No. First world problems is a trillion dollar company wanting more profits and a random person on here attacking another human instead of the greedy corporation. But keep believing they’re your friend.
There’s a basic lack of understanding about the exchange of goods and services between two private non-regulated parties. Two parties can agree or not to exchange goods or services. It’s completely optional. If one party feels the terms aren’t sufficient enough to merit an agreement than the party can move on.

The human that doesn’t understand that concept should be taught while the corporation can feel the anger of pissing off its consumer base.

I remember everyone freaking out when the iPhone crossed the $1,000 mark. And I can see why.

My solution is to buy a $1,000 iPhone and keep it for 3 years. I'm fine with that.

But do you wanna know how much I spend for 3 years of cellular service for that iPhone?

$3,200

Suddenly the price of the hardware isn't really the issue...

🤣

What?! Why?

I'm with the biggest carrier here in the UK and pay less than a third of that over three years and we've got one of the highest rates of inflation in the G20

Bruh, just my luck. When I decide to upgrade my iPhone 11 Pro Max to the iPhone 15 Pro Max, Apple might do a price increase. FFS.

Okay this is getting stupid pay the price for a computer and not getting one. I think it is time Apple start making docks for their phone so it turns into MAC OSX
That's actually a great idea. With USB-C and a Bluetooth Keyboard they could even pull it off quite easily.

Citing unnamed people familiar with the matter, the report claims that despite a projected decline in the overall smartphone market, Apple plans to increase its overall revenue by raising the price of the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max.
Apple sees even more of a need to separate the Pro and non-Pro devices in terms of pricing this year.
Seems like odd marketing tactic to use is an overall projected decline of smartphone market as a reason to raise prices. The price used to separate normal iPhone from pro sounds dumb also. In the short term you get a bit more revenue, in the long term it will decrease sales faster leading Apple needing to rely on other product categories for growth, and the Vision pro is too new to achieve that.

Sorry to inform you, you’re paying for a Mac that is basically running iPad/iOS now. The dumbening of the Mac is upon us.

Yes one phone, one watch cellular service and one line.
Yes, US prices are extortionate. I spent 14 months in the UK and my unlimited data, unlimited texts, with US calling UK phone etc. was £25 a month (EE). The equivalent here is round $50 US per month (~£42 per month) and do not ask me about internet charges here.

Let’s see, I pay… 306 euros for three years of cell service. With unlimited calls, unlimited texts, and 5 GB of data a month. No visual voicemail though.

But I think raising prices of Pro iPhones is a bad move, they will eventually move out of people’s price range and folks will start buying more non-pro models, SE’s and discounted older models.

Honestly there aren’t that many things they can do to the phones to convince me they are better than last years model.

Yes it’s expensive here in the US and because of my job I have to have good service, and in my area, Verizon have the best service.

That can depend on how you define "equivalent." Boost Infinite (the postpaid sister company/brand to Boost Mobile), for example, offers unlimited data, talk and text for $25/month (plus taxes and fees). Still perhaps higher than various European plans but not $50/month.

I used to update every 2 years until Apple jacked up the price with the iPhone X. Now I update every 4 years, so their answer to slow sales is to raise the price again, which means I'll update every 5-6 years. Keep price gauging your customers and they will soon try other products.

"We are not making enough money, I have an idea... let's pass the increase on to those that support our company" brilliant.

I don't see why people are upset that a company wants to continue making profit by raising the price of future models each year. Hasn't the iphone way been that most people don't buy the new iphone EVERY year. Therefore when your upgrade time comes, the price is usually in line with what you should expect. At least in my case.

Rest assured, the iPhone 15 Pro lineup is going to be amazing! The titanium will feel differently!

Keep price gauging? iPhone Pro and Pro Max prices have been the same in the U.S. (or even lower if you account for storage increases) since they first launched in 2019.

While 2022 may have been a down year compared to 2021, Apple had record global iPhone sales in 2021.

Equivalent was with reference to the EE deal I had in the UK. My current T Mobile cost is $130 per month for 2 phones, 1 iPad and 2 Apple Watches. All with unlimited date, texting, calls in the US Canada and Mexico with reduced rate overseas calls and world wide data and reduced rate calling to the US from the other countries (around 110 at the moment). This is quite reasonable for the US. Add on phone lines are $40 a line per month but this only applies because it is the 3rd line.

I can get other services like Mint which are prepay for $15 a month (if you buy 12 months in advance) for 5GB data, unlimited calls and texts in US, Canada and Mexico, no visual voice mail. Mint are now part of T Mobile, but they used the T Mobile network. Bottom line is that my UK line was cheaper for a mainstream carrier (EE) than T Mobile and certainly lower than the Verizon rates mentioned elsewhere in this thread.

This discussion on provider costs is somewhat beside the point but shows that phone costs are still a significant part of the overall phone experience unless you are willing to forgo a number of services. A basic smart phone, these days, will do what the majority of people need and I tend to find the value proposition somewhat tenuous when looking at $1000 plus cost phones. My iPhone 14 Plus Max (512GB), plus AppleCare and tax here in the US cost $1800 or more which is ludicrous for a phone. And yes I got a pathetic trade in on my previous phone to mitigate the costs but the costs were still well in excess of $1200 for the upgrade.

You gotta love Apple. Already raised prices here in Europe when the Euro got weak ... But doesn't think for a second to lower it back now that the dollar has lost 15%. Same strategy as always, nice extra bonus in addition to the "normal" price hikes.
That's what you get when shareholders are at the helm... Since Steve's death, the company has been run by hedge funds such as Blackrock and Vanguard. What they say goes, Tim Cook is just a puppet used as a smokescreen. Apple's soul died along with Steven unfortunately and is just an ATM for shareholders these days. The website is a mess, the product lines are a mess, software is a mess, the events are nothing more then commercials and the pricetags are outrageous.
