Cool. I never knew that. I've only ever seen the "Pears" on iCarley. I'm not real familiar with the iBooks so I guess that's why. See, You learn something new every day. :)

Yeah, and they use elements from windows and os X, like they use a dock but put the windows-style icons on them. its really wierd, but it's all macs - just changed a little.i know i know too much about that..

I don't believe for a second that you happened upon this information on your own while strolling through the Nashville Electric Services website. This strains any sense of credulity! Why not own up to the fact that you are a willing participant in a smear campaign begun by the GOP and right-wing talk radio hosts against Al Gore?

First off, sorry to go down this line, but there are a few statements that really seem overly defensive of Al Gore, making pointless excuses for his inconsistent behavior.

You know, I really don't understand your point. So because the right wing media picked up on this story (which was originally published in a Nashville paper, then picked up by Drudge), it somehow turns it into an evil right wing smear campaign. Or perhaps you might just consider that 20x the national average is pretty ridiculous. This story should be about the facts, not about who spreads them. To divert the argument over such petty issues is a little disingenuous.

I have no problem with being energy conscious, after all it makes good fiscal and environmental sense. I recycle, I would use cfl's if I could convince my family members that there's nothing wrong with their light quality, I try to tell the clerks at the store to not bag items that don't need to be bagged, etc. But ridiculous hypocrisy such as Al Gore demonstrates when he uses so much more energy than the average American or travels the world to enviro conferences at the cost of many tons of CO2 output is really is inexcusable. Why not teleconference these meetings with all the fancy Apple gear I'm sure he has access to? I'm sure that would be much more energy efficient than shipping thousands of people around the globe to these global warming scare sessions he promotes.

As for green energy, I'd love to get off our dependence on fossil fuels, but, please, tell me exactly what is green energy? There are plenty of alternative sources with varying environmental impact and efficiency. Trees are renewable, do you suggest cutting down forests for firewood and replanting them? Solar is nice since it is purely passive, but it takes up a lot of space and presently is not very efficient. Hydro can generate a lot of power, but destroys the surrounding environment. Personally, I'm for wave generators placed in the ocean to capture the energy from rising and falling waves or the ocean heat column generators. We've got so much ocean to use compared to land that we should be able to generate quite a bit of energy there without using up land resources. Still, I'd love to know more about these "green" sources that Al uses that makes his ridiculous consumption ok. Oh well, if his green source isn't perfect, I'm sure his carbon offsets he buys will wash away his wastefulness.

All musicians use macs, most "pre" musicians use macs too, if they don't, its Finale® for windows, macs rule, they will soon lead the academic world (which it is already leading), celebrity world, then athletic, then family/casual use, then office, then, some time, eventually, it may lead the corporate IT world.

All will happen over the next 10 years.

My girlfriend was watching Rock of Love last night (a show I despise) and all the little skanks were making music videos for Brett. When it came time to edit them, they were using some type of black monitor, but at one point one of the editors had to reboot their computer and I am pretty sure it made the Apple "ding" when it started up. Not sure if it counts, as none of them are celebrities, but it still got my ears to prick up when I heard it.

I know Eric Clapton uses a mac, because he describes in his autobiography how much he loves iSight and iChat (he really used the capital letters!!) to stay in contact with his children and wife when he's on tour.

But I don't have a pic :(
