She's insufferable. I shudder to think about who the finalists were, if she won.

Music today, outside of a couple genres, is so derivative and lacking in actual talent. Rick Beato, a music producer, has a YT channel and talks at length about the piss poor state of modern "Pop" type music.

She's the musical equivalent of the film director Wes Anderson.

Makes pretentious, esoteric, and yawn inducing pablum that all the supposedly "elitist" and "in the know" people think is generational and of high quality, but they fall asleep listening to it or watching it, if they do either at all.

I love Billie I do but this last album wasn’t it and I feel like there are others on this list who could have had this award.

Beyoncé for example released a country album reminding and educating ppl on the fact that country music originated in black culture and took it back.
I'm in my 50s, saw her show last night and it was phenomenal. Tough at some points to really hear her over the screaming fans, but to be expected.

This album as was her last showed an evolution of her music, both a departure from her first two albums and showing real growth and pushing the boundaries of her sound while still maintaining signature elements of her style. After hearing the work Gaga did on A Star is Born, one wishes she would evolve as well. I can't listen to Gaga's commercial work, but some of her live performances that completely transform her songs show a peek of what she could be. I haven't listened to much of the Beyonce album to know whether it was good or not, but what I did hear was ok but by no means groundbreaking and really felt more like an attempt at country through her existing voice which I felt missed the mark a bit. However, your comment would make me consider a further dive.

As to the album in question, the reviews I've read have been very positive and have noted the ways in which the album is a new level for her. Looking forward to what comes next.

Is that true? Guess it makes sense in a way but never knew that.
Not precisely. I live in the city that is the birthplace of country music....literally, we're recognized by Congress as that and we have a museum for it. I am not a country fan but you can't live here and not know the history. Jimmie Rodgers created his version of country from a mix of genres and Jazz and Blues were a part of that. Traditional Gospel and even localized music played in hollers, was also part of its genesis. Country was born out of traditional black music BUT ALSO born out of traditional white music.

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

This place is always entertaining. Beyoncé is the queen of appropriation 💜

The silicon wafer is a fitting award, because like pretty much all recent pop music her songs are composed and performed by a computer.

All kidding aside, these sorts of awards are nothing more than marketing. Tastes are subjective and the "why not so-and-so" posts are kind of rhetorical. Listen to what you like and try some new stuff now and then.

It absolutely did not “remind and educate ppl that country music originated in black culture” because that’s demonstrably not true.
Country music originated in the south particularly in Appalachia.

I've never heard a single one of these songs. I just clicked thru all the of them. How was this decided, there is nothing that great about any of these songs.
