im not sure why anyone would want birdfeed. It feels just like they took tweeties layout. Just use tweetie! (dont get me wrong, it looks slick, but so does tweetie!)

The design of Birdfeed is more consistent than the design of Tweetie. In tweetie the DM bubble´s look different than the mentions and the other tweets. The DM section is messy. Birfeed might look similar to Tweetie, but it is more polished. I hope Tweetie 2.0 will come out soon because Tweetie looks a bit outdated now.

Tweetie is nice and simple scrolling is real smooth and never crashes...
But now I've been using twittelator for a cpl days now I really starting to like it..there's tons of settings ui is great doesn't crashes and I love the fact that when someone post a pic you can see it right beside is tweet than u just click on the pic to see it in full screen...and with the 3Gs we can now upload videos
with a cpl of clicks....last night I bought tweet push I can say this app works great...it's the only one that can push your timeline not only dm's and mentions....the only problem is you have to pay 99cent a month...for me I don't mind because I really like the timeline push.
Bottom line if you want a simple and elegant Twitter app get tweetie and if ur a real junkie for Twitter get twittelator pro u can't go wrong with these two...

Simplytweet is well worth its price. I so regret buying iTwitter though.

Tweetie probably wins best overall.

The dev says tweetie 2.0 is going to be a big update.

Candy bars have a no return policy :(

TwitterFon will always be the best in my book. Although, I have never tried tweetie because I don't see how I can benefit from it since twitterfon does everything I want.

Agree with general consensus on Tweetie. However, if I weren't paying, i'd use Twitteriffic. The UI was kind of cool (in a toy sort of way, very different). Also uses "RT" instead of a "(via @source)", which saves you the characters. Tweetie does the latter and it gets annoying sometimes when you're in the mood to RT. Paid for Tweetie and I use it on my Mac, so i'm stuck on that.

I use Tweetie, but it's not perfect.

-no updated @ replies and DM badges
-the slowest twitter client updating avatars. I changed mine last Monday and it didn't update on Tweetie until Friday.
it's also slower on startup and more prone to crashes than others, namely TwitterFon.

TwitterFon is fine for a free Twitter app. I bought the pro version. A few themes that aren't pleasant looking, multiple accts and no ads. Definitely not worth $5.

i use Tweetie, supposebly the BEST twitter app, its not free

but i jailbroke my iphone so i DL it for free

I know this was on the first page but -1000 internet points taken from the moron who thinks it's 1) Ok to steal and download pirated apps, and 2) is stupid enough to admit it on a message board where talking about that is grounds for a banning.

Play him out keyboard cat!

Is anyone having trouble with "Simply Tweet" and it pushing direct messages and mentions? Mine just pushed one that was a day late. Push isn't that big of a deal but I would like the absolute best twitter app. Price doesn't matter.

Because of the DDOS attack last week, twitter apps are not accessing the Twitter apis routinely. So they are going to be late.

Twitterrific 2.1!!!

Twitterrific 2.1 is a serious update and may make it the best right now:

-see followers/followees
-video uploading
-username search
-yfrog, TwitVid, and Posterous for publishing
-list of the most recent people you've interacted with
-translating tweets

I'm curious as to what Tweetie 2.0 may offer. It should be out in few weeks. Twitterrific seems to have fixed all the problems that users complained about.

Again my vote goes to...

Tweetie if u want an all-rounder and Simplytweet if you want push with that.

I'm waiting to see what tweetie 2.0 delivers as well. The last thing I read about it was "in-app email". Not much of an update if u know what I mean.

I'm expecting much more than that. If Loren took that long for just that I'll switch to Twitterrific. I expect:

-a design similar to the Mac app
-video uploading
-offline cache of tweets
-auto-refresh of tweets
-possibly push notifications for direct replies
-automatic url shortening of links

Is this something that's going to be fixed shortly?

I'm not sure. I think they've been at for a week now trying to fix it. If you've noticed that a lot of twitter clients are having problems even get the latest updates to the feeds. I have to hit refresh all the time.

does tweetie load more than 200 tweets if you've been a way a couple of days? or is it like all the other ones (except simplytweet) that will only load the last 199?
