I'd say that's pretty realistic from the rumours we've heard. we'll finally find out in a few hours! Even if the prices are high I'm just going to bite the bullet on the 256GB Xs Max. It's about $240 with tax extra, and on resale you probably get about $100 back due to the larger storage variant, so its really a out of pocket cost of $140 to use 256GB of storage for the time you own the phone. iCloud strage is like $5/month if i'm not mistaken so over 2 years that's $120 anyways.

I haven't justified the price at all and never will. I know I'm buying a luxury item that is not worth the price. I could get something similar for a much lower cost, however it is something I want and will buy it anyways just because i want it.

Also i think the number of people who buy even at these prices will be huge. With the iUP program, carrier subsidies, and the fact that a lot of people need a new device, they will sell a crap load of them.

Agreed. It’ll be a XS Max at 256GB for me too, I’m ready to pay the price.

350$ US between the Xr and Xs Max, so probably 500$ CAD. Makes it a tougher choice than I anticipated.

But of course, the Xr is releasing a month later.

I’m gonna drive down to buffalo and grab a phone from there. Maybe even buy used in a few months and have it shipped to a friend in the states. Will save quite a bit.
 
I know they hedge for currency fluctuations, but $1099 USD is currently $1428 CAD. Necessary to bump the price another $100 when these things have already gotten so expensive?

I’m guessing with these prices there isn’t going to be the usual crush for the Xs Max but who knows. With 256k and AppleCare it’s pushing $2k before tax. That’s a lot.

Last year, the X sold out in minutes on pre sale in Canada and was very hard to get on launch day.

At least with these prices it might discourage the speculators.
