Ok seems we’re fine then. Good to know there’s a few of us who did it this way. At least there’s consistency with not being charged yet and still on processing.

Not sure if this is new this year, but I got this message in Settings. My P/S/256GB status switched to preparing to ship this morning after my cc was charged yesterday.

For those who’ve preordered iPhones in past years, do Canadian preorders ship from China via UPS like US ones? Or do they typically ship a day or so before launch day and come from a warehouse instead?

Yes- China and UPS, in my past experience with the 6 and 7.

I looked at last year's thread and those who ordered their iPhone 12's had theirs delivered from Apple's warehouse in Concord, ON. Not sure if it's gonna be the case for us this time around, but it's highly likely.

Same here for my September 24th pickup, pending transaction showed up on my credit card this afternoon. One step closer to getting the phone!
