Apple Cases

Apple leather case in black, have had one on my 6+ for almost 3 years and it still looks great. I put a leather conditioner on it about 1x per year.

Does anyone know if wireless charging will work with a leather case?

curious to see if a case that isn't open at the bottom affects the swipe up experience. Some of my fam have heavy duty cases on their current phones that come up over the home button and it takes multiple attempts to get control center to come up.

how much protection do the apple leather and silicon cases offer? I really love the way they look and if they're protective enough to justify the price, it's probably what I will go for

I would say it's fairly minimal protection. I use a leather one and love it, however if I didn't have applecare + I might go with a different case. It protects well from scratches, my phone has taken minor falls and has survived... it's not a case if your phone will be in rough conditions, My phone lives a fairly gentle life. The part that makes me most nervous is the bottom front edge is open and unprotected, again now that I'm on the IUP, have applecare + and don't worry about resale value, I don't worry as much.

If you guys want a good bumper I would suggest checking out thabotech they are coming out with one for the iPhone x

so you don't think it would really stand up to a simple drop from around waist height?

I've dropped my phone from that height and it's been fine. all depends how it lands. I can't say if the case saved it, or if the phone would have survived the fall without a case. It saved it from scraches that's for sure :) It's not a rugged case, but it offers some protection. Also, the case itself scratches and gets gouged/dented easily, but the leather is pretty good at healing itself after awhile.

Here's the first one the Elago Origin in Indigo Jean. Available on Amazon

I ordered some of the $5 ones that I saw on Slickdeals. Two from Caseology and one from Luvvitt. Never had either brand before - my normal go-tos are Spigen, Rhinoshield, and UAG but I won’t get those in advance unless I see a deal.

The Rhinoshield would be nice but I’m wondering about that glass back. We’ll see....

@MacTechnics I misread things like that all the time. It makes life interesting. :D

I'm probably going to go with a clear skin from Slickwraps or some other vendor if the glass proves vulnerable to scratches, and eventually, if I like that type of skin, a black leather grained skin. I'm just not feeling like putting the IPhone X into a case. Once in a while, out of necessity, I will use a wallet case for some occasions and outfits.

Has anyone tried their luck at an Apple Store for the leather iPhone X cases?

In the past they always had stock out the back before launch day - You just had to ask one of the employees.

This year I wonder when we can get the leather iPhone X cases?
