Luckly i live in Europe so despite the fact that we pay way more for the same IPad...at least the guarantee is two years which could be in handy in cases like this. If something happen to mine i trust Amazon to solve the problem...they could talk with Apple after that, i doubt Apple will say to Amazon “oh sorry, it is the first one we ever heard with a problem like that” :). I imagine if the problem is serious mine will not be the first one to be retuned to them if my Ipad ever develop this problem.

Amazon's warranty is only 30 days (on most products, except a few categories), so they'd ask you to talk to Apple yourself.

Okay. I’m just guessing because, you know, I worked for them before. Many departments over the phone, chat, email, etc. I’m familiar with what their policies are.

Location doesn’t matter. Amazon policies are reflected across countries (and are quite similar) and we can handle other regions if trained.

Of course it matters, and the fact that you don’t answer it’s curious at least. Amazon’s rules are not more important than the law, or if Amazon say to you that they only give warranty if you are the Pope or the President of USA it is legal? Of course not. You maybe be their employee in the past but you don’t have to believe everything they say to you.

And btw, it’s not like i never use their service before and they don’t haven written in their own page

“Garantía legal

Los productos ofrecidos en amazon.es están cubiertos por la garantía legal de 2 años desde la entrega en los productos nuevos a cargo del vendedor, conforme a lo previsto en la normativa de consumidores y usuarios.

La garantía legal de los productos vendidos por Amazon la ofrece Amazon. La garantía legal de los productos vendidos por vendedores externos la ofrecen los vendedores externos“.

Need translation?

You are completely confuse, you are thinking about the returning times for “no questions asked” for sure.

Great news then! If you can get the iPad replaced by Amazon two years from now, then I’ll eat my words. Have fun with the Pro!

Replaced no, refund. Like they did and still do everyday when smartphones showed/show serious problems. They are not different from any other store in Europe, they can’t be even if they want. They can be different in a positive way, not in a negative one. Even Apple though in the past that they could get away it only one year of warranty...they were wrong. For better or worse laws are different between USA and Europe. Maybe that’s one of the reasons why he pay more for electronics products compare to you in US.

There have been cases where exceptions have been made. I think the full display replacement was around $499

It's been mentioned a few times in this thread of what Apple quoted them. Since their refurbished price is $469, you think it should be a cheaper amount?

Not familiar enough.
Amazon complies with local legislation like everyone else.
I can assure you that their warranty is not 30dd in Europe.

Maybe that was before Apple discontinued the iPad Pro 10.5" and dropped the refurbished price.

It seems all their devices have issues that we consumers must consider in our decision making process. Weighing a known problem versus new device with unknown upcoming issues, against savings, and the ever present need to pay more for Apple Care so that when the inevitable happens in the 2 or 3 years, our device can be repaired without getting shafted. Amazing. Well done Apple and thank you Tim Cook. Enjoy your 19 million dollar shares option. hahaha.

The USA needs to develop a consumer protection force like the EU has.

Unfortunately, the US prefers to emphasize corporate protection ahead of consumer protection.

I really doubt Apple would make any changes to the 2017 models. It's clear there's changes in the 2019 iPad Air, and that if there is something to be addressed, they will do so in the newer models, not in the current ones (i.e. flex cable in the 2018 vs 2016, 17 MBP's). Your money to spend, but I would not spend any amount on these clearly defective devices.

We've seen a lawsuit for every trivial matter when it comes to Apple products.. but why is this troubling issue not getting any attention?
Someone tell me they're bringing a class action in the US for the iPad Pro 10.5 owners?

What about those white spots, which occurs on some other part of the screen (in corners) and not the centre?
As, I have read this thread entirely and many of them have found it on different areas.
I have 2 tiny spots on my 10.5 pro, one at the bottom left corner was discovered couples of months ago, and the other one near the bottom right was found today

Another bright spot to report here. It's pretty close to the center of the screen, which is why it's especially annoying. Bought directly from Apple in October 2017, still covered by the aforementioned European warranty law, so I guess I'll bring it in soon. I wonder for how long they'll have refurbished ones in stock as an exchange for defective devices?
