Privacy Control would be nice too. Sometimes I don't want my contact to know when I'm online, typing, or the time of my last visit.
lemonademaker said:good evening! haha to all iphone lovers, i have a question and hope someone can help me with it. when chatting using the "whatsapp" on the iphone, after pushim the sent button, the message will be on the screen with the time and date. But how come there is a red icon of "D" or "S' appearing beside the date and time. sometime is does not have any? help?
The D and S messages are so annoying. They clutter up space and I don't think they're necessary ALL the time. I only need to know if my messages have been sent successfully.
so is whatsapp more of an IM app, than a texting app?
example: both parties need this app for it to work? (iphone and BB)
Wow! is it really that confusing?
S = sent
D = delivered
any of WhatsApp fans/users here have a bf/gf/wife/husband who is a blackberry user? would love to give you a beta link for them to try our BlackBerry app which is merging the two mobile worlds
PM me for the BlackBerry OTA link
New update gets rid of the 'S' and 'D' symbols. Replaced with easier to understand 'ticks'.
Easier?? maybe its just me, but i cannot stand to see the checks! when i see two as in "read" or "opened" it makes me think I'm suffering from double vision.
I would rather an envelope sealed and then change to the image of an open envelope. Certainly there is a better way of handling it.
Either way the checks i feel do not make it as clear as it was before. I don't want to have to ask myself if its one or two, color code it or something. IMO its a step backwards.
Ping's good but a lot more basic. But if it's more reliable thats what matters.
Yes I think it's easier than the old way of S and D. But, I do think it would be a good idea to colour code the two ticks, maybe a red one then a green one.

notice i said casual users. The girls at work with the iPhones quiz me all the time as well as lots of non-techhie young users. Juduging by the amount of questions on here, the twitter and facebook i guess it deserves a change... Anyway, no biggie, i just wish it didn't drop 20% of messages and the time stamping worked.
Yep, another moan! It seems as though whatsapp are trying to gain confidence with just having ticks.
I got the comment from some 'blonds'
Them: ...but i sent you the message, look it has a tick!?
Me:yes, but you should see two ticks
Them: that's stupid, why doesn't it have a cross? That's confusing, innit?
