Had this case for my 6s plus and loved it. Skipped it for the 7 plus and back to it for my X. Love the feel and the buttons are much improved from the 6s plus. Also it has a built in magnet around the wireless charging coil that allows it to magnetically attach to a vent mount which is included with the case. I’d say it’s slimmer than the apple silicone but feels as protective and the vent mount is a big plus

The catalyst is a great case. I returned it unfortunately. Why? Well I’m super picky and I didn’t like the added width or flat sides even though the sides have great grip. I hate taking a rounded device and squaring it off. Just doesn’t feel comfortable to me. I also didn’t like how the camera and buttons were flush with the case. The buttons were easy to push. Overall I think it’s a great case and I recommend it. I know what my problem is...I hate cases so I’ll probably never find the perfect one. But I’m going to continue to look. Currently using a tech 21 evo tactical and it’s really nice but I know I can’t keep it. It’s wide and has bad buttons. Sigh. I think I might try a UAG or spigen ultra hybrid next. Why can’t these phones just be more durable so I don’t have to go through this? Lol

Fair enough. I need to grab one to get it out of my system :D As long as it’s not wider and thicker than the Otterbox Symmetry, I should be cool with it.

That side button for the mute switch is one of the dumbest things i've seen. Talk about form over function........Not sure why you'd want to bring attention to something that (a) was designed to be a discrete button that's impossible to accidentally press in a case & (b) a button you hardly use, compared to the other physical buttons on the phone.

Also, it has to get caught in pockets, especially the more tight fitting ones on today's clothing.

Very impractical design by Catalyst, & a very poor attempt to stand out from the pack...

More Spicy Orange.
That sleek, timeless Silicone case makes the UAG look like the kiddy, fad of the month design that it is....IMO. :D

I take it your not getting this case? :p I’m really intrigued by this case. I can’t put my finger on why though.

It feels wider than the symmetry because of the flat sides.

Good to know. Spec wise it’s thinner though.

I tried the Speck Presidio Sport (a Best Buy exclusive) when it was on sale for $20.
https://www.bestbuy.com/site/speck-...one-x-black-poppy-red/6008333.p?skuId=6008333

It’s not good. The silicone material seems more slippery than other silicone cases. The side button is nearly impossible to use. The mute switch knob is way too big. Poor design. Terrible quality.

First one I had included unusable buttons too. Had to take it to Best Buy and fondle then all until I found working buttons. I think they’ve since acknowledged problem as when I was in B.B. the other day they all had usable buttons. Might email them, I’m sure Speck will right their wrong mate.

If the case wasn’t too slippery and the mute knob didn’t protrude like a giant tumor, I would consider an exchange. A refund better suits me.

Hopefully more new cases are coming.

Another case with a dumb protruding mute switch? What were they thinking?!….

This one really sticks out. Ironically enough it’s the only thing on this crappy case that works very well. If you needed to silence your phone constantly I could see this being useful. Otherwise it is overkill.

Imagine it getting caught on a thread in your pocket & you end up dropping the phone...

Mute switches are concealed in 99% of cases to prevent accidental activation....with good reason...

In my never-ending quest for the perfect case, I picked up the Spigen Neo Hybrid. It was my go-to case when I had the 6s Plus, so I thought I’d give it a whirl. Aesthetically and functionally, it’s great. I like the fact that they redesigned it to remove the frame from the bottom area of the phone, as those have been prone to snapping in the past. The buttons are extremely tactile; however, the volume buttons could be a bit easier to push. They will probably soften up after a using the case for a couple of weeks. The fit is perfect. Although it’s not as protective as the Otterbox Symmetry (my other case of choice), it’s definitely more stylish and less of a brick.

Speaking of protective, my Neo Hybrid-clad 6s Plus took a nasty tumble from a 3-4 foot height during a hike in a mountainous area, bouncing off the rocks several times. I was sure that my phone was destroyed. Although the case itself had several dents and, along with the tempered glass screen protector, had to be replaced, the phone itself was completely undamaged. It’ll definitely withstand a moderate drop, but I’ll make sure to use the Otterbox while out in rough terrain.

I can relate. Not in love with the cases so far. I’m hoping there are some forthcoming.

I’ve been considering picking one of these up. However I recently switched back to a case with no bottom lip and I’ve fallen back in love. Now I can’t use other cases lol. Ordered this based on recommendations from another thread.

I am OCD when it comes to phone protection, so the missing bottom lip is out of the question for me. Although it hasn't even been a full day, I am really liking the Neo Hybrid. As good as the Symmetry is, I'll hold on to it for those times when that degree of protection is required. For now, I'll stick with the Neo Hybrid...until something else catches my eye, of course!

Is there any lip in the middle of the screen and how much is at the top and bottom where it arches out

Thanks

Nice looking case! Just wondering does it bother you that the substantial lip on the bottom actually hinders your swipe up to home movement? Am keen on this case but have read that the above problem can be a deal-breaker for some. Thanks!
