Rtings isn’t that accurate then...
Problem with Rtings is they only get 1 sample to base their reviews on. I'd hazard that they probably get golden sample units provided by manufacturers as well. It's not the first time i've taken their review of a monitor into account and ended up deeply disappointed. I might have attributed it to a batch, however due to the order volume, the units we were supplied spanned 3 production batches. This is not an odd occurence, and I could not replicate their colour grading scores despite having a literally identical calibration suite + some better equipment.

Thanks. I'll stick with the Ultrasharps in the future.

Those are incredibly hit and miss as well. Since 2005 i've personally owned 11 different UltraSharp monitors, and professionally i've encountered another 5 separate models. Only 6 of them I would ever recommend to people, and only 2 in the past 10 years.

OK. Opened 10 today, OOTB the contrast is awful. Colour accuracy is diabolical for an IPS monitor. Calibrated it's passable, but I wouldn't pay the retail price on it as it simply isn't worth it (got them 60% cheaper than retail because i'm on a HE premier account). Pony up the extra cash for either a U2720Q or a BenQ SW271. I've rejected the order because the department head getting them wasn't at all impressed either.
Thanks! I don't get why there is hundreds of good reviews about this monitor, benchmarks also better than U2720Q. :(

And I can confirm that Ultrashap that I returned week ago, had very bad build quality it was disaster, worst experience of a monitor that I ever purchased.

I have had no problems with about 15 Ultrasharps over the past two decades. I still use one of the old ones daily - it's about 16 years old.

I think it could be bad production batch and this could be the reason why there is no U2720Q left in Europe, the same is with s2721qs model. There is 0 left in Europe. They will return only at February. And I hope it would be completely different product.

Weird, because I also always got a high quality product with Ultrasharp I owned. Build quality has always been higher than LG.
Or maybe I have no luck :)
Anyway there is plenty of comments in the internet about same quality issues like I had, for example:

"I'm on my second model monitor from dell with the SAME issue in a different spot on the monitor! A U3219Q that had that gap on the left on the bottom bezel AND an indent on the top left portion."

I thought these comments were fromma long time ago. Newer comments seemed to be far more positive.

Maybe it has something to do with country of manufacture. I think that a bunch of the ones I have were made in Mexico.

I just checked three of my 2718s, screens, bezels, etc. No problems at all. One of them is about three years old, one is two years old and one I bought this past fall. I'm using these monitors at native 4k resolution on a 27 inch monitor. If there were a screen problem, it should be pretty noticeable.

I have an older Dell 27"4K screen - the P2715. It works perfectly fine with Macs and the text is sharp and clear. I mainly use it in the middle mode (3008 x 1692) and sometimes in 2560x1440 scaled mode. Both look great. My use is 99% text.

I have a Dell U2718Q 4K that I'm now using with my M1 MBA as well as a Zephyrus G14 for my text-based work. It's so clear and crisp. Even after 8+ hours, my eyes don't feel strained or tired. I use it with various resolutions but primarily scaled to the one just left of default (sorry, it's not connected at the moment to look at which resolution that is). It's connected via usb-c to DP and I've had no issues.

I just found P2721Q model, but can't find what is the main difference between S2721QS :(

If they are identical then better option is P model because it have USB-C port ....
As I understand P is for Professional, S is for Consumer and U is UltraSharp

It’s going to probably be the same panel as S, but improved ergonomics and stand, with usb-c.

S < P < U is the way it works for the dell line-up

The trailing "S" means that the stand adjusts more, the monitor is identical. (when comparing the same models)

No, P2721Q is better. It have Usb-c, joystick in the back, USB 3.2 5gbps ports etc
The trailing "S". As in this example of the S2721Q and the S2721QS. The stand is more adjustable. You are quite correct about the first letter. P is superior to S.

I have only the P's. I used to buy the cheap monitors and used to prop them up with telephone books before telephone books went away.

I’ve ever only had the U’s for myself. These are high quality displays, not a single problem with them.
I too, have only ever had U's. The price point of the S2721QS sucked me in, though, this time. I hope they are acceptable.

I have a ThinkVision P27u-10 (same panel as U2720Q) and it's bloody gorgeous.

Great color gamut coverages - super nice panel - does power delivery (I think 60-80W or something like that) - factory calibrated..

Can be had for as low as $380-ish if timed up with one of the many Lenovo coupon codes, etc, if one keeps their eye on it.

Yeah but that Dell P2715q monitor is no longer sold. What I see on Amazon right now is this:

EDIT: Removed the screenshots because I just realised there weren't any 4K displays on there.

Any suggestion if I want a 4K IPS with high ppi, good for crisp text and gaming as well (PS4), and affordable price? This might be the best option, it has a low time of response (4ms) it is a 4K display and IPS panel: https://www.amazon.es/Monitor-Philips-288E2A-MegainfinityDCR-Adaptivesync/dp/B08DRSHH8T/

This Philips 288E2A monitor checks all my needs:
- 4K at 28" (I'd prefer 27" for the pixel density but it is fine)
- IPS panel with low latency or refresh, ideal for gaming
- Good build quality
- Affordable at just 314€

What do you guys think?

I assume all monitors are matte and there are no glossy options. I'd prefer glossy, as I don't suffer reflections and I like crispness, but if there aren't options I guess I can live with a matte display.
