...with the zoom being the standout feature. The Iphone12Max is awesome too...the integration with all of my other apple devices, especially the Apple Watch....is just awesome. I also love iMessage, not sure why, but I do LOL. I have not been able to pick one, but annoy the crap out of family with switching...causing me to go back and forth from green to blue and back again with text messages :)

I’ve come to realise I can’t really use two phones as much as I want to. It has to be one or the other.

i use The SE 2020 for work so I wouldn’t class it the same as I only use it for phone calls, e-mails etc

Agreed buddy. I’ve tried in the past to have two phones and for the first week or so it works and then just becomes cumbersome.

The struggles are real. It will be awesome when WhatsApp is interchangeable between platforms without losing messages.

Decisions decisions...

your better off here

It's "you're", not "your".

I'm fine where I am. You're the one coming into this section to show your distaste for Android. Concentrate on what you own.

And why post links to an Android forum for me? Who says I own an Android phone?

Careful or you'll end up banned. The moderation around here is....ugh, interesting.
Yeah, I know it doesn't take much to he banned. Don't actually care to be honest. lol

Can't see anything wrong with what I posted. I was being helpful with grammar, pointing out the obvious that they shouldn't waste time posting about Android and questioning the need for me to join a different forum.

The Nokia 8.3 is a pretty good phone based off what I have seen.

They guarantee 2 years of Android updates and 3 years of security patches afterwards so you got that reliability.

It’s also got the ZEISS lenses going for them so the pics would probably be of good quality too.

2 years is no longer good enough for the price since Samsung offers 3 years. It is tough for Android manufacturers since the length of support bar has been raised by Samsung, while the bang of the buck bar has been raise by the Chinese, offering better spec for the dollar.

As others have said here, Pixel and Oneplus are the only options I'd ever consider at this point. They actually have some useful features built in. Ironically, I have the Oneplus 9 Pro here back in its box. I used it for a week or so just like the others before it lol. This one I'll be giving to my Dad.

I switch around often between phones because I do get bored I guess. I have had way too many phones to mention here, but I always end up back on an iPhone, always. To each his/her own. Just glad we have choices even though I'll likely never use them. It keeps competition and innovation fresh.

Maybe this video will help choosing a new phone? iPhones can't survive it, but top model Androids can.

Android is boring in a way in that it rarely ever gets those exciting messages that soft bricks the phone. I want an exciting phone with surprises.

Good review of one of Android’s top dog: https://www.pocket-lint.com/phones/reviews/xiaomi/156781-xiaomi-mi-11-ultra-review

It is a shame because this verdict is the life story of Android:

“But once you brush away what are frankly excess features - some of which, such as the second rear screen, are nothing but gimmicky - you're left with a device that fails to get many of the basics right. The screen response is unacceptably bad. The camera bump is huge - and not really worth it for the sake of that second rear screen. The MIUI software has various moments of failing to send notifications too.”
