Thanks for that information. I have a Sparin protector on right now that works really 95% of the time. I am waiting for the Media Devil to arrive and will change them out and hope that this makes for a complete cure to the problem. I was debating taking off the current Sparin and seeing if I have an sensitivity issues but think I will wait for the Media Devil and go from there. Really hoping this is not a hardware problem.
teerexx52....is yours improving with time on the 12.9"? I have a spare JETech, so I decided today that I would swap it over to see what happens. I wanted to check the iPad without a protector on, but before I did I tried to gauge the level of the issue before I took off the current screen protector. Mate...I spent 10 minutes constantly scrolling and only once, maybe twice, did it not register a swipe!! This is much better than it was 2 days ago.

Thinking I may just leave this one on for now until the Media Devil arrives. Someone mentioned earlier that it can at times take a few days for a protector to "bed in"...this one was installed last Friday evening, so its been just under a week now. Perhaps there were a few micro bubbles that are resolving?? Who knows.

After just reading WhoTheDevil talking about the adhesive and reminding myself of how I got faceID to work by simply pushing down on the faceID area of the screen protector (JetTech) I had a thought.

My JetTech screen protector worked fine for touch for about 3 days then touch was less reliable to the point that now after about 10days-2weeks I struggle to even unlock or press controls on youtube videos. So simple as it sounds I just now locked the iPad and just rubbed firmly all over the screen attempting to push down the protector (there are no bubbles and no lifting at the edges it looks perfect so I am imagining I am pushing it down an imperceptible amount). Boom the screen works perfectly again. This leads me to think that if the adhesive was strong enough for it not to be able to pull of by some imperceptible number of microns maybe the glass protectors themselves will work fine.

It also explains the large variability because heat, humidity, exactness of application, random pressure from iPad being squeezed by fingers or even in a bag would all have an affect on adhesion for a differential as tiny as this.

Mate...I got impatient and ripped the protector off. iPad works flawlessly with it removed, so I think once you have the Media Devil you will be good to go.

This might sound ridiculous but I took a blow dryer and heated my iPad directly over the JETech glass for a few minutes and responsiveness has significant improved

Some good news! Fitted the MediaDevil Magicscreen ‘Ultra-Tough’ protector this morning as soon as I got the 11 inch iPad out of the box. Didn’t set up without the protector, kittens and family made getting protection on a priority!

No notch on the protector but set up Face ID with no issues, Apple Pencil also working fine and I can’t see any difference in sensitivity for pencil or finger between this MediaDevil Magicscreen on the 11 inch and the old fashioned glass protector on our 10.5 inch iPad Pro. Thinness of Magicscreen protector a bonus as is light weight. 9H hardness claimed, time and no doubt a future accidental test from my wife ( diamond engagement ring the usual cause) will confirm why I need a screen protector. Will update if any issues but not expecting any. Even my old glass 9H picked up the odd scratch, that is why I want a screen protector!

My purely personal thoughts on fitting the MediaDevil and this is from someone whose idea of hell is fitting a film type protector to a device the size of an iPad. Instructions are easy to follow but, as usual, I trashed one (of the two supplied in the pack) trying to lay it in position whilst simultaneously removing the first protective sheet. So for the second, without taking any of the protective sheets off, I positioned the protector where I wanted it. I then secured it at the top edge by two ‘hinge strips’ ( used two of the small dust removal strips but have used masking tape in the past) stuck on the protected top face of the protector and wrapped round the back of the top of the iPad. Folded the protector back on the hinges, made sure all tabs were clear and then started to remove the first part of the first protective sheet, hinged the protector over and then laid it as per instructions but this time with more confidence that positioning was correct and didn’t rely on my dubious/terrible eye/ hand coordination to sort.

Result....positioning spot on, 5 mins of careful bubble removal, peeled off the hinges and 2nd protective strip and, miracle, what seems to be a spot/bubble free fully functioning screen. About 15 minutes from opening packet to completion.

I like the feel, not the absolute smoothness of glass and in my opinion suits the pencil. Best compliment was from a family member who didn’t realise that a protector was fitted.

If I could make one suggestion to MediaDevil...an extra big dust removal sticker for a big screen such as this would be a help although I did manage with those supplied.

Photo can’t really show it but clarity is great and as good as the 10.5 inch. Helps that the piccie is of Scotand though, little plug for god’s own country.

Will advise if anything changes but no issues to date. Happy bunny, iPad protected.

Oh and as an aside...Apple Store employee that I dealt with has also bought an 11inch iPad Pro and has ordered this protector given apparent current issues with glass ones.

Awesome. Keep us updated with how it does over time. I expect mine will be here some time next week.

