The new Nine Inch Nails album that came out this week came with a really cool PDF that has a bunch of artwork to go with the music. But, a few of the pics are the guys in the band during production. And, unsurprising for Trent, all the computers shown are Macs and/or Cinema Displays.....

I hope no one else has posted this one, as I only read through 3/4 of the thread, but...

Hell yeah!

It's hard to see, as they're not Apple monitors, but you can see his dock at the bottom, and he does have about 10 Macs in his house.

...and how do you know?

This has been public info for some time now...him and John Edwards are really doing their part to curb the environmental difficulties they love to campaign on. I'm sorry, I should say LOVED (past tense) to campaign on.

His energy bill at his house is around $1200 a month. Way to save the planet man...
...says the person recklessly wasting watts to post something on the internet about another person wasting watts. Awesome.

Look, we all could do a lot more to improve our consumption of energy. That much I completely agree with. But, I don't think that a forum based on a "luxury item" like computers and other related goods is the right place to start with trying to tell people how to better the environment or our energy use.

Ditto.

If you use green, renewable energy, you could use all the energy you want. (as long as it's 100% green)

For all the deal that's made over his home energy use, I read in a follow-up that nearly all of the energy he uses is from a renewable source...

It was from Nashville Electric Services that released the information. Here is the link, which shows a 30,000$ power bill over two years.

http://abclocal.go.com/ktrk/story?section=nation_world&id=5072659

Here is the CBC's take on it

http://www.cbc.ca/world/story/2007/02/28/gore-electricity.html

Notice where they never claim the use of 220,000 KWh's is wrong.

I don't believe for a second that you happened upon this information on your own while strolling through the Nashville Electric Services website. This strains any sense of credulity! Why not own up to the fact that you are a willing participant in a smear campaign begun by the GOP and right-wing talk radio hosts against Al Gore?

Daft Punk used Macs during their last Tour

The visuals of the 2006 and Alive 2007 tour were set up by XL Video. The company provided eight-core Mac Pro units running Catalyst v4 and Final Cut Pro. Daft Punk approached the company with their visual concept for the shows. “They came to us with a pretty fixed idea of what they wanted,” said head of XL Video, Richard Burford. “They wanted to mix live video with effects. Using the eight-core Mac Pros, we were able to take in eight digital sources and treat them as video streams. Then they could use Catalyst to coordinate the video with lighting effects and add their own effects in on the fly. The final digital video streams ran to LED screens.”
