Still no tracking updates or scans... sounds like someone in Lachine got a new iPhone...
Should cancel it and go directly to an Apple Store and ask the phone support they have them RESERVE you one in the store to be sure to get it.

I'm in Labrador City... the Apple Store is in Halifax... if there's no resolution today, I'm having them cancel and send me a new one... and they should be able to do some kind of rush overnight something extra shipping?
And no, absolutely zero scans or updates this morning as per usual... le sigh
Received three emails from Apple an hour ago... Sending out a new iPhone, confirmation that they're replacing my item and a return label email to send back the other iPhone.... THAT I DON'T HAVE!!!
So I called in and they told me that UPS said my package was lost and that everything is back ordered and October 30th was the best they could do for my new iPhone. I asked to speak to a manger and she put me on hold, then came back to tell me we were in the queue... AND THEN HUNG UP ON ME!!!
I'm pretty much pissed and ready to sell everything Apple and switch to Samsung...
This is actually nuts at this point...

Yeah, I wouldn't go to Samsung... I can't stand Android... That was the frustration talking...
I called back last night after I calmed down... Not sure it did me any good... I'm basically back at the end of the line and being processed as if I just placed an order myself on the website... he did offer me a Belkin Boost Up Charging Stand... and this is the best part... IT WILL ARRIVE THIS WEEK! ... lolz
Because my first contract renewal is up this fall in two years, I haven’t kept up with the latest in cell phone plans....
We have some expensive monthly plans here, always have, but one of the best things about Canadian cell phone plans was how much phone companies would subsidize the devices
I was surprised to learn this is no longer the case! At least this doesn’t seem to be the case anymore.
Case in point: my corporate plan with TELUS
In 2017, I got the iPhone X for 599$ upfront with 200$ credits up front (so paid 399$ plus tax) on top of a monthly plan of 56$ for unlimited call text etc and 8gb data
Now, if I want the iPhone 11 Pro (same retail price as X at launch), the plan doesn’t change much...58$ for unlimited call, text, and data unlimited (throttled after 10gb)
But the phone is no longer subsidized! You pay like 54$ a month *ON TOP* of the monthly bill!!! This ends up being 112$ monthly! And because the phone is no longer subsidized (and no loyalty credits or anything), in the end it will cost 1296$, basically 1300$...whereas my X cost me 400$ (Over the contract boils down to ~16$/month) in the end thanks to the subsidy, and only paid for my plan monthly over the past 2 years....
I had no idea plans had changed so much in this short time. Going back to my blackberries in 2007, phones have always been subsidized here, right up until my last contract in 2017, so I was shocked to hear this is no longer the case.
When did this (lack of subsidies) happen??
$112/month plus tax is a very different conversation than $56/month plus tax for the same plan and latest market phone, even with be upfront cost I paid for the X!
In my experience, it was about four years ago with the 7-7plus. That’s when I started buying my phone outright and staying on a low priced deal with the carrier. I think you got lucky with your pricing for the iPhone X on contract or maybe someone made a mistake or exception. For years it’s been that the maximum subsidy requires premium plans of 70, 80, 90, 100 per month. It’s just been going up gradually.
Just for some added hilarity... the free stand up charger they sent me that was supposed to be delivered by today.... yeah, that's lost in Lachine, QC too...
I swear to God you can't make this **** up.... I'm calling Apple today and canceling everything... My replacement hasn't even processed yet and it's been 7 days... This is the worst customer service I've ever seen from a tech company...
