Looking for as minimal as case as possible for the X but with *some* drop protection. I've tried the clear Speck case for my 6S and hated it - the back became permanently 'fogged' in a strange pattern (Speck replaced my first case, but it also happened on the second). For my rose gold 6S I wanted a clear case, but ended up with a Caseology Savoy case in blue/rose gold and surprisingly enough it has been great protecting my phone during the occasional drops - but I don't see that Caseology has X cases yet. I'm considering the Caudabe Lucid Clear or the Spigen Crystal Hybrid, Neo Crystal Hybrid or Ultra Hybrid. Can anyone offer personal experience with those and whether or not any 'fogging' or discoloration occurs? Also - what is your opinion on Crystal Hybrid vs Neo Crystal vs Ultra Hybrid? Thanks!

Does anyone have a Spigen Liquid Air Armor that can confirm whether or not the metal frame of the X is exposed under the buttons. The images on Amazon make it look like the frame is exposed. On the 7/8 version it’s not. I wouldn’t want dirt getting in between the case and buttons. Don’t know why they would change a good design.

Used Ultra Hybrid on my last few phones. Good case, has good drop protection but without too much extra bulk. Back holds up pretty well, it will scratch from keys etc. but it takes a while if you're reasonably careful before it gets noticeable and they're pretty cheap so when it gets messed up you can just get another if it bothers you. No discolouration noted on any of mine. Not used the others you mention, sorry.

anyone seen a case that has a built in magnet on the back for the car mounts so I don' need to have one inside the case or attached to the phone case?

I’d be careful with cases that have magnets. If I’m not mistaken, they will most likely interfere with wireless charging.

What's better, something like the OtterBox symmetry clear case or a good bumper with dual glass screen protectors? I don't want to hide this thing in a big case.

Quick photo of the side of the caudabe lucid clear
Looks nice and slim, but it looks like that one is broken at the bottom, or is that an optical illusion? Is it a flexible plastic or a hard shell?

Just got my Caudabe Lucid Clear, case is great, nice and thin.

For those worried about how thin these are, I have the same case for my 6 and have dropped it countless times for the whole 3 years I've had it and it's never been damaged once, even the case shows no scratches. I was a serial case changer, couldn't stick with one for longer than 2 weeks but as soon as I used a Caudabe I've never taken it off.

Seriously thinking about this case, got an iPX in silver coming, totally dig on the contrasting rear/camera, and wanted to be able to see it, so looking for something that's, well, basically clear :D I've been using Spigen (Ultra Hybrid - also available for the X) on our 6Ss and 7, the TPU with the smoked rear, nicely see through as well, but your input kind of swayed me (plus that 20% off is pretty solid).

Is there a theory as for why the Otterbox Defender for the X is missing the screen protector? Weird. Maybe they needed to experiment with FaceID first so their “gamble” based-on-renders case was safer without a screen.

Not sure how much more protective than a Symmetry it is though.

My Otterbox Symmetry (in matte black) came in a few days ago. I have used the Symmetry series since the iPhone 6 days and they are a solid, minimalist(-ish) case. Before that, I used an Otterbox Commuter on the iPhone 5 (Symmetry series wasn't invented yet).

Same.
Symmetry + no screen protector + being careful.

But now I’m curious about the screen-less Defender. Sounds grippy.

Got the Cosmos Blue Leather Folio. Glad I ordered it ASAP after my X because it appears to be the most popular as it’s backordered 2-3 weeks.

Ive gone for the Speck Presido, I prefer the more rugged cases for my phone I feel I don't have to baby them around then.

Chose the speck because its thinner than the otterbox symmetry and a think looks better. Also beat out the Spigen tough armour because I didn't want a hole where the apple logo is

I also picked up a Product red case today, now that I know I scored a phone for next week.

I second Tech21 cases for anyone who is accident prone. My daughter had one on an iphone 5 and it lasted her 4 years, no cracks or damage, and she dropped it all the time. As soon as my son got a phone, it went in a tech21 case.

Anyone order this one from amazon? Only 8 quid. Looks quite nice and I’m tempted to get it.

Currently I have the following:

Spigen Thin Fit - Matte Black (on hand)
https://www.spigen.com/products/iphone-x-case-thin-fit

Apple Leather Folio - Cosmos Blue (2-3 weeks)

Will most likely grab a clear Spigen AirSkin or Peel Case as well as an Apple Silicon & Leather in the future. Just haven’t decided the color.

Attempting caseless (with insurance) for the first iPhone ever as the glass is not as slippery as 6S+. But I am using dual screen protectors which I’ve linked below

iPhone X Screen Protector Front + Premium Back, KuGi Full Coverage Curved Tempered Glass Protector [Bubble Free] [Scratch Resistant], Fit for iPhone X Smartphone, Transparent https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B074XPWNX6/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_tai_jpy7zbC574EQQ

This looks so liberating. I may follow suit after some reviews come in.
