you can try reserve and pickup as early as Saturday, you’ll have a good shot at getting one if you’re yuck enough, that’s how I got the X last year
Another thing I can confirm is you can pre order the phone and pay using your CC, then when you go to pick it up you can ask them to refund your CC and use the mall/visa gift cards as payment. I asked them if I could do this with an apple gift card and they said no problem.
I was flipping between the 2, but gold is good because it’s unique to the Xs and it’s stunning. Black is classic though.
every iphone ive had since the 4s has been black. gold on the other hand might be harder to get since it's new and likely in higher demand
Gold will definitely be harder to get, I’m still going to try. I think Apple has a good amount of inventory and the demand isn’t that crazy, I think we’ll be fine.
GOT IT ... 256GB Gold Xs Max, i got in on my brothers ipad pro right away, my phone and macbook pro are still not loading the apple site.... wow that was fast, easy in easy out.
Was able to order through the Apple Store app on iPad as well. Site and app not loading elsewhere for me.
Looks like there’s still Sep 21 ship dates for everything.
i think a lot of people are having trouble getting in. Lesson learned, iPad on wifi is the way to go

The app wouldn't go past the "We'll be right back" screen so I switched to LTE and then it worked. I already had the iPhone XS Max in space grey saved to my favorites so I added it to my cart right away and went to checkout. It said in-store pickup was unavailable so I just checked out with shipping, but then when I was browsing I saw in-store pickup was still available for the 21st. I picked 9:00am and checked out again and it worked. I'll have to call and cancel the first one since I'd much rather pick up in store. There is nothing worse than waiting around all day for UPS.

loving this. every model is still available for launch day pickup in Vancouver and its T +0:20. not even the mainlander scalpers are buying at these exorbitant prices.
