I've been waiting for Zagg to finally release theres.... has anyone heard anything about their product?
It's listed on their site but sold out online. No one on this thread has one installed I believe. I'm waiting to read a review before I buy one. I won't switch to the plastic ones reviewed on here. Not worth it for me. It's glass or nothing.

For me, film scratches because of my rough skin/finger tips and secondly, it can be a sod to apply at times. Glass is much easier

Not always so. According to mediadevil their new ultra tough material is 9H. Same as glass protectors.

Yup, I’ll wait until a company figures out how to make a proper glass. Not spending $30+ on a piece of plastic.

I’m gonna order oleophobic coating solutions from japan in the meantime and apply it on the naked screen

I mean, that’s what they claim, but whether that’s true or not is a different story

Mine’s been naked since purchase.

As time goes on, I’m feeling less of a need for a screen protector (I’ve always had one on my previous iPads). Though, my iPad stays at home mostly.

I’ve seen several reviews that say the glass protectors are more slick than the naked screen. I’ve avoided glass because of this.
The Belkin one I use for my iPhone is SLICK. So smooth, your finger glides very slightly when you press hard on the screen.

I’m used to it now - Tap to Wake needs a certain tap technique so that it doesn’t register as a swipe.

A big positive is typing with a Swipe-supported keyboard (SwiftKey/G-board).

I guess Belkin know that the oleophobic will deteriorate over time, so they turned up its application from the outset.

Has anyone installed a Bodyguardz Pure 2? I love them on my iPhones, but have always done TechArmor on my iPads because they’re great and don’t cost a ton. However, TA had major touch issues...so now I wait. Wonder if Bodyguardz has figured anything out...but don’t want to gamble with $60.

Based on the reviews on their website, the pure 2 also suffer from touch sensitivity issue

Loving my matte iCarez protector with the Apple Pencil. Much better than glass.

I'd do MediaDevil if it were glass, but alas... it is not. :/
I bought a new cover that is only 0.26mm, it's supposed to arrive tomorrow, hopefully it works just 2-5% better than the AMFilm one and boom... it will be perfect.
*Knock on wood.

Hi there. What are your results ? Can you share which protector did you get ?

The new glass came in and is quite improved, the first glass wasn’t horrible but the newer glass is a bit more accurate and touch sensitive so far, it’s also easier to clean. It now works with my touch input about 9 out of 10 times (old one was 7, or 7 1/2.) My only issue (besides it not being absolutely perfect) is when I was installing it, it didn’t have any tabs to help line it up so I used two clean bandaids for each end, lol.

It’s Orzero from Amazon.com.

I know this might be difficult to believe on the internet, but not everyone makes a habit of lying. I am more than happy for you to stop by and I'll show you the difference.

Also it actually feels nicer than touching the actual iPad screen. It gives even more strength to the iPad's structure, it doesn't yellow over time and I can touch the screen without it pushing the LCD down and damaging pixels and it does protect against, scratches, bumps, drops (*knock on wood that mine continues to do so.) lol

Kallum.

I have never seen an acrylic protector yellow, I think you must be referring to the old-style TPU protectors that Zagg used to sell back in the day? If not, there was something seriously wrong with that protector. Any cheap acrylic protector on eBay these days shouldn't have that issue.

I am quite concerned for your devices if you can damage the screen by touching it. Who are you, Thor? :)

Indeed, I have the PaperLike and it’s really nice because I write a lot. It’s a little less brilliant when watching movies, but that’s a decent trade of for me.

Some companies you trust more than others.....and MediaDevil I trust. Based on many years of buying products from them, they have not in my experience overclaimed for their products and, as this forum shows, don’t hide away. As with other reputable companies, they flag up the pros and cons of their products. Oh and very unscientifically, I dragged a set of keys across the installed 9H MagicScreen...no scratches.

With my iPad Pro heavily used at home and work including on very screen unfriendly construction sites, I am more than grateful for the Magicscreen’s protection to the iPad whilst fully maintaining the iPad’s functionality. Can fully understand if someone has a personal preference for glass because of history of glass v the old fashioned film protectors (that was me until a few weeks ago!) but the latest tech non glass protectors are a whole new ball game.

Had a Zagg about 2-weeks ago, camera cut out was there but not microphone, Zagg employee was shocked and commented how the recall was going to suck.

I wish Apple could do something or manufacturers could try some new thinner glass material and adhesive. :/ :(

[doublepost=1544370328][/doublepost]So my Ozera one works ever so better than AMFilm. I’m just frustrated Apple changed something here. Seriously WTHeck Apple?!?

So just how strong is the media devil one, would it help protect from pixels being pushed in on the display, and how smooth feeling is it?

Well, let’s be honest, it isn’t going to stop your screen cracking if you really have a go at it! Do not recommend placing heavy point loads on any iPad screen, protected or not. But the MediaDevil easily copes with my Apple Pencil and no marks, no display damage. If you however want to apply enough force to crack a screen or damage a screen, probably best looking at the bendy iPad threads!

Smoothness? To me, not as absolutely smooth as glass but I prefer the feel. Better as well for the pencil, for me anyway.

It’s bendy as you handle it out of the packaging, but not floppy like a sheet of paper is. It feels as slick as the iPad screen and about as shiny too,you won’t notice it when it’s applied.

That’s good to hear. I just had mine put on my brand new 11” iPad Pro at a kiosk at the mall today. I haven’t turned on or setup the iPad yet so I’m hoping the Media Devil is a good choice as ideally I would have preferred a glass screen protector.

The MediaDevil on my 12.9 is working so much better than the glass I had on previously.

Glad to hear that.

That would be a job to give grey hairs...putting on screen protectors all day! Stuff of nightmares.
Hope you’ll be pleasantly surprised at the result...the MediaDevil fits perfectly, no one using my iPad has realised that it has a protector fitted. Has converted me from glass.

So does one buy it on Amazon or through the website only?
