Tech 21.

Dropped my iPhone6S Plus so many times and it's never been damaged because of the Tech21

Unless they've changed their materials used for the iPhone X cases I'll stick with them.

Speck had poor quality control with my iPhone 5. None of the rest seem to offer drop protection sufficient for me

Clear backed TPU cases by Spigen, ESR and a few others add micro dots to the inside.
This prevents those marks very well.

Attempting caseless (with insurance) for the first iPhone ever as the glass is not as slippery as 6S+. But I am using dual screen protectors which I’ve linked below

iPhone X Screen Protector Front + Premium Back, KuGi Full Coverage Curved Tempered Glass Protector [Bubble Free] [Scratch Resistant], Fit for iPhone X Smartphone, Transparent https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B074XPWNX6/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_tai_jpy7zbC574EQQ

At that price I ordered speculatively. Not convinced about how well protectors will fit without having the actual devices to measure from, but I figure I can dry fit and see how they’ll look - and they’ll remove easily enough if I don’t like them.

Ordered myself the Caudabe Lucid Clear, always loved their products and I have one for my 6 and it's practically invisible.

This is my favorite one so far. Do they have any branding on their cases? Looking at the older model I see a logo on the side down low.

It has one etched on the side, yes. Seems fairly discreet. I can take a photo if you like - I have one in my drawer.

It does seem a little hard - not sure if that risks scratching the steel or not. But it definitely feels slimmer than either spigen liquid crystal or hybrid ultra - both just seem a few mm wider.

I’m going with Incipio. If you click this link and fill out your email they give you a $10 discount on an X case...

I purchased the two below and they should be arriving this Saturday.

I got asked to pay customs charge for a Caudabe case. Thinking if I dont, it will get returned and I should get a refund? Have emailed Caudabe and they have yet to respond. after a week, which is unlike them. I have had many cases sent from overseas including from Caudabe and not have to pay any customs charge. I might as well pay an original Apple case with the price including the customs tax.

I had the same thing. I didn’t pick up from the P.O. and it went back to Caudabe who then refunded me. I did email them to tell them what I was doing and they did reply. Perhaps you should try again?

Btw, I then ordered again and didn’t get charged by customs. It’s pot luck.

Thank you, I will order again from them. I have sent them two emails and no reply which is very unlike them. What case did you get for the X?

The front has rounded edges. Not sure about the back. Will update.
Can you let us know which ones you got? Having just dropped my 6S and cracked the tempered glass screen protector (but not the display), I will definitely be getting a screen protector for my X and want one with rounded edges. Thanks.

When is Apple going to add their own cases for the X to the store? I want to go with theirs again, but if they exceed $50 as I fear they will I'll likely get something else.

They have had their X cases on their store since the X was announced. 'Not Available' of course.

The are currently on the site, but listed as not available.

The silicone case is listed as $39 & the leather case is $49. They also have a new folio case that retails for $99.

You can check them out on the site.

I really need to stop buying cases. Just ordered the ringke fusion and air because I can’t tell what the difference is, and they were only £6 each. Hoping they will be slimmer than the spigen ultra hybrid which seems a bit chunky.

So when they arrive I’ll have
- caudabe lucid clear
- spigen ultra hybrid
- spigen liquid crystal
- ringke fusion
- ringke air

Oh and a front/rear tempered glass protector in case I go semi-naked. Or buy applecare+ and go fully naked..

Has anyone found a rugged/"life-proof" high-capacity battery case that uses Qi wireless charging instead of connecting to the Lightning port?

I've found some with large battery sizes that last about 24 hours of constant video streaming via Bluetooth headphones, but they all plug into the Lightning port, and I don't like that because I get scared that if I'm charging the phone in the case and I drop it, the Lightning connector might get bent and damage the port.

There was no other option for 7/7 Plus, but now that inductive charging is built into the new lineup, I'm curious if anyone else has been looking too and found something.

The closest I could find is mophie's magnetic cases plus their magnetic Qi battery pack—that said, a few problems: it's two accessories held together magnetically (too easy to detach?), the case doesn't look that rugged (want it to still be shock and shatter-resistant, and maintain the IP67 rating), the case itself is only made for 7/7 Plus and not X, and I figure the whole "held together magnetically" part might mess with the Qi charger enough to render it inoperable, making the whole endeavor pointless.

Curious if anyone else has also been looking for this kind of "ideal solution" for the iPhone X when it comes out (or even the 8/8 Plus for that matter). Obviously, size isn't really a factor for me, I've got a bulky case on my phone now and it's fine. That, and price is all relative: if it's expensive but it's really functional and liberating, it might be worth it.

Caudabe Lucid owners/enthusiasts:

QUESTION:

On a silver X, I am considering the lucid clear or the silver lucid clear, what are the pro/con of one over the other? It appears the silver lucid clear has silver in the band and a clear back, the other one is all clear, doesn’t show the Caudabe name and doesn’t have the lines in the lower portion of the case, which from the picture does not look appealing? I “THINK” the clear would be the obvious choice, thoughts?

I got the clear one. Looks great; feels like quality. Typical Caudabe. Now, just wait for the damn phone. Lol
