Looks awesome. Been wanting something with this style of back so opted to not get carbon this time. Karbon looks a lot thinner than this version

I believe it is thinner than the Ballistic Nylon. Just take a look at the camera cutout; the Karbon protrudes out. The packaging also states its .75mm thick.

It also seems to have a "rubberish" feeling all around the case, including the back.

Here is the Evutec "karbon" edition. picked it up on clearance at Target over the Holidays for 25.00. I really like the case, only issues is the magnetic mount; the hold is so strong that the rubber claws dont hold the mount in place and it comes off my vents.

Do you have any pictures with the phone in it that shows the front lip and how the cut out is around the camera

Thanks

It’s the only way I charge my phone now. Have had no issues with wireless charging or Apple Pay.

Makes me feel better. Thank you

Wonder if it’s the placement of their magnets that allow wireless charging to work or

I have this case and really like it. It basically is the placement of the metal plates. Theres 4 smaller plates around the "outside" of where the coil is inside the phone. Thats why it makes the magnetic vent holder kind of big compared to last years model.

Starting to wish I’d got Karbon instead of nylon. ‍♂️

First impressions of the Catalyst impact case.

The grip is great for my hands. It’s a combination of the flat sides, rubber sides and polycarbonate back.

It’s wider than most cases. Kind of similar to how Tech 21 cases are. I find it easier to hold.

Buttons feel great to push and easy to find. But they don’t stick out as much as other cases.

Who knew a turn wheel for flipping the mute switch would be so great?

As others have stated the finger prints suck but I’m okay with it. The protection for the camera is lacking. I think the lanyard attachment might come in handy while running.

Overall I’m happy with it as of now and will give it some time. But I’m feeling very optimistic about this one. Thanks for the recommendation and reviews.

Bonus: for whatever reason I find it much easier to use the home indicator and edge swipe gestures. The bezels must be angled or lower or something.

Had a good last few days...

Like this Catalyst quite a bit. Excellent buttons, I appreciate mute knob albeit probably not for everyone. Not a huge fan of clear back but a excellent case. Really like the color combo myself, seems I tend to lean towards black cases.

Are you guys still digging your Catalyst cases? The rotating mute switch is quite intuitive.

This appears to be one of the slimmer impact cases out there. A little slimmer overall compared to the Otterbox Symmetry and Tech21 cases, which is a plus for me. I don’t like bulky cases.

I like the army green color case and thinking about getting the water proof case for Air Pods in army green to match.

Definitely so far so good. I don’t happen to be using it today but i do really like the Catalyst! Not very bulky at all. Ironically saw where yesterday or day before Aaron @ Mobile Reviews Eh rated it extremely highly, too.

Thanks for your feedback. I saw that video and that’s what re-sparked my interest in the case.

Yea it’s a dang solid case, for sure. I really like mute knob as silly as it may be lol. That blue and coral color or whatever look rockin good together too imo. I’m going to try out my Evutec for the day and maybe my Catalyst tomorrow again.

I actually just ordered the Mous case in black leather. Should have it by the end of the week .
Curious as to what you think of the Mous. Don’t they have awesome drop rating claims?

Do you accidentally spin the mute knob, like when you take the iPhone out of your pocket?

If I pull the trigger, I’ll probably go with army green. It may not be the best color combo with the silver iPhone, but I’m a sucker for army green :)

Haven’t found that to be a issue, yet. It is KIND of easy to spin though. Army Green would probably look pretty cool.

Yeah, they show drop tests upwards of 45 feet. They also supposedly use real materials (leather, bamboo, etc.) Once I get it, I will post a review

Yes, please do report back mate!

I had this case for a couple of weeks and ended up selling it. I loved everything about the case, except for the clear back. It was a fingerprint magnet, something that I can't stand. I replaced it with the Otterbox Symmetry, which I really like, but am still looking for the perfect case.

I don’t think fingers prints will show as much on the clear back with the silver iPhone.

I tried the Otterbox Symmetry, but felt like it was brick. The Catalyst is a little slimmer overall.

The catalyst is a great case. I returned it unfortunately. Why? Well I’m super picky and I didn’t like the added width or flat sides even though the sides have great grip. I hate taking a rounded device and squaring it off. Just doesn’t feel comfortable to me. I also didn’t like how the camera and buttons were flush with the case. The buttons were easy to push. Overall I think it’s a great case and I recommend it. I know what my problem is...I hate cases so I’ll probably never find the perfect one. But I’m going to continue to look. Currently using a tech 21 evo tactical and it’s really nice but I know I can’t keep it. It’s wide and has bad buttons. Sigh. I think I might try a UAG or spigen ultra hybrid next. Why can’t these phones just be more durable so I don’t have to go through this? Lol

Picked up another bare series case, this time in shadow, using in combination with the Tech21 Impact screen protector overall a good combo for my personal needs.

Is this grippier than other ultra thin (0.35mm) cases like Tozo, Peel, Caudabe, etc? Looks good except for that logo!

The Veil XT Frost on a silver iPhone X!

Really beautiful case... that doesn’t protect the backside camera, there’s not even a slight crease over it to keep it safe from scratching when laid on a surface.

Are you still using this case? How's the grip? And it really doesn't protect the camera lens? Caudabe's website says it's just thick enough to provide some protection when laid on a flat surface.
