I had the sheath with the carez 2.5 and there is still enough lip to lay down screen first. Stupidly sold it but will get the new version.
Great case slimmer than apple leather, great grip, goes on easy but is not flimsy around edges.

Has anyone tried Seidio cases? I use to love them back in my Windows Mobile days, but haven’t heard anything about them in years. They’re still around making cases apparently but I never hear them mentioned.

I like the Sheath more than the Evutec. I used to love Evutec but when I tried the newest one for the X I didn't feel like it had the same grip as prior ones. Then I ordered the Sheath and it's still on my phone after a couple weeks. The texture is interesting. Still not super grippy but better than many others. Not really sure how this would so in a drop, like others have said.

Last year's Karbon Aer for the 7 Plus has the same feel and design language as the Karbon Aer for the X. It has that silky matte finish to it. I never tried the Evutec for the 6S or phones before it, but I believe they may have had some partnership or contract with Pitaka before.

Anyone planning on getting the Sheath, should wait for the new classic design for the X that is about to be released. I find the current design that I have with the faux carbon fiber pattern next to the camera kinda ostentatious.

The one thing I have never liked about the evutec is that the rubber at the chin and then at the ear are a bit loose and “floppy”. A bit too much for my taste.

This convinced me to not buy one. A case must be a perfect snug fit for me. That why I like the Nomad Rugged and SolidSuit.

If that is the case, then you will not like the Sheath as the TPU is also soft if not softer than the Aer. I know what you mean by loose and floppy, and for TPU cases, the Sheath and Evutec are on the better end of that spectrum. They are by no means going to be as solid as the Solidsuit in that regard.

Totally agree on the solid suit. This issue is why always stops me with tech 21

Well that is certainly disappointing. If I don’t like it, maybe someone will want to take it off my hands.

Indeed, a friend of mine has a Tech21 and I can’t stand the loose fit. My Nomad Rugged is the best fit I have ever seen on a iPhone X case. The SolidSuit is a close second.

I might have to check that out
I really like it for several reasons: great protection, nice leather (out of the box is not that special, but it ages nicely!), amazing fit, very good grip, and no logo on the outside. The only logo is a small one on the inside of the case, which is alcantara (not really, but I don’t know the English word for it). So no scratches on the back of your phone.

However, as always, there are some negatives: quite bulky (a bit thicker than the SolidSuit), power button is not clicky, and the color of the leather on pictures is different from real life. The last one isn’t a negative for me, but could be for others... On Amazon, a few people posted pictures which show the actual color instead of the color on the Nomad website.

EDIT: It’s the only case I actually use a lot next to the SolidSuit.

Ugh I’m on the fence. I like the protection of this Neo Hybrid, but it seems so slick to me. Like as I was typing this the phone was sliding out of my hands. Back to the Sheath. I’m really considering the Apple Silicone case just for the grip. I dunno how protective it’ll be, although they did a huge drop of the leather case and it survived in this video at the 12:21 mark. Anyone have experience with the Apple Silicone? Is it really that bad with the lint and being grabby coming out of pockets?

I liked the Silicone case. Lint just blows off....easy to clean. Feels great in the hand. No fingerprints, & if you're careful, it won't scratch. Not slippery either.

I only stopped using it because I wanted a more minimalist case.

My sheath came today. Definitely not for me. Very flimsy fit imo. It will likely be up on eBay shortly, unless someone here is interested.

That’s a shame... A flimsy fit is always a no go for me. Good luck with selling!

You could check out the Nomad Rugged, but keep the negatives of that case in mind which I posted earlier. I don’t want to make you buy something you won’t like. As said before, it’s the best fitting case I own, even slightly better fit than the SolidSuit.

You mean flimsy as overall? I found the fit around the edges was ok. At least its easy to get on and off. It's a slim and grippy case. But then look at solid suit drop proof but slippery as buggery, i felt safer with the Sheath.

Buttons are very stiff right? On par with OB Symmetry size?

It was too flimsy for me. The chin area and by the buttons was way too flexible
Imo. Like the Presidio Grip and SolidSuit much more.

That's odd, my Sheath fits like a glove...not flexible at all with mine. Feels very solid on my phone. I would contact Caudabe for a replacement...

The power button is quite stiff indeed... However, I am going to try to fix this by putting a few layers of tape on the inside of the button. I think the button feel is stiif due to the button being not long enough to reach the phone button completely. However, the rest of the case makes up for it if you are not looking for an ultra slim case.

Mine is pretty solid also, but the cases he's comparing to are even more firm. So yea by comparison it's no contest.

Mine fits great as well, but it'll definitely seem flimsy when compared to the SolidSuit. I was genuinely worried that I'd damage my phone when I was removing the SolidSuit to replace it with the Sheath.

This is legit. Removing the the Solidsuit requires a lot pressure to the 2nd corner to finally get the phone out. Not to piss in anyone's Cheerios, but a friend that had a Rhinoshield Crashguard noticed their phone start to creak after they got that case. It's also hard to remove, so frequent removal must have micro-bent their phone or messed with the seal, but you could hear the creak and feel a bit of play on their iPhone X if you squeezed their phone.

I feel like i'm in the same boat as you. I feel so comfortable using the Solidsuit knowing that I have that good drop protection. My problem is that the sides are so damn slick and a little bit on the wider side even though it's pretty thin. Have you tried the Evutec Aergo? It has a honeycomb-like interior supposedly for shock absorption but the grip/feel of the case is perfect imo. Unfortunately i'm not sure how well it'll survive a drop.