I have some interesting findings

The issue we are seeing likely has to do with static electricity. When my iPad is in the stand mode, with smart folio attached, the touch sensitivity issue arises. However, when I detach the folio, issue improves. And when I plug in my iPad to charge, issue goes away entirely

My experience doesn’t help the analysis of the glass issue but can confirm the mediadevil film protector works with folio or keyboard on or off, charging or standalone.

I bought the ESR one from Amazon after buying 5 different protectors and I have 2 others on the way still I would say that this one for me (ESR) works perfectly. Face ID and Pencil. Also just as responsive. Just make sure its on properly.

ESR Screen Protector for the iPad Pro 11"(2 pack), 3X Stronger [Scratch-Resistant] 9H Hardness HD Clear Premium Tempered Glass Screen Protector for the All-Screen Apple iPad Pro 11 inch (2018 Release) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07G45S2ZP/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_tai_rnx9BbGNG16WP

I have the 12.9inch with the ESR protector and having touch issues when scrolling but Face ID and pencil work fine. I know its not the iPad because I have used it for 1 week without screen protector with no issues.

Yes. It can also be resolved by using one finger to touch any part of the iPad while scrolling. Never miss a single scroll with that.

Something is wrong with these glass protectors and I have changed 3 TG protectors already!

I am on my 6th or 7th protector now and I am experiencing the super weird phenomenon others are.

All touch sensitivity is removed UNLESS:

1) I am holding it
2) it’s plugged in

In all other scenarios touch sensitivity is completely removed unless I press aggressively with the very tip of my fingernail. If I lay it flat or use it at any angle whatsoever in my folio case, nothing works.

This is so weird! This is the farthest I’ve gotten with a screen protector yet but it is still essentially useless as I use my iPad primarily on the case stand or flat. Has anyone been able to figure this out yet?

I hope these issues aren’t due to apple cutting cost on the touch screen. My 10.5”, when used side by side, feels a lot more responsive

The JeTech glass protector works perfectly on my 11” but not before I did some removing of minute bubbles that cropped up a few minutes after installation.

This is the key to getting this protector working properly...keep pressing on it with a microfibre cloth and use a fingernail for the small bubbles that might appear.

I am now enjoying my protected iPad fully without the unresponsiveness that others are experiencing.

This is not an installation issue, I have installed tons of tempered glasses before. Prop your iPad up at an angle on a desk (e.g. using the smart folio), and try swiping up and down, you will have the issue. I thought my JETech was perfect until I put my iPad up at an angle

I’m glad you got yours working but the bubbles probably don’t have anything to do with it. My last 6 protectors, which included a JETech, were flawless installs with zero bubbles and they all removed touch functionality.

Does yours even work flat on a table without you touching the sides? I think it has something to do with not being grounded when it stops working.

Just got this one in today. FaceID gives me issues on occasion, but no problems with touch or pencil. I gave the FaceID area extra pressure to get rid of all possible air bubbles and it seems to be a bit improved.

24hours on, MediaDevil Magicscreen acrylic protector still working perfectly and I don’t think there will be any change now. Checked and no issues with any way of holding iPad Pro 11, Apple Pencil, Face ID, folio and Smart Keyboard checked. Actually now appreciate the negligible weight, thinness and zero impact on the iPad Pro’s looks....easily forget it has a protector fitted.

Even survived a cat encounter (don’t ask!) without a scratch. No doubt other non glass protectors are/will be available around the world and I don’t have any connection whatsoever with MediaDevil but, whatever the technical reason, this one works.

Downside...family want these new version Magicscreens retrofitted to a 10.5 and on their new iPhones. And I have to fit them....dad duties.....aaargh.

Mine still works with your suggested position. Again, it is all about proper installation.

It works flat on a table without touching the sides. I don’t know how many more positions I should try to prove my point...or is this just looking for a problem that is not there? Again, proper installation is needed!

As many have said, the issue takes time to manifest, I thought this thread was a joke at first too, as I didn’t have the issue initially

While the Tech Armor is the best glass protector I’ve used yet...there are still minor touch sensitivity issues. I’ll stick with it for now... it it is annoying at times. I may also be dealing with a the left hand of a guitar player. Callouses on all my left finger because of the fret board!

Listen, I’ve had mine installed for a while now and not a single manifestation. It is what it is, and if you guys don’t want to take what I said, I’m ok with it.

Just want to contribute to this thread on my experience with the JeTech brand. I don’t work for them, nor am I associated with them in any way. The brand happens to be the only one I can get quickly from Amazon at a cheap price.

And hey, it works for me and I’ve been putting protectors on my iPads since the original iPad and I’ve experienced some problems and learned to develop some techniques that resulted in perfect installs.
