Many reviewers get why some may legitimately prefer the 14 Plus. Their main criticism is the price. If there is less demand, expect the price to drop 200 bucks and then the phone makes sense to them. Just wait for a while.

In the US it's Carriers, Apple or a big box store like Best Buy to get a new phone. I don't know any average non tech geek person that goes to Ebay or Swappa or a second hand source to buy phones. Speaking for the average consumer, the 13 pro Max is no longer an option to buy and is ridiculous to compare as a value proposition in my opinion.
That is not true. The 13PM is available through the carriers. Apple is sending all of their stock to them. I have looked at all three major carriers and they all have the 13PM available to buy. The 13PM is a better option over the 14 Plus unless you can't handle the weight.

They’re not being manufactured anymore. Sooner or later they will be sold out.

Get away with what? I personally can not stand the dynamic island. Have no need for the pro motion. Always on display is a battery drain. So they put last years soc in a phone that is still faster than the vast majority on the market and its an issue? I personally have no need for the pro models. To each there own.
Yea it's still $200. Doesn't matter what the two prices are. Would you go out and pay $200 for an item you don't want?

I opted for the 14 Plus, I kicked around the idea of the 14 Pro Max, its just didn't measure up for me. I am not someone who takes a ton of photos and the initial "ohh and ahh' of the Dynamic Island waned considerably. Especially, after my wife has had her 14 Pro Max since launch.

There were enough upgrades for me with the 14 Plus, screen size, RAM, etc. I think I will be more than happy with it.

I’d never go for the 14 Plus. ProMotion is way too important for me. Every phone in 2022 should have at least a 90hz refresh rate screen.

Really? How can you use a 60Hz screen? I used an iPhone plus at my local Apple Store and the screen seemed very outdated. Nowhere close to the smoothness you find on the Pro line.

For me I don't game and rarely watch tv on my phone so 60hz 90hz 120hz doesn't matter to me. I choose the 14 plus for the updated modem with is amazing at my job which sucked on my old 12 pro max and the battery is just unreal. For my needs the 14 plus checks every box. I know it doesn't for everyone but for me it does

When I got my 14 PM I couldn’t see any difference. I kept it on the home screen as the web doesn’t go more than 90 if I’m not mistaken. Compared it side by side to my 12 PM - no difference. Anyway I could not tell the difference. That was the biggest let down but Promotion does give you AOD.

Seriously, I still can’t tell the difference and I was checking into accessibility to see if something is turned off.

Dynamic Island intrudes so much into the screen that wide screen cinema is now letterboxed to the extent that it may as well be on the regular 14 - how funny is that!

After two weeks, battery life started on par with the two year old 12 PM and now is slightly better. Three days on the 14 plus is just insane! Everyone only dreamt about that and now they have it - but just with the 14 Plus. What’s the saying: Someday you will get what you want - just not the way you wanted it! 🤣

The 14 PM does have the 48mp sensor that either means something to you or not. The extra brightness “is” a plus when going out in the sun to my car - one of the more underrated additions. The biggest pluses for me are the last year of lightening and the last year of the sim tray here in Canada.

I have phones that have usb c and if you bugger up the connection the phone is usually worthless. That connector is way more fragile than lightening and usb c seems prone to slipping out of the connector where lightening was always a rock sold connection. Expect Apple to solder it in and if you bugger up that thin sliver in the connector the phone is basically unrepairable! That has nothing to do with this thread but I had to add it in there.

There's something wrong with your eyes if you can't tell the difference between 60Hz and 120Hz.

To be fair, I will tell you this, I could tell the difference on the home screen of the 13 PM when it came out, but the 14 PM? What is wrong with this phone? So it could be more software issues. And I’ll leave it there…

I like the idea behind 14 plus and I think it'll sell very well, its just a shame the regular 14 line up is pretty gimped this year. But if you're coming from an iPhone 11 or older I think the 14 plus is a very solid upgrade. The weight to screen ratio is pretty appealing.
Yeah I was able to use the $400 trade in credit from Tmobile to get off of my Iphone 12 mini. I think this will be a significant upgrade for me. The 12 mini was a letdown in terms of battery and performance. I have to imagine the plus phone should have more powerful components to it. My wife's 8+ is still performing incredibly well.

As for 60hz to 120hz, there is a difference there but after a while I get used to whatever screen I am using and am not wowed by it anymore. For reference I am typing this out on a new Macbook Pro M1.

Also I don't game on my phone and prefer to watch TV and movies in 60hz.

Update just got mine and the screen is great. I guess coming from the 12mini anything would be, but this is truly a great phone. The massive battery life is much appreciated as well. Been grabbing all my data from the icloud and the battery is barely phased by it.

It’s a great phone. I can hardly tell a difference w 14 PM except the light feather weight 🫣😆
Except the ProMotion display. It’s very noticeable when using an iPhone without it after using one with it. I don’t believe anyone who says they don’t notice it.

If you’ve been using a 13 PM and moved to a 14 PM, then of course you’re not going to notice ProMotion.

First thing i turned off on my 13 pm was pro motion. Ate battery and didn't need it as i don't game or watch much tv on my phone
If you turned it off straight away then you won’t really be used to it. If you had used it for some time, then turning it off would be far more noticeable. I can’t use an iPhone or iPad that does not have ProMotion after using it. It’s like night and day for me.

No this was at the Apple store and side by side and you could tell on the home screen, but I kept my 12 PM. Same test at home with the 14 PM is another story. And again I’m not the only one saying this about the 14 Pros.
