TPU and hard plastic both wear against the phone too hard. They can even rub the colore off the space grey.

Ringke air & spigen liquid crystal = fully TPU soft case
Ringke fusion & spigen hybrid ultra = TPU sides and hard back (polycarbonate?)

Would TPU offer more protection as it would cushion a fall vs a polycarbonate back? No idea.

I reserve the right to entirely change my views once I’ve actually got a phone to put the cases in ;)

I think I'm about 98% on the Ringke Air + Tech Armor HD front screen protector. Minimalist, some drop protection, screen is reasonably safe and it will show the nice phone design (I went with silver/pearl/white).

Do you know whether the case itself is see through like it is on the pics? Would like the Apple logo to be showing

Was planning to get this one, wondered if it was proper see through so the Apple logo can be seen like it is on the pics?

I've just ordered one of these, a Spigen Crystal Shell in rose gold. My mum has one on her SE, so I know it will look nice. If my Caudabe case feels too fragile or slippery, this should be a good alternative.

This one has a matte black colour. But I believe they may have a clear one.

It's cloudy, so you can see it, but not a whole lot.
 
Lets give each other ideas on what cases to buy by sharing what case you have already bought for your new iPhone X. I personally went with the Apple leather case in saddle brown for my silver X.

Spigen Neo Hybrid. It has never failed me. But then again the phone has never been glass or All OLED screen...
 
i bought the official apple black leather case, great overall case, used one for a year on my 7 Plus, 50 bucks from the apple store, it shipped today and is currently on the way to me.

I'm on about my 9-10th Carved.com case. I love them...they offer a minimum-moderate amount of protection, but still thin...and you can customize the back of the WOOD traveler case phone with any graphic you want...And they aren't even that expensive...I HIGHLY recommend them.

Nice! I've never owned a silicone case. I've always used either Apple's leather cases or Spigen Tough Armor cases.

It’s bad enough I give Apple so much money for a phone so I try to get every accessory I use on Amazon...

Same. Have the apple brown leather on my 4yr old ipad, and its aged great.
 
I ordered an otterbox symmetry case, should be here within the next couple of days, its the same kind of case I usually use (just a different color/print).
 
I ordered the same saddle brown one for my silver X. I also ordered the ultra violet, rose red and dark olive for myself and my wife. (We swap cases and each bands sometimes)
I might end up getting her a more protective one like the rhino shield case she currently has on her 7 Plus, however I’ve not been too happy with their new cases recently.
