are you sure? When did you order it? When did they ship it?YAY! My MBP #2 came today and when I opened it the internal shipping case looked weird and I was likeliterally. BUT! Much to my liking the new power adapter is the mini version. So cute. I could just hug it. Oops, I did.

But it came today actually, the 23rd. And yes, I am sure it is the new one. My original MBP was sent back for a scratch/scuff and this adapter is pretty small in comparison to the old masonry brick. ^_^

Yep. I chat what Apple today and they confirmed that it's the new adapter! MA938....

my 85W magsafe mbp adapter is having problems for the last couple of days. The thin flimsy DC cable is flaky near the brick due to normal wear and tear in the last 15 months. Its loose and doesnt work consistently. Do you think it will be covered by APP? I had purchased APP when i bought the MBP in May last year. Will be taking it to the store today. Hoping that i will be able to get a replacement under warranty

Hey can some people who have already received the smaller 85W Magsafe please post what build week their MBP's are so that we can get an idea of what build week on has it...
If you don't know how to check what build week your machine is look at the serial number, the two digits after the first "7" indicate the build week eg. W8725xxxxxx would mean a machine was built in week 25.

Just got my week 29 macbook pro replacement. Has a big AC adapter, it shipped on the 19 of July.
I got my 29th week 2.4 MBP, lying under my office desk, I cannot resist to open the box!!! Fingers Crossed!

I dunno, I'm reinstalling OSX now without all the extra stuff I don't want. Mines a 17" though, so I don't think it has the same issues as the 15" (it certainly looks pretty amazing right now).

I got the small new adapter as well in my replacement! It works pretty cool compare to original big one! 
But my screen is again Samsung and has 1/3 yellow tint problem

I'd say your probability is 50% then.
The yellowing problem sucks though. Hope they get it right (for you) soon. BTW, how are you profiling your screen to know it's samsung?
An apple chat representative had no clue as to a smaller power adapter when I asked. If I order an adapter online, as it says 3-4 weeks, will this for sure be the new model?

Yeah,.... I wanna know the week too,.... this week is week 29. Seems like some has the old one, others has smaller new ones from week 29.

Isn't week 29 from July 22nd to 28th? If it's manufactured between those dates, how can yours be shipped on 19th?

Its a 17", no idea what week. I ordered a hi-res, which was a CTO--it was backordered for two weeks before it shipped.
