mine got rerouted to a local UPS access point. how long does this typically take? can I pick it up later tonight?

Preordered both an iPhone 12 and iPad Air at the crack of dawn on Oct. 16th, both were listed for Oct. 23rd delivery (and the Apple Store literally still says delivers today). It's now 5:30 pm in Calgary - I don't think UPS is coming. I apparently should've picked in store pickup but was trying to be good and avoid crowds (like the Apple Store on iPhone launch day)

I was surprised to see a release day delivery planned for Fredericton. We waited and waited, and nothing. Apparently there was inclement weather last night and the delivery got delayed.

Now I can look forward to receiving it on Monday, the traditional Apple Release Day down here.

I was starting to get nervous as UPS was nowhere to be found all day. They just delivered at 19:48 ET in Etobicoke. Driver showed up in a regular white rental van. Must have been a super busy day or the driver’s truck broke down. I’ve never had a UPS delivery after 2pm ever at my place.

Crazy! Glad you got your iPhone and maybe there's still hope for me! I've never had luck ordering online from Apple, they seem to botch up every order. We also had a fair amount of snow here today but that usually doesn't slow down Calgary much!

Considering my track record with ordering online from Apple I'm not really counting on my iPhone and iPad showing up in the next month let alone today...

Got my delivery (Vancouver West Side) around 5pm. UPS driver must be doing a lot of these, he called me saying "Are you ready for your new iPhone? I've got it! Come on down!" Made my day (in my ways than one!) :)

Picked up my gold pro at the Apple Store this afternoon and it was a super smooth process! Taking a selfie with this thing after having an 8+ for so many years was SO good for my self-esteem on a Friday, LOL.
I’m coming from the 8 plus too. Mines been transferring from phone to phone for the last 90 mins. Only 25 mins left and then I can start using the phone finally

Ok so after a couple calls to UPS, which I think they tried delivering to the wrong address (Our driver requires security access for this delivery. We are attempting to obtain the access information. This was at 9:04 a.m.) - I said it was their fault and they need to deliver today. They managed to deliver just before 6pm. Enjoy your new phones!

I preordered for best buy for today and still no email saying it's ready. Called the store and they told me that preorder for pickup today doesn't mean much. It comes down how many of the exact model I ordered actually come into the store and where I land on their list for that model. Her response was to keep checking email and if it doesn't come today, it'll come "in the next few days."

So ya. I'm done with BB preorders.
None of the BBs in Calgary got any iPhones at all. No idea what happened.

Well my Apple order isn’t coming until Wednesday(FedEx’s scheduled delivery date) I ordered right after the phones went up. So disappointing they don’t have these logistics figured out yet. And MagSafe’s scratching cases. And cases with no speaker cutouts. Apple is getting sloppy.

I’m coming from an 11 Pro Max. So far I’m enjoying the slightly smaller size. I just hope the battery life isn’t noticeably worse.

Pre-orders must have been way higher than Apple was expecting. None of my carrier stores have recieved stock either.
I was at the Telus store picking up an esim and they apparently only got 4 units. So sounds like it. Or they’re trying to get people to purchase direct from the apple store.

Don’t mean to hijack the thread but I heard so much about Spigen ultra hybrid clear cases that I went to order it from Amazon.ca. Won’t be here till end of November. Does anyone know who else in Canada may sell these or can recommend a different simple and thin clear case for the iPhone 12 pro? Don’t really want the Apple one with the circle. I’ve never used a phone without a case so I’m paranoid to wait a month.

Question for my neighbors in the north. Does the iPhone have the mmWave window on the right side of the phone for you guys?

In Calgary too. This is exactly why I skip delivery, those drivers are so busy, I got my last phone delivery by mail at 9 PM esepcailly if you live south away from the airport and depots of the majors that are all in the NE.

I picked mine up in store at 10 AM. Took literally 3 minutes, quickest turnaround ever.

None of the phones do in Canada. We don't have mmWave yet, we really don't need it.

I just checked, not on the iPhone 12 (Blue) at least.

Thanks! I just wanted to know. I’m moving to Canada and was wondering if they had the little window. I guess buying the phone here was my best option as I’m planning to use this phone for a while and would like to have the mmWave option for whenever Canada does decide to go that route.

I was hoping Canada used the same model as in the US and that it would be there, even if not activated, but my 12 Pro doesn’t have it either.

This makes for some logistic nightmares. US has mw, HK/China(?) has the dual sim, France includes headphones, EU have etching on sides. So many SKUs...

How does the e sim work, do they give you a code?

They’ll actually set it up in store. It’s a QR code that they scan to add the sim # in. If you want to do it yourself, most carriers have instructions on their website, but they’re usually happy to do it without charging extra.
Then it’s in the phone and you have a physical sim slot open for travel (or I use it for my business line).

Also when you do the currency exchange it’s a little bit cheaper in the US.
