Also received the Rhinoshield Solit Suit today. I used to have it on my 6s(leather version) and loved it.

Few things:
-Slimmer than the patchwork itg level case and feels better in hand. If you enjoyed the solid suit in previous phones you’ll enjoy it for the X
-Was worried about the “carbon fiber” looking shiny and fake but it’s actually matte and it looks much better in person and provides some texture/grip.
-The sides are a bit slippery and wish they put something to add more grip like the patchwork itg level case but the added texture of the back plate makes up for it i guess.
-Feels like a much better (perfect) fitting Rhinoshield Mod case. You can’t pull the sides like you did with the Mod case
-I have a 3d true edge to edge icarez screen protector and so for no bubbles after removing it from my patchwork’s case and popping it into the solidsuit. It’s a very very very snug fit with 3d and there is literally no room for dust to get trapped which makes me wonder if the case will eventually cause bubbles to appear.
-the case doesn’t cause any issue when swiping up from the bottom as the icarez makes it pretty flush (very very small lip)
-classic rhinoshield protection. after dropping and abusing my iphone 6s with the solid suit without a scratch or bend, i feel much better carrying a $1000 phone with Rhinoshield’s version for the X
-it’s on amazon prime and amazon has the best customer service, if you don’t like it just return it. i’d be surprised if most people didn’t though

That looks nice but I still wonder why they stopped making the original solid suit. I feel like I have the unicorn of phone cases and was lucky enough to get one of the first edition solid suits. By far the best case I have for my 7+ and I really would love to know why they couldn't replicate it for the X.

Got 2 questions:

1. How do I remove the poll on each page I visit within this thread? It's annoying.
2. Is there any gym buffs in here that use their phone in the gym to record their progress and recommend a case that can easily magnetically clamp onto/off gym equipment?

Thanks.

I’ve actually stuck a magnet to the bottom of an old magnetic phone car mount and use that. Basically the part where it’s usually sticky to mount on to a car has a magnet instead.

Otherwise I just lay my phone down on my small gym bag while I do my reps.

I'd say it probably would have something to do with the iphone 8/8+/x being glass. it's definitely more "bulky" than my previous 6s case but that's probably because of the extra protection needed for the glass

Finally, I ordered the RhinoShield SolidSuit Carbon. Still had a 20% discount code, so it was pretty cheap.

I also just saw this video review of the case:

Are the people who have the SolidSuit still happy with it?

No issues here, although would've liked the sides to have had more grip on them. Icarez 3D edge to edge screen protector has no issues with this case as well

It's a nice looking case tossing up between it and the Mous 2 Leather back, don't think i like the sides with no lip though on the Mous, the Rhino looks slimmer too.
Have been using the Caudabe sheath which is great but drop protection not so sure about.
I have the iCarez too. Tried the Element Rev yesterday too big wouldn't fit in my Brodit car holder.

This has to be a bonus.

We have formulated the new material with your health and safety in mind. Our latest cases have been independently tested and meet the US FDA food-grade standards.

They also contain no BPA, BPS or BPF – chemicals commonly used in plastics which have been linked to possible developmental issues in young children, as well as reproductive toxicity.
[doublepost=1523500005][/doublepost]Could someone with a Rhino Solidsuit measure the thickness for me, need it to be 10mm or less for my car holder?
Cheers

¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Pipetto has a magnetic folio case with detachable inner shell. The folio had magnets which are strong enough to hold the phone if it's open like a book. DocArtisan has a case where the magnets are in the hard shell and not the folio. They have a video on their site showing the phone attached to the inside of the hood of a car.

Finally got this case in.

Even though it arrived as advertised the “matte” isn’t matte at all. It’s a nice, shiny, pearl like finish which translates to a slippery slab of glass and metal. Borderline deal breaker since I purposely chose a matte colorway for grip.

Anyhow also added one of these “pop socket” like attachments which actually I like better because it’s smaller and has a magnet mount feature.

I’ll use this set up til it drops and cracks or starts to yellow.

Those are some nice cases! Why are you selling the Nomad Rugged case? I am wondering, because I have one myself and really like it.
I just found it a bit bulky in the end, ill probably regret just having the apple leather case on if I drop it but the X is already quite big without the help of a thick case

Received the Design Skin "Corner" case today & its benefits are obvious - the naked GRIP it allows of the phone, whilst providing a lay on the table design for both front & rear of the device.

Comparing it to the Apple Silicone case, which I was really appreciating, thanks to its great feel & easy to clean surface (just blowing on the case cleaned up most of the lint it attracts).

But as you'll see in the photos below, the Corner case allows for a better user experience because you get more reach due to the sides being fully exposed...this is the thing - you need to be ok with the sides being unprotected. If you are, then this case is the best of many worlds in terms of minimal protection/sleek design/naked grip.

NOTE: Both the top & bottom edges are protected, but don't have raised lips, which is clever design, as swiping from those edges aren't impacted at all...& now neither are the sides - swiping back/forward in Chrome for eg.

The back is also protected, but it's a thin coverage which is just less than flush with the rear camera...this also helps with gaining extra reach when using the phone.

The soft corners are a highlight as they provide the front/back protection & this is what appealed to me - no huge lip around the case, just a minimal bulge of the corners (which is equivalent to the corner thickness of the Apple Silicone case fyi).

The matt back isn't showing up fingerprints upon initial use, but I won't be able to confirm how well it handles skin oils until a day or few of use.

But the grip is the other highlight. Attached photos will show the extra reach & minimised hand fatigue there is when using this case over the Apple Silicone, which I'll still hold onto btw, as it's a great backup option, just in case the Corner doesn't last as long as expected.

Any questions, fire away.

I just received the RhinoShield SolidSuit Carbon for my X.
The case itself feels very nice and great quality!
However, the power button was missing (not loose in the box either).
So I contacted them, and I hope they will solve this...

Wow that's a slip up. I have been using mine for a few days, buttons are excellent. Although i returned it today, it's way too slippery around the sides for a case its size. It looks great and the back is ok but for a protection case its like a cake of soap.
Not easy to get the phone out too.
The phone has more grip with no case.

Back to using a UAG metropolis i picked up cheap for now.

Mine has held up well. I have the clear one. I like the better grip and minimalist design. I don't use as a daily driver though. Too much side exposure.

I think if I was travelling abroad, I'd also go another case - revert back to the Apple Silicone, as it handled a recent trip very nicely.

For now though, it's been ok for work/gym etc.

edit...

Extra benefits of the Corner case over the Apple Silicone case is that since the rear never touches the surface of a table, it decreases the amount of debris it collects. Plus, it's a smoother/harder material, so it's not going to attract dust anyway.

Fingerprints have been non-existent in the few days i've used the case - the matt finish is working well.

Also, it fills less of your pocket, so it feels less bulky & is easier to insert/remove. Doesn't grip on your pocket at all.

So do you like it? I found it too slippery around the edges for a protective case.
I am still using the Nomad Rugged, because without a power button, I can’t use the SolidSuit. I hope I will get the new buttons in about 1 to 2 weeks. However, my first impressions are good! Slim, good quality, and the carbon feels nice, but indeed a bit slippery. When I am actually going to use the case, I will comment again on the slipperiness. The Nomad Rugged doesn’t have such rounded sides, which helps gripping the phone. All in all, I like it it, but I will update my opinion when I have used it for a week.

I have tried:

Uag monarch
Uag plasma
Uag metropolis
Ob symmetry
Caudabe synthesis
Caudabe sheath
Mujjo leather wallet
Apple silicone
Apple leather charcoal grey

I like the Apple leather best fits like a glove.
