While i did not have this issue when i transferred my SIM card from my 11 pro max to the 12 pro. I noticed that i could not take photos right from the messaging app not send photos to my Buddy who has android. As the camera icon and the photo app in the messaging app was grayed out.

So i ordered the Verizon SIM card that has 5G on it and activated that at home and after that, mms and the camera icon in the messaging app worked.

My iPhone 11Pro is doing the exact same thing. I spent over 4 hours on the phone with Verizon support over two days, trying to switch to the eSim. I eventually made it. Talking about tedious, I just wanted to smack somebody but I digress. So I finally got the phone switched to the eSim and so far, it seems to be working. I did unsubscribe from call filtering completely. It's only been two hours so I can't say that it's a success long term. I'm happy I finally found this thread.

I just got my new iPhone 12 Pro on Friday. All was well, but then my phone calls started going straight to voicemail. Of course I checked to see if Do Not Disturb was on, but it wasn’t. I tried everything and eventually reset the network settings; that seemed to fix the issue - temporarily. The same issue happened yesterday, so I reached out to Apple AND to Verizon. Both ran diagnostic checks on my phone and found nothing wrong. I even popped out my SIM card ano put it back in, just in case. All was fine until I woke up this morning after fixing it yesterday, and the problem came back yet again. I toggled DND and a couple of other buttons, and that fixed it. For now.

Has anyone else had an issue like this? I’m thinking it’s an iOS 14 bug, but I could be wrong. I use sleep mode, so could there be a bug somewhere with that? It’s not that I get many calls (and I do let most go to voicemail), but it’s still a nuisance. Apple chat text support is no help, and they’re telling me to call Apple support. Any ideas?
Same!

I’ve been messing with the Call Filter again, trying to pinpoint the issue even further. I reinstalled the app and resubscribed yesterday, and this morning my phone is again not receiving calls. I then immediately deleted the app - still no calls. Then I unsubscribed from the service via Verizon’s site - calls started working just a couple minutes later.

I had the same outcome from unsubscribing than resubscribing. And same with staying unsubscribed - it seems to be working. If it is still working tomorrow I'll let Verizon know to add to the engineering ticket that Call Filter seems to be at least a factor.

It just came to my attention when my wife was trying to call me that I’ve been having this issue as well on my 11 Pro Max, also on Verizon. Toggling airplane mode fixed it last time. If/when it happens again I’ll try unsubscribing from Call Filter, which I also subscribe to.

This has been an ongoing issue for a few days for me. What's weird is that, I have had my iPhone 12 Pro for about a month now and it is just in the past few days this started. Ironically it was noticed because my family has been calling non-stop to check in on me (got a big ol' +COVID test) and no one can get through. Which sends everyone into a tizzy!

Anyways, I contacted Verizon last night and they had me wipe my phone. Which was oh so great to do. Fixed for like 4 hours, then it went back to no incoming calls. I've done all the troubleshooting stuff, I don't use DND and I got the phone through Verizon.

I personally think this is an Apple problem. Because if voicemails come through immediately and FaceTime works even if I do not have WiFi on, Then it shouldn't be a network issue, more of a hardware issue or a combination. Either way, I'm trying the work arounds everyone has stated here and contacting Apple today when I get the energy.

This didn't work either. I got a text that my ticket is still open with VZW engineering.

If anyone can convince customer service to open an engineering ticket, DM me and I will send you my ticket number. Apparently they can be linked and the more tickets they see with the same issue the better, I think.

I haven’t been in rolled in call filter for a day and it just started happening again. It worked most of the day. I’m at home and I turned off Wi-Fi calling and the calls started coming through. But maybe it’s just because it re-associated with the tower. I’ll leave Wi-Fi calling off and keep an eye on it.

This thread sure thinks it is the wifi calling on other devices. For me, switching my SIM seems to have worked. I test it every now and then. I'm not enrolled in call filter either but I do have wifi calling on. Since I have my phone with me all the time I turned it off - I rarely answer calls on other devices anyway.

Strangely enough, my wife, same phone, same plan - no problems. ---- Interestingly enough, I just asked her - she has Wifi Calling on other devices off! Interesting.

This is still happening for me. Submitted ticket with Verizon and they said things are fine with my line and account. I’ve already reset all settings and all network settings. No idea what to do next?

Only thing that seems to bring my service back is to cycle the Cellular Data option in settings. Can’t confirm if it continues to work for an extended period yet.

When I was having the problem I wasn’t always on a WiFi network with WiFi calling enabled. So I’m not 100% sure that’s the problem either.
This happens to me when I have WiFi calling disabled but I am at home connected to WiFi. I do have WiFi calling enabled on other devices like my iMac and MacBook Air though.

I was having this issue too with my iPhone 12 pro on Verizon, and think I may have a solution. I called tech support and they asked for an example of a phone number that I missed and went straight to voicemail. They looked it up and could see that it was blocked on the network side of things, so that proves it has nothing to do with the device itself, even though I had spam filtering and silence unknown callers both turned off. I also had turned off call filtering through my Verizon account page, and this was still happening. However, the tech support rep had the idea to turn off the HD Voice feature, after which I have had zero issues receiving calls.

TLDR: Make sure HD Voice is turned off on your Verizon account

Interesting, I wonder if disabling VoLTE (in cellular settings) on the phone have essentially the same effect.

There's no setting for VoLTE on the 12 Pro, that I know of. There's only settings for 5G now...

So we have to turn off a feature in order to have our phones except all calls? This is ridiculous

Also there is a huge difference in volte and nonvolte call quality... switching sims has been a permanent fix for me. :(

I thought VoLTE was redundant now that we have 5G, hence no setting for such in the iPhone Cellular settings menu. So turning it on or off on Verizon's site shouldn't really make a difference. It's just a holdover from pre-5G device days. But I honestly think the "spam" call filtering service from Verizon (which never really worked anyway) was the culprit, and it just took a day or so to stop working after being turned off.

How do you disable the HD Voice?

Turning off "Wi-Fi calling on other devices" seems to have fixed this issue for me. 3 days with it off and calls still coming through. It's not too much of an issue for me, since my MacBook and iPad are used almost exclusively at home.

Putting my phone into Airplane mode seemed to have fixed the issue... for now, does anyone have any updates?
