You can't put it in cart but you can favourite it.So what’s the going strategy for preordering for the earliest date? Put everything in the cart ahead of time and click checkout as soon as it goes live?

I'm still debating on taking the plunge on a 256gb XS Max or sticking with my 7plus for another year. I held out last year as I wanted the x in the bigger form factor but these prices are crazy. The 7plus is still an amazing phone so there's no urgent need to upgrade but the new screens ive been lusting after.
i think that's the case for a lot of people, not a lot of people expected this pricing. Scalpers are out of the business now, i'd be shocked if people are going to pay a premium over what current prices are. Last year i could understand, but not this year.My wife is in a similar situation. Her 2 year old 7 Plus still feels and runs like it's brand new, but she was getting excited at upgrading this fall. Now she's unsure if she wants to or wait another year as well.

Yeah it's more of a 'want' for the new form factor and screen than a need. I used to upgrade every year for the cameras but I've since got more into photography and use a full frame DSLR for the bulk of my photography. Since then the need to upgrade each year has diminished.
Absolutely. After the success of the 8 and 8+ when released alongside the X, i can only imagine the XR will do even better given what it is. The problem with the XR for me is the fact that it's an LCD screen and the fact that it's made out of aluminum. Once you hold a stainless steel iPhone in your hand, it's really hard to go back to aluminum. The whole time leading up to the event she was more interested in what turned out to be the XR. She was a bit bummed knowing that it was coming with a single lens and likely losing portrait mode, but now pleasantly surprised with how much will be included with the XR. I think between the display size and colours, the XR is going to do quite well and probably be their biggest seller.

I changed my mind after sleeping on it. 256GB lol. I'm keeping the phone for 2 years, in 2 years 64GB storage will feel like 16GB does now.
Already have my funds loaded on a gift card and am ready to go
yea you can, when you're on the order page you can change it to pick up in store.Anyone know if we order online if we can pick up at the Apple store close to us?
No need for 256 then. For me I'm getting married next summer and my fiancee keeps hounding me to take more pictures and videos especially when we're out. I think 4K video and some downloaded content coudl easily eat through 64GB, which is what would worry me. I would also hate the hassle of unloading files and clearing space constantly. When you look at it, you'll get some recapture value from the increased storage if you decide to sell. Also you save from not needing to pay for cloud storage.LOL, I'm kind of on the fence too, but will probably stick with 64GB. Part of me says "price is already ridiculous, might as well go for 256GB", and the reasonable part says "1500$ for a phone is stupid, don't spend 200$ more!".
I managed with 16GB for the last 4 years, so 64GB is 4x the storage in my case.

The same exact thing happened to me, got in at 3:05, order confirmed at 3:06, date slipped to 2-3 weeks. I don’t think this year will be as competitive, especially in Canada.I’ve had terrible experiences with Apple store and App Store order at midnight. Last 2 years I wasn’t able to get the website working until 5-7 minute later which slipped the dates quite a bit.
$759 plus taxAnyone know how much the Xs Max 256Gb will be on a 2-year TAB with Rogers? Can’t seem to find the info...
You guys all ordering at full price???
For the iPhone you’re getting I’d try to put that order in first. SG 256 will be a popular choice. If I want to preorder an iPhone and an Apple Watch, would you suggest doing both on one order, or getting the order for one in ASAP and then do the other right after?
I can't order until next week... because I'm going to order the XR.8.5 hours till pre order

Nah. The iPhone 4 was steel and glass. It was my favourite design, but I'm fine with aluminum too. I don't think it's worth hundreds more to get a little strip of steel. I put my phones in a case anyway.Absolutely. After the success of the 8 and 8+ when released alongside the X, i can only imagine the XR will do even better given what it is. Just to be clear, the XR does support Portrait Mode. That's what sold it for me. I just hope the single-lens Portrait Mode works well. The whole time leading up to the event she was more interested in what turned out to be the XR. She was a bit bummed knowing that it was coming with a single lens and likely losing portrait mode, but now pleasantly surprised with how much will be included with the XR. Apple says the XR has the best battery life, with the XS Max coming a close second. Further behind is the XS.The other interesting thing I was thinking about was how often battery life was mentioned and how all models seem to have improved. They really put emphasis on battery life and large screens rather than something like the thinness of the new phones. I think they're really trying to appeal to the market with those aspects.
Same here. Before the event I was excited to upgrade for the Xs Max, but after I saw the price here in Canada, I can't justify myself to spend all the money it asked when my 6s+ still running great for what I need on a daily basis. The top of the line Xs max is just 3-400$ less than what I've paid for my iMac!! I'm a nerd for new tech but this new price range just trace the line for my budget limit.i think that's the case for a lot of people, not a lot of people expected this pricing. Yea I hear you. If they had the 6.5 X last year I wouldn’t have upgraded. I got rid of my iPad Pro and this will serve as somewhat of a replacement for that so I can easily justify the cost. Otherwise I really wouldn’t upgrade, money could probably be better spent elsewhere.Same here. So I'll be reasonable and stick with my 6s+ for a while I think. Even if I have the money, I just can't justify myself to pay that much just for a phone.
