The buttons are very tactile and the case itself is noticeably thinner. It feels better in hand than the SolidSuit - the lack of the front lip is my only issue.
Sounds good! It’s the slimmest case I have seen that still offers 2 meters (or more) of drop protection.

How tight is the fit to the phone?one of the things I love about the solid suit is the fit
I don’t know if you are asking me, but I don’t have the Caudabe. AlphaGuitarist might be able to answer this. I am curious too!

The Sheath feels much better in hand than the Solidsuit. The fit is good and solid for a thin TPU case...the edges aren’t flimsy and the bottom holes have a thicker border edge to maintain that solidness that other tpu cases do not have at those points. The texture Caudabe has implemented on the Sheath is perfect...I don’t think it gets better than that for TPU. As to the lip, I find the lip to be adequate and I have had the Icarez 2.5D with tray fitment and the Arbalest screen protectors on the phone. There is still lip protection with those screen protectors on. The Sheath is one of the best cases, but I don’t know how much it would really protect from a fall to concrete.

Again, I’ve been impressed by the Evutec Karbon Aer...it is basically the same size as the Sheath with better materials. The TPU backing of the Sheath is thicker than the Kevlar of the Karbon Aer, but the cases are the same thickness because the lip of the Aer is higher than the Sheath’s. I would think it would be the other way around since the Aer also has the metal inserts for the car magnetic car mounts built into it. I usually never buy cases in stores, so finding a gem like the Evutec at Target has been a pleasant surprise. I ordered my 7 plus Aer from Amazon last time, but didn’t see it there for the X.

Earlier today, I removed the SolidSuit, which wasn’t easy (I was worried about damaging the phone, that’s how tight that case is) and, after changing the screen protector put the Sheath on. It feels far better than the SolidSuit and fits perfectly. However, I highly doubt that it’ll protect the phone from a fall onto a concrete/asphalt surface. The SolidSuit, on the other hand, would definitely be able to handle such a drop. I’ll just have to be a bit more careful with my phone!

I want one too now! That drop protection and how slim it is... However, I don’t like the design, so I contacted them about the release date of the new design (the Classic you mentioned).
Let me know what they say. I did order this one, I found a discount code online. :). But I would much prefer the other look

I actually like the faux carbon fiber look on the back of the Sheath. As the old saying goes, there's no accounting for taste!

Having had a this case on my phone for a few hours already, it feels worlds better than the SolidSuit. I'll keep it on for a few days before making my final decision, but it may be a keeper. I'll just stick to being more careful and, if worst comes to worst, make use of AppleCare+.

They state 2 meters of drop protection, so should be fine with any drop.

If you had to choose one case, would you choose the Caudabe or Evutec? I am trying to decide between these two for my next case. :)

I just got a reply from Caudabe. They expect to release the Sheath Classic (a different design compared to the ‘normal’ one) next week.

I would go with the Evutec. Here are some photos comparing the two.

I like the Sheath more than the Evutec. I used to love Evutec but when I tried the newest one for the X I didn't feel like it had the same grip as prior ones. Then I ordered the Sheath and it's still on my phone after a couple weeks. The texture is interesting. Still not super grippy but better than many others. Not really sure how this would so in a drop, like others have said.

That said, I'm gonna try the Spigen Neo Hybrid next to see how I like it. I might be too used to the thin cases now.

I just want thin and grippy and protective for my phone! Seems I can only get two out of three. Sigh.

EDIT: I ordered the Sheath, not the Evutec. Typo.
