I've got two cases, the Caudabe Lucid Clear (Silver Metallic) and the Spigen Crystal Shell (Rose Gold).

The Caudabe is definitely the most elegant of the two. It fits the X beautifully and the silver edging complements the colour really nicely. It helps retain that premium feel. There is a slightly extended lip just above the lightning port - not sure if this is for comfort when swiping or to help reinforce that area, but it's quite a nice touch. Buttons are easy to access, but not protected in any way. It is a very slippery case and a fingerprint magnet on the rear.

The Spigen is also a very attractive case, though not for those preferring the minimalist look! I feel confident that my X will survive a few knocks with this on and it makes it easy to grip thus reducing the chance of a drop in the first place. It fits the X very snugly (no "give" in the material anywhere) and all buttons are responsive despite being fully covered. The rose gold colour suits my silver X very well. Like the Caudabe, it is also prone to fingerprints and smudges on the rear. It also doesn't slip into a pocket so easily due to being so grippy.

Any questions, please fire away. Here's some pics of the Caudabe first....
Thanks for pics, just ordered a caudabe lucid all clear one for my silver.

I'm looking for something in between a paper thin fashion case and an extreme brick-ish ruggedized Amazon Adventures case. My primary needs are 1) good depth pocket for rear camera and 2) firm lip on the front.

So far I have tested and rejected:

OtterBox Commuter: part of the front lip is pliable TPU. Something like the Commuter but all hard would be perfect.
UnderArmour Stash: lip too short
Speck Presidio Sport: side button covers too firm
Body Guardz Trainr: lip too short, front and sides felt a bit flimsy.

Anyone tried (Amazon link embedded):

1: Spigen Slim Armour CS

2: Luvvit Ultra Armour

Any comments on theses as far as level of protection, esp. screen and rear camera? Fit and feel?

The Patchworks IMO feels kind of like the Rhino Shield and it is solid and snaps/clicks in good. Hugs the phone nice and tight. This case has a taller then average lip and boasts on the website is it 1mm taller even with a screen protector on. Buttons and port openings are good as well as button feel.

The Ebay one feels like it will take a good beating and protects the phone well like a rugged case would. Buttons, openings and lip are all good as well.

The Patchworks IGT and eBay ones I would have probably used and switched up all the time.

The others are like any other standard case. Nice lips, hugs the phone good, nice port openings and button feel.

Thanks for that. I'll give the Patchworks a try.

A bit of lip at the corners, but it's pretty close to flush. I love the case though. As close to naked as you'll get with (alleged) 6 foot drop protection.

Agreed. But that lack of lip puts me off. If I can find a full screen protector I might try the case again but I might need to return it

A very tiny one, it is almost flush with the phone. Hopefully this picture will give you an idea, you can see the phone through the small bottom corner gaps.

Thanks, my crystal one seems less than that. I'm not necessarily looking for front drop protection (but would be nice), even just scratch protection to keep it off a surface when face down.

I have this same case on my silver X. Bought it as a temporary hold over until my RhinoShield Mod arrives since it was only $4 after a coupon I found on Slickdeals. I've gotta say, I had low expectations given the price but I'm really impressed with how well it fits.

The X fits very snug inside the phone and I feel absolutely no give anywhere. Perfect fit. It also definitely offers a good amount of protection from drops and has a fairly tall lip to protect the screen. The lip extends across the bottom of the phone too, but it hasn't prevented me from accessing the gestures in any way. Camera is slightly recessed in the case so no concerns about it getting scratched when lying on a table. All the cutouts on the phone are perfectly aligned.

The buttons are protected but offer great tactility. I can still clearly hear and feel the click of the side and volume buttons, which I like since I've never liked cases that make the buttons muted or feel vague in that I can't tell if I've clicked it or not.

The mute switch is fairly recessed into the case so you must be very intentional about flipping it. Can't just use the pad of your thumb... Gotta get in there with a fingertip/nail.

The case itself looks decent as well, with an embossed logo on the bottom left corner and the word "Patchworks" along the bottom left side (beneath the volume buttons). The case certainly hides the beauty of the phone itself. But that, sometimes, is the price of protection.

Edit: should also add the case has a spot to place a magnetic plate for those (like me) who use magnetic mounts in their car.

I'm not sure I would like to drop mine face down, but I think it will be fine for scratch protection. I've tried to photograph it face-down - you should be able to see there's a bit of clearance there.

1st time ever I’ve managed to install a screen protector this good! The trick is, have a few drinks, fit it quickly without any obsessive thought and bingo! Perfect fit and no bubbles! Only cost me £2.10 off Amazon (for2!)

Here is the Evutec Karbon case on my X. Had evutec on my previous iPhones and loved them.
.75 mm thin and covers everything

I'm interested in this case. Have a few questions...
hows the camera protection on the back? Also is there a front lip to protect the front? Hows the car mount working out for you? Thanks!

Right now I have the Caseology Skyfall case on my iPhone. I also bought the Spigen Neo Hybrid. Protection seems great, but both are a littl5e bit too bulky for my taste.
Next week the TOZO PC+TPU Hybrid Ultra-Thin arrives (http://www.tozostore.com/product/ph...bsorption-back-transparent-bumper-white-edge/) and I also preordered the Twelve South RelaxedLeather. (https://www.twelvesouth.com/product/relaxedleather-for-iphone)
Maybe I’ll stop by the Apple Store next week and try the Apple leather case...
I was pretty sure to use the iPhone without a case until I saw the service fees for screen repairs and other damage :(

Camera is completely protected. There is a lip around the camera so the actual camera does not touch the surface when you lay down your phone. There is a front lip, its not as high tho but still when you put your phone down face down the lip touches and not the physical screen. Car mount is perfect! very sturdy. I also have a Tempered glass screen protector which covers full screen up to the case.

Got lucky and was able to get an X 256gb SG. Purchased the black Presidio grip. Amazing phone. Have my 8+ to my daughter.
