Yeah, tweetie with itweetreply (for push) is what I use. It's an excellent set-up!

the refresh button is part of the scrolling tweet feed. BIG UI issue, IMO.

Why? It's very logical placement. If you want to see new tweets you'll be at the top of the feed, which is where you find the refresh button. "Load more" is at the bottom too, so it's common sense.

Just like how Tweetie on Mac loads more tweets when you scroll to the bottom of the list, it makes much more sense than having a refresh/load more button randomly placed.

I don't think it's good to have a major button like refresh to be hidden from the user.

But it's not a "major" button, the only time you ever need to use it is when you're at the top of your list of tweets. And that's exactly where it is! It's a more logical placement than having it where a real "major" button, one that's not situation dependant, like "new tweet" should be.

Having it at the top of your list of tweets is actually genius. It places it exactly where it should logically be, and it's always there when you need it but out of the way when you don't. If you aren't at the top of your list then you don't need to refresh.

Or maybe I just feel that way... :p

I use Tweetie and it has been good for me - I think it cost $2-3, which isn't bad. No ads, pretty intuitive and full featured - I also enjoy the interface and app icon, easy on the eyes. :)

I use Twittelator Pro which isn't bad. I was looking forward to 3.1 but apparently it got rejected by Apple for having a tiny safari icon which is already in 3.0. :(

Before that I used Tweetdeck. I love the columns but it's pretty bare bones.

Iam using iTwitter at the mo, love the UI. Whats the best twitter app with push?

Hands down, Simplytweet. Overall, it's the best twitter client for the iPhone. Has the most features, darn near every one that I can think of, it has.

I just now switched back it ST. It is definitely packed with features and the next version is bringing even more.

Which theme are you using? I can't seem to decide which is the least ugly...

I wish there was an app that would push a filtered time line of friends you want to get updates from.

I use the dark theme. The only feature Simplytweet is missing is the ability to make the fonts bigger, which is coming in the next version. Version 2.2 most likely.
