Hi guys, I have a question, maybe it’s off topic, but do you protect the screen of your watch? I already have a little scratch in my screen...so I have the feeling that the ion x glass is prone to scratches cause I don’t abuse my watch.

On the other hand, I have apple care+ and could exchange the watch at some point when the screen looks really bad...
I would just stay with apple care and enjoy the watch as it is.

applecare for watch is the only kind of apple care i would consider personally. Don’t think it’s worth for me apart from for the watch. Phone you could argue but I’ve not ever damaged my phone and will be using a rhino shield bumper so i shouldn’t expect to have any issues but will see on that. Now that you can buy monthly it is more tempting.

Finally took the plunge and got the blue watch yesterday and set it up last night. I got it with the intention of trying it on my wrist for a while and exchanging for silver or space grey if I didn't like it. Got it with the charcoal sport loop

I love it. So happy with my choice.

I tried it on with all my bands and it looked great:

  • Grey sport band (looks good, the subtlety of the blue works really well with the grey band)
  • Midnight blue sport band (this looks particularly good, similar to the new dark navy bands)
  • Blue horizon sport band (stunning combination)
  • Tahoe blue sport loop (looks better than it did with my space grey series 3, but would look better with silver)
  • Black woven nylon (does look better with my space grey series 3, but still works with the blue)
  • Royal blue woven nylon (I never wore this with the SG, but it looks great with the blue, especially as it has blue detailing on the edge of the band)
If you're thinking of getting the blue, do it!

Agree wholeheartedly. Enjoy your new watch.

Torn between the safe option of black, or going for the blue - those that have had the Blue since release/a few Weeks now do you have any regrets over your colour choice?

None whatsoever. Beautiful colour. I personally try to pair it with bands that don’t contrast too much with the case

It's probably not a good idea though ...

This color goes well with so many others, that there really isn't any need for concern. Plus i grabbed both the white and black Rhinoshield Crashguard NX cases to further allow me to accessorize (and protect) with additional color combinations.

Receiving my watch on Monday. I’m coming from an original watch (before it was known as series 0).

Is there any reason for me to restore the new watch from a backup of my old watch? I’m not bothered about the faces as the new ones are more advanced anyway and I’m correct in thinking all the activity etc will be synced to Health anyway. Am I correct?

This backup thing never worked for me the way it should. All I find as possible backup are two backups from years ago. A more recent one was seen once, when I set up a watch again. All you "lose" is the faces, the layout of the apps and your choice of apps, you had installed on the watch.

Set it up as new in your account and you will get back everything, including health data, one watchface and all apps that run on the watch. You will have to go trough all the settings as well, but this is not really a bad idea, as you will certainely discover new settings/options.

Great thanks, I will set it up as new then

My blue watch with graphite Milanese loop was delivered today and it is a thing of beauty. Fantastic combination.

I’m very pleased with the color compatibility of the blue case when paired with several of my old bands. Pictured here are the Nike Platinum sport band, Flash sport loop, Nike black sport loop, Nike Volt/black sport band, and Space Black Milanese loop.

I just got my blue last night and I’m pleasantly surprised at how good it looks. Pictures don’t really precisely show the color. In my opinion, the fact that the case color matches the band color AND also contrasts from the screen color, it makes the Apple Watch body look smaller. Cause the black square is smaller, the blue casing just looks like part of the band if that makes sense. I had a series 5 space grey before and it looked kinda too big on me in my opinion. This one definitely looks smaller despite also being 44mm. It’s a huge plus for me

so agree. The blue is really nice. Is that the navy band, as it does look a bit lighter.
